Dynamic analysis of a three-axle heavy truck is carried out with rigid body model and flexible body model. To see the effects of chassis flexibility, the chassis is modeled as flexible body. The mass matrix, stiffness matrix, and vibration normal modes of the chassis are obtained by a finite element analysis program, and four vibration normal modes are used in the flexible body model. The vehicle model consisting of a frame, a cab, suspensions, an engine, a deck, a seat, and tires, has total 77 degrees of freedom. The result shows that the peaked acceleration in the flexible model is lower than that of the rigid body model.

An iterative algorithm is provided to find a common element of the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping and the set of solutions of some variational inequality in a Hilbert space. Using this result, we consider a strong convergence result for finding a common fixed point of a nonexpansive mapping and a strictly pseudocontractive mapping. Our results include the previous results as special cases and can be viewed as an improvement and refinement of the previously known results.

Zinc is an essential trace element. Previos methods for the determination of zinc in serum have been difficult and reported findings must be treated with caution. The normal range of zinc in serum varies significantly according to different methods and author. The scope of this work was to establish the normal range of zinc in serum values in healthy Korean persons. Methods are described for the determination of zinc in serum diluted ten-fold with deionised water using Hitachi Model 207, atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The values of zinc in serum of 23 healthy Korean persons by atomic absorption spectroscopy ranged from 87.6 to $131.2\;{\mu}g/100\;ml$ with the mean value $109.1\;{\mu}g/100\;ml$ and standard deviation 10.86. In this method, satifactory result was obtained with regard to the coefficient variation and recoveries of added zinc in the measurenents.

In this paper, We have designed the new model in order to the thrust and normal force of HLSM. Also it was analyzed by Finite Element Method and Virtual Work Method. As a result this paper, it was confirmed that the thrust and normal force was improved considerably.

As the increasing of capacity and technology of power facilities, rotating machines such as turbine generators and water turbines are getting higher at capacity but smaller in size. Thus the monitoring and diagnosis of generators for fault detection and protection has attracted intensive interest. Most of electrical faults of rotating machines appear in their windings. In case of an after-fault in high capacity rotating machines, the recovering cost is usually very expensive and additional time is necessary for returning in a normal situation. In this paper, the magnetic flux patterns in air-gap of a generator under various fault states as well as a normal state are simulated by a conventional FEM tool. These results are successfully applied to detection and diagnosis of the short-circuit condition in rotor windings of a high capacity generator.

In this paper, we introduce a general iterative algorithm for finding a common element of the common fixed point set of an infinite family of ${\lambda}_i$-strict pseudo-contractions and the solution set of a general system of variational inclusions for two inverse strongly accretive operators in q-uniformly smooth Banach spaces. Then, we analyze the strong convergence of the iterative sequence generated by the proposed iterative algorithm under mild conditions.

Based on the Kirchhoff hypothesis of normal-remain-normal, the present work analyses piezoelectric laminated plates, wherein poled piezoelectric laminae are transversely isotropic and function as actuators. A quadric electric field is induced inside a piezoelectric lamina under a given applied voltage and mechanical bending. The governing equations for the piezoelectric laminated plate derived from the principle of virtual work in terms of the electric enthalpy have the same forms as those for a conventional composite laminated plate. We use rectangular sandwich plates of Al/PZT/Al and PZT/Al/PZT with four simply supported edges to demonstrate the prediction of the maximum bending stress in the PZT layer. The analytic solutions are verified by three-dimensional finite element analysis.

It is common to assume identical allowable safety factors in static strength defined by mean stress and in fatigue, defined by stress amplitude. Under the load with asymmetrical cycles the safety factor is not the same. In this paper, with the consideration of unequal allowable safety (actors a general method for estimating fatigue reliability of a machine element under a combined state of stress is derived based on the theory proposed by Prof. Kececioglu and a normal distribution. The calculation of fatigue reliability fur limited life is discussed with example.

The present study is concerned with the hydrostatic extrusion process of copper-clad aluminium bar to investigate the basic flow characteristics. Considering the bonding mechanism of bi-metal contact surface as cold pressure welding, the normal pressure and the contact surface expansion are selected as process parameters governing the bonding condition. The critical pressure required for the bonding at the interface is obtained by solving a "local extrusion" using a slip line meyhod. A viscoplastic finite element method is used to analyze the steady state extrusion process. The boundary profile of bi-metal rod is predicted by tracking a particle path adjacent to interface surface. The variations of contact surface area and the normal pressure along the interface profile are predicted and compared to those by experiments.

This paper deals with design of Linear Switched Reluctance Motor (LSRM) considering to normal force. First, we derived design factor from pole arc ratio of stator and mover, and calculated time constant using inductance and resistance. Second, we decided design parameter from design factor using time constant, and analyze characteristics for LSRM using finite element analysis. Finally, we analyzed force characteristic according to design factor.
