  • Earlier taxonomic studies of Korean Scutellaria reported a new record of Scutellaria hastifolia L. in Korea based on three herbarium sheets. During a reexamination of these specimens, we found that the leaf characters of these specimens differ from those in the type specimen of S. hastifolia. Based on a literature survey and confirmation of the type specimen, the specimens identified as S. hastifolia thus far were a misidentification of S. barbata D. Don. S. hastifolia is clearly different from S. barbata by single conspicuous teeth on both sides of the leaf margins and larger leaves. In addition to the distribution sites of the three specimens used in the previous study, a distribution site of the S. barbata was newly found in the southern part of Korea. In this study, we report a new distribution of S. barbata in Korea, correct a previous report of S. hastifolia, describe the morphological characters of S. barbata, and suggest a taxonomic key to Korean Scutellaria including S. barbata.

  • Heavy tailed distributions are useful for modeling actuarial and financial risk management problems. Actuaries often search for finding distributions that provide the best fit to heavy tailed data sets. In the present work, we introduce a new class of heavy tailed distributions of a special sub-model of the proposed family, called a new extended alpha power transformed Weibull distribution, useful for modeling heavy tailed data sets. Mathematical properties along with certain characterizations of the proposed distribution are presented. Maximum likelihood estimates of the model parameters are obtained. A simulation study is provided to evaluate the performance of the maximum likelihood estimators. Actuarial measures such as Value at Risk and Tail Value at Risk are also calculated. Further, a simulation study based on the actuarial measures is done. Finally, an application of the proposed model to a heavy tailed data set is presented. The proposed distribution is compared with some well-known (i) two-parameter models, (ii) three-parameter models and (iii) four-parameter models.

  • It is true that traditional markets have become a great foundation for changes in today's production and distribution. However, with the development of science and information communication gradually, the perspective of distribution has been newly developed. In particular, the digital economy system and the pursuit of perfect competition in the global era have placed a great burden on the traditional market. Accordingly, the government has made numerous efforts to revitalize traditional markets, which has led to the present day. However, the change in production, distribution, and transactional perspectives of newly introduced e-commerce in the position of not being able to deviate from the characteristics of the traditional market, that is, the traditional market, poses another major crisis. Therefore, while maintaining the tradition of the traditional market, the introduction of a new method of electronic trading has a good advantage to become an advanced market, but it has not pursued major changes due to fundamental management methods and small-scale operation. Therefore, I believe that it is urgent to introduce and apply new e-commerce to secure transitional competitiveness in order for the traditional market to be reborn and to pursue change and development into a new advanced market.

  • The study examined effects of psychological change of distribution environment upon commercial areas to investigate consumers' experience and theory and to suggest power of new management strategy for growth of retailers A The study investigated actual conditions of business transaction of hyper market by blind interview. In April, 2016, the author visited 6 manufacturers to do depth interview. The questionnaire between food manufacturers and hyper market investigated the Association of Food Industries in Korea, NH Nonghyup and large manufacturers in July 2012. Questionnaires of 25 companies were used after excluding questionnaire having poor and inadequate answers. The sales commission with large scaled distribution business decreased (0.3 ~ 0.7) to increase additional expenses such as number of salesmen, interior expenses and economic costs (0.7 ~ 40%). (source: Fair Trade Commission). Fair Trade Commission released types and notice of unfair trade of large scaled retail business based on monopoly regulation and fair trade (hereinafter called 'notice of large scaled retail) to prevent large scaled distribution business from doing unfair trade. The notice controled unfair trade at different position between large scaled distribution business and small vendors.

  • In this paper we have studied the effect of water droplet size on nano-particle size distribution using SMPS(Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer)system. It can be seen that the unknown peak at >100 nm was caused by water droplets which did not dry completely when DI water was used as a solvent in the SMPS system. Therefore, it is important to dry water droplets generated from atomizer in the SMPS system when measuring the particle size distribution using less than 100 nm nano-particles in diameter. From this study, It can be concluded that the napion was a useful material as dryer ones and using EAG(Electro Aerosol Generator) as a particle generator was the most effective in reducing the effect of water droplets.

