  • In the present work, a new photothermoelastic model based on Moore-Gibson-Thompson theory has been constructed. The governing equationsfor orthotropic photothermoelastic plate are simplified for two-dimension model. Laplace and Fourier transforms are employed after converting the system of equations into dimensionless form. The problem is examined due to various specified sources. Moving normal force, ramp type thermal source and carrier density periodic loading are taken to explore the application of the assumed model. Various field quantities like displacements, stresses, temperature distribution and carrier density distribution are obtained in the transformed domain. The problem is validated by numerical computation for a given material and numerical obtained results are depicted in form of graphs to show the impact of varioustheories of thermoelasticity along with impact of moving velocity, ramp type and periodic loading parameters. Some special cases are also explored. The results obtained in this paper can be used to design various semiconductor elements during the coupled thermal, plasma and elastic wave and otherfieldsin thematerialscience, physical engineering.

  • Upon analyzing the literature, it becomes apparent that norms for orthodontic diagnosis were from normal occlusion with pleasing face, and that the form and size of craniofacial skeleton were different between racial or ethnic groups. Therefore, this study was intended to establish Korean adult norms be useful for diagnosing the cases and to compare those to other ethnic or racial groups. Lateral cephalometric radiographs were taken of ninety-one Korean adults with normal occlusion showing pleasing face consisted in forty-three males and forty-eight females. The subjects ranged in age from seventeen to twenty-six years. The tracings involved measurements that were analyzed with a digitizer. The findings of this study can be summarized as follows, 1. Norms of Korean adult males, females, and combined sexes were established. 2 It was found that in the form and shape of craniofacial skeleton, there were no significant differences between males and females, but in the size males were larger than females 3. There were a great variation between ethnic or racial groups in the measurements of craniofacial skeleton 4 The size of Korean cranial base was smaller than the American Caucasian. 5 The maxilla and mandible of Korean were less protruded than those of the other ethnic groups 6 The dental pattern of Korean were more proclined than that of the American Caucasian and less protruded than that of the American Negro and the North Indian.

  • This paper presents the effects of corrosion environments of failure pressure model for buried pipelines on failure prediction by using a failure probability. The FORM (first order reliability method) is used in order to estimate the failure probability in the buried pipelines with corrosion defects. The effects of varying distribution types of random variables such as normal, lognormal and Weibull distributions on the failure probability of buried pipelines are systematically investigated. It is found that the failure probability for the MB31G model is larger than that for the B31G model. And the failure probability is estimated as the largest for the Weibull distribution and the smallest for the normal distribution. The effect of data scattering in corrosion environments on failure probability is also investigated and it is recognized that the scattering of wall thickness and yield strength of pipeline affects the failure probability significantly. The normalized margin is defined and estimated. Furthermore, the normalized margin is used to predict the failure probability using the fitting lines between failure probability and normalized margin.

  • The present study was underve the histochemical nature of various follicles and interstitial tissues in the ovaries of Korean native goats and cattle as well as the histochemical changes of those in the ovaries of Korean native goats treated with dexamethasone. Much more lipid granules appeared in the granulosa and theca cells of atretic follicles compared with normal follicles in these ruminant ovaries. In the ovaries of Korean native goats the interstitial tissue derived from the theca interna of atretic follicles appeared the form of patches of cells and the interstitial tissue derived from stromal cells appeared the form of diffuse, obscure bounds. In the ovaries of Korean native cattle the interstitial tissue derived from theca interna of atretic follicles showed sparsely scattered form of pathes of cells. The histochemical components were described on the basis of lipids in the granulosa and theca cells of normal follicles, atretic follicles and interstitial tissue. In the ovaries of Korean natve goats treated with dexamethasone, the granulosa and theca cells of atretic foillicle contained plenty lipid granules that were increased in size and number, however, lipid granules were markedly decreased in the interstitial tissue.

