The national competency standards (NCS) is the national standard for standardizing the skills needed to successfully carry out the duties of industrial sites. It consists of competency units and their sub units. Two standards were developed for the manufacturing of Korean rubber products: rubber compounding and rubber product manufacturing. Each standard consists of ten competency units and their elements. Learning modules will be developed in the near future. It is expected that researchers and workers in the Korean rubber industry will utilize these standards.

As the NCS(National Competency Standards) classification system continued to be developed and supplemented, NCS became widespread. Qualifications were redesigned to actively reflect industry demands, reduce the burden of redundant acquisition of unnecessary qualifications, and to evaluate objective capacities of the workforce. In addition to the learning modules to be developed in the future, previously developed NCS-based learning modules and lectures should be reorganized based on the new qualification design. In this paper, the Java programming subject designed based on NCS was redesigned according to SW new qualification design. Since the redesigned Java programming subjects consider the qualification design direction or qualification roadmap, not only can they be recognized as a test subject in qualification assessment through course evaluation, but also can be used as individual qualification data.

In the midst of the rising need for Industrial Security experts, the development of National Competency Standards(NCS) with regards to industrial security is a very important and urgent task. The NCS standardizes university-level academic curriculum and qualification systems and connects them with the industry's needs. This study has extracted, classified and analyzed security-related jobs and tasks requiring security expertise that is required within NCS. Through this study, many tasks have been confirmed to require security competencies that are different from those in IT-security, physical security that already exist as a NCS tasks. It is expected that the industry's needs of industrial security expertise will be reflected in future NCS development, which will be used as basic data for systematizing industrial security jobs and competency.

National Competency Standards (NCS) need to be introduced to train newly hired staff and to gradually improve employees' work performance in the information security industry. In particular, the introduction of a new NCS curriculum for new hires is important in order to retain and efficiently manage professionals in the information security field. However, the legacy NCS is not clearly designed for the information security field. So a formal curriculum has been suggested for institutions training the information security workforce. Therefore, this study establishes a competency unit based on the types of personnel, their duties, and required knowledge. To select the competency unit, this study reviewed prior research to understand the required skills and work knowledge, and reviewed recruitment-based NCS that public agencies and public and private companies have carried out, including them in the study. The selected competency unit was classified into a required competency unit and an elective competency unit based on the importance of the duties and the demands of training. Through a verification process for the new, licensed career path model in the NCS information and communications field, this study suggests updated NCS competency units and required courses to provide an appropriate NCS curriculum for newly hired employees in the information security industry.

This paper describes the research aimed at improving the evaluation method of practical exams in a field of welding on a national technical qualification examination based on national competency standards (NCS). In this study, new evaluation methods of practical exams on master craftsman welding reflect the latest welding technique trends and are applied to the ability unit and the fulfillment criteria of the national competency standards. The effects are then verified through an advisory conference and demonstration evaluation. The practical exams on the master craftsman welding in the current welding field were analyzed systematically. In the future, the national technical qualification examination of master crafts welding will be applied after completing the revision of the question standards through an expert group in its duty fields based on this research.

NCS development for construction of marine terminal structure was carried out through following procedures such as analysis on characteristics, analysis on duty, development of the first draft for standards, validation of industry sites, duty competency standards through expert committee, and utilizing package. The results were as follows. Firstly, duty competency was classified as levels from 3 to 7. Educational training institutions were followed by 22 universities, 21 colleges, 16 graduate schools, and 10 high schools. Secondly, developed standards were consisted of duty and competency unit. The name of duty was construction of marine terminal structure and competency units were consisted of 9 items as survey on economic effect, evaluation of conditions on construction environment, plan for construction of structure, construction of transfer, mooring, and power equipment, and construction, startup test, and maintenance of terminal structure. 33 competency unit elements below 9 competency units were developed. Thirdly, utilizing package was developed into 3 areas of life-long career path, training criteria, and guidelines for exam according to national competency standards for in order to develop development of labor's career and perform personal management such as hiring and promotion in industry sites.

National Competency Standards (NCS) is a good resource for curriculum development and operations corresponding to the industrial damand. Recently, four-year colleges and universities are committed to a restructuring of the industry demand-driven training courses in order to strengthen competitiveness. However, NCS is focused to train the technical personnel in vocational training institutions(ex. College, Polytechnic University). Accordingly, NCS applications of four-year colleges and universities are hard to find. In this study, we propose a new model for NCS-based curriculum development and operations. Also, NCS was utilized to complement the existing curriculum. This paper includes the following contents; 1) NCS-based curriculum development process, 2) NCS-based course development and operation, 3) learner satisfaction analysis. Finally, this study provide practical implications to four-year colleges and universities to consider NCS application.

The national competency standards (NCS) is a systematize and standardize for skills required to perform their job. The NCS has developed a learning module with materialization and standardize by competence unit element, which is the unit of specific job competency. The existing curriculum is material to gab analysis for use in education training with competence unit element. The existing gab analysis has evaluated subjectively by experts. The gab analysis by experts bring up a subject subjective decision, accuracy lack, temporal and spatial inefficiency by psychological factor. This paper is proposed automated evaluation model for problem resolve of subjective evaluation. This paper use index term extraction, term frequency-inverse document frequency for feature value extraction, cosine similarity algorithm for gab analysis between existing curriculum and competence unit element. This paper was presented similarity mapping table between existing curriculum and competence unit element. The evaluation model in this paper should be complemented by an improved algorithm from the structural characteristics and speed.

Automotive field specialist developed National Competency Standards for Automotive Maintenance to apply for the education and evaluation of automotive maintenance. National Competency Standards scope and system for Automotive Maintenance has been developed and provided Performance Criterion, knowledge, skill, attitude, and evaluation methods for each item. Also it has provided vocational basic knowledge level and qualification frame for automotive maintenance.

This study analyzes the academic achievement of students how much they are related to both NCS(national competency standards)-based education from university and the learning motives(internal motive, external motive) of the students based on current university students. For this study, a survey was conducted among 200 employees and are summarized as follow. First, that both internal and external motives to study were significant to have a good effect on academic achievement of students. Second, NCS-based education to have positive effect on academic achievement.