  • We propose a 3rd order blind equalizer that incorporates a new transform method using either square root operation ($\sqrt{x]$) or reciprocal operation (1/x) in order to transform symmetric distribution of PAM signals at the transmitter, to asymmetric one. At the receiver, either the square operation or the reciprocal operation is needed to recover the asymmetrically transformed signals to the original ones after eualization. The reslts of the computer simulation, using the new method are better than the existing transform method using natural logarithm operation by the maximum of 8 dB in MSE. In addition, as the skewness of the asymmetrically transformed distribution has small values, the performances are improved.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the distributions of the native and introduced dandelins in the western Kyonggido area and to determine the environmental factor influencing distribution of dandelions. One hundered and thirty seven study sites were randomly selected along roadsides in urban areas, arable lands, apartment areas and industry regions, and vegetation, dandelion's seed characters and soil acidity were sureyed. Throughout the areas the introduced dandelions were more widely distributed than the native ones. The native dandelions were scarcely distributed in the developed areas and roadsides. The introduced dandelions were dominantly distributed in the new environments where soils were alkalized by the trban development, road pavement, and construction of new buildings, while the native ones were mostly distributed in the rural area with weakly acid soil. The seed production of the introduced ones were two times more than that of the native ones. The seed of the introduced ones were lighter than that of the native ones. The introduced ones yield seeds more than four times a year. These results suggested the urbanization and the seed characters to bet the two dominant factors influencing the distribution of dandelions.

  • Sulfur content of diesel fuel has been cut down to under 10 ppm ULSD (ultra low sulfur diesel) level by environmental regulation with the aim of reducing exhaust emissions. This review discusses the methods and principles of sulfur reduction in diesel and presents an overview of new approaches for ultra-deep desulfurization. The deep HDS (hydrodesulfurization) problems of diesel streams is exacerbated by the inhibiting effect of co-existing aromatics, nitrogen compounds and $H_2S$. The new approaches to deep desulfurization includes non-HDS type processing schemes such as adsorptive, extractive and oxidative desulfurization.

  • Purpose - This paper discusses the heterogeneous fixed fleet vehicle routing problem with pick-up and delivery (HFFVRPPD), for vehicles with different capacities, fixed costs, and travel costs. Research Design, data, methodology - This paper made nine assumptions for establishing a mathematical model to describe HFFVRPPD. It established a practical mathematical model, and because of the non-deterministic polynomial-time hard (NP-hard), improved the traditional simulated annealing algorithm and tested a new algorithm using a certain scale model. Result - We calculated the minimum cost of the heterogeneous fixed fleet vehicle routing problem (HFFVRP) with a single task and, on comparing the results with the actual HFFVRP for the single task alone, observed that the total cost of HFFVRPPD reduced significantly by 46.7%. The results showed that the new algorithm provides better solutions and stability. Conclusions - This paper, by comparing the HFFVRP and HFFVRPPD results, highlights certain advantages of using HFFVRPPD in physical distribution enterprises, such as saving distribution vehicles, reducing logistics cost, and raising economic benefits.

  • This paper presents a new approach to evaluate reliability indices of electric distribution systems using genetic Algorithm (GA). The use of reliability evaluation is an important aspect of distribution system planning and operation to adjust the reliability level of each area. In this paper, the reliability model is based on the optimal load transforming problem to minimize load generated load point outage in each sub-section. This approach is one of the most difficult procedures and become combination problems. A new approach using GA was developed for this problem. GA is a general purpose optimization technique based on principles inspired from the biological evolution using metaphors of mechanisms such as natural selection, genetic recombination and survival of the fittest. Test results for the model system with 24 nodes 29 branches are reported in the paper.