  • The inverse kinematics problem of a reclaimer which excavates and transports raw materials in a raw yard is investigated. Because of the geometric feature of the equipment in which scooping buckets are attached around the rotating disk, kinematic redundancy occurs in determining joint variable. Link coordinates are introduced following the Denavit-Hartenbery representation. For a given excavation point the forward kinematics yields 3 equations, however the number of involved joint variables in the equations is four. It is shown that the rotating disk at the end of the boom provides an extra passive degree of freedom. Two approaches are investigated in obtaining inverse kinematics solutions. The first method pre-assigns the height of excavation point which can be determined through path planning. A closed form solution is obtained for the first approach. The second method exploits the orthogonality between the normal vector at the excavation point and the z axis of the end-effector coordinate system. The geometry near the reclaiming point has been approximated as a plane, and the plane equation has been obtained by the least square method considering 8 adjacent points near the point. A closed form solution is not found for the second approach, however a linear approximate solution is provided.

  • In this paper we prove the following : Let M be a real (2n-1)-dimensional compact minimal semi-invariant submanifold in a complex projective space P(sub)n+1C. If the scalar curvature $\geq$2(n-1)(2n+1), then m is a homogeneous type $A_1$ or $A_2$. Next suppose that the third fundamental form n satisfies dn = 2$\theta\omega$ for a certain scalar $\theta$$\neq$c/2 and $\theta$$\neq$c/4 (4n-1)/(2n-1), where $\omega$(X,Y) = g(X,øY) for any vectors X and Y on a semi-invariant submanifold of codimension 3 in a complex space form M(sub)n+1 (c). Then we prove that M has constant principal curvatures corresponding the shape operator in the direction of the distingusihed normal and the structure vector ξ is an eigenvector of A if and only if M is locally congruent to a homogeneous minimal real hypersurface of M(sub)n (c).

  • In this paper, a new form of poly-Genocchi polynomials is defined by means of polylogarithm, namely, the Apostol-type poly-Genocchi polynomials of higher order with parameters a, b and c. Several properties of these polynomials are established including some recurrence relations and explicit formulas, which are used to express these higher order Apostol-type poly-Genocchi polynomials in terms of Stirling numbers of the second kind, Apostol-type Bernoulli and Frobenius polynomials of higher order. Moreover, certain differential identity is obtained that leads this new form of poly-Genocchi polynomials to be classified as Appell polynomials and, consequently, draw more properties using some theorems on Appell polynomials. Furthermore, a symmetrized generalization of this new form of poly-Genocchi polynomials that possesses a double generating function is introduced. Finally, the type 2 Apostolpoly-Genocchi polynomials with parameters a, b and c are defined using the concept of polyexponential function and several identities are derived, two of which show the connections of these polynomials with Stirling numbers of the first kind and the type 2 Apostol-type poly-Bernoulli polynomials.

  • For the element ${\alpha}{\in}GF(p^n)$, two kinds of bases are known. One is a conventional polynomial basis of the form $\{1,{\alpha},{\alpha}^2,{\cdots},{\alpha}^{n-1}\}$, and the other is a normal basis of the form $\{{\alpha},{\alpha}^p,{\alpha}^{p^2},{\cdots},{\alpha}^{p^{n-1}}\}$. In this paper we consider the method of generating normal bases which construct the finite field $GF(p^n)$, as an n-dimensional extension of the finite field GF(p). And we analyze the code sequence generating algorithm and derive the implementation functions of code sequence generator based on the normal bases. We find the normal polynomials of degrees, n=5 and n=7, which can generate normal bases respectively, design, and construct the code sequence generators based on these normal bases. Finally, we produce two code sequence groups(n=5, n=7) by using Simulink, and analyze the characteristics of the autocorrelation function, $R_{i,i}(\tau)$, and crosscorrelation function, $R_{i,j}(\tau)$, $i{\neq}j$ between two different code sequences. Based on these results, we confirm that the analysis of generating algorithms and the design and implementation of the code sequence generators based on normal bases are correct.
