$Pb(Zn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-Pb(Fe_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3$계에서의 Perovskite상의 안정성 및 유전특성 (Stabilization of the Perovskite Phase and Dielectric Properties in the System $Pb(Zn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-Pb(Fe_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3$)

  • Stabilization of the perovskite phase and sequence of reactions occuring during calcination were studied with solid solutions formed between Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 and Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3. In the PZN-PFN composition of equal molar ratio, rhombohedral type pyrochlore phase (Pb2Nb2O7) and PbO-rich distorted cubic type pyrochlore phase (Pb3Nb2O8) were coexisted as intermediate phases at temperatures below 85$0^{\circ}C$, and these phases transformed to a stable cubic type pyrochlore phase, Pb3Nb4O13 solid solution and a perovskite solid solution at temperatures above 85$0^{\circ}C$. The major stable phase as increasing sintering temperatures was a perovskite phase in this binary system and prominent suppression of the pyrochlore phase was achieved by substituting Zn2+ with Fe3+ or by increasing sintering temperature. The composition containing 20mol% PZN possessed the best dielectric properties, and the dissipation factor was lower than 5% in all compositions.

열간압연에 의한 Ti-Nb계 합금의 미세조직 및 내식성에 대한 연구 (A study on microstruture and corrosion resistance of Ti-Nb alloys by hot rolling)

  • Pure titanium and Ti6Al4V alloy have been mainly used as implant materials but the cytotoxicity of V, neurotoxicity of Al resulting in Alzheimer disease had been reported. This paper was described the influence of composition of Ti-Nb alloys with 3 wt%Nb, 20 wt%Nb on the microstructure and corrosion resistance. Specimens of Ti alloys were melted in vacuum arc furnace and homogenized at $1000^{\circ}C$ for 24hr. The alloys were rolled in $\beta$ and ${\alpha}+{\beta}$ regions. The corrosion resistance of Ti alloys were evaluated by potentiodymic polarization test in 0.9% NaCl and 5% HCl solutions. The results can be summarized as follows: 1. The microstructure was transformed from $\alpha$ phase to ${\alpha}+{\beta}$ phase by adding Nb 2. The hardness of Ti-20Nb alloy was greater than Cp- Ti, Ti-3Nb alloy. 3. The corrosion resistance of Ti-20Nb alloy was better than that of Cp-Ti, Ti-3Nb alloy in 0.9%NaCl and 5%HCl solutions.

Zr합금의 수소화 반응속도에 미치는 합금원소의 영향

  • Zr합금의 수소화 반응속도에 미치는 합금원소의 영향을 평가하기 위하여 Zr과 Zr-0.8Sn-XNb계열(X=0.2, 0.4, 0.8, 1.0) 및 Zr-0.4Nb-YSn계열(Y=0.5, 0.8, 1.5, 2.0)의 3원계 합금으로 electro-microbalance가 장착된 TGA (thermo-gravimetric apparatus)장치를 이용하여 40$0^{\circ}C$에서 1기압 수소와의 반응에 따른 무게증가를 in-situ로 측정하였다 Sn 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 1.5% 까지는 수소반응에 따른 무게증가율이 낮게 나타났으나 Sn을 2.0% 함유한 Zr-0.4Nb-2.0Sn합금의 경우 가장 높게 나타났다. 이는 Sn의 함량이 증가할수록 수소침투에 대한 저항성이 증가함을 의미하지만 Sn이 고용도 이상 함유되면 Sn을 함유한 다량의 석출물이 대량수소침투의 site로 작용하여 수소침투가 가속화된 것으로 평가된다. Nb의 경우 첨가량을 증가시킬수록 무게증가는 크게 나타났는데 이는 Nb이 수소흡수성이 크기 때문이며 Zr-0.8Sn-0.2Nb 및 Zr-0.8Sn-0.4Nb 합금보다 Zr-0.8Sn-0.8Nb 및 Zr-0.8Sn-1.0Nb 합금의 경우 TEM을 이용한 금속간 석출물(intermetallic precipitates) 분석에서 이러한 석출물들의 평균크기 및 개수가 크게 평가되었고, 또한 Zr-0.8Sn-0.2Nb, Zr-0.8Sn-0.4Nb 합금에서는 관찰이 되지 않는 $\beta$-Zr 석출물이 관찰되었다 이러한 사실로부터 Nb의 큰 수소흡수성에 부가적으로 이러한 석출물들이 수소침투를 가속화 하는 데에 기여하는 것으로 여겨진다.

$Fe:LiNbO_3$ 도파로의 제작 및 광굴절 특성 (Fabrication of $Fe:LiNbO_3$ Waveguides and Their Photorefractive Properties)

  • 본 논문에서는 Fe를 내부확산하여 도우핑한 $Fe:LiNbO_3$ 광도파로의 광굴절 특성을 연구하였다. 먼저 $Fe:LiNbO_3$의 광굴절 특성을 Fe를 도우핑하지 않은 $LiNbO_3$ 와 비교하여 Fe를 도우핑하였을 때 회절효율과 감도가 향상되는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 분위기 가스를 달리하여 내부확산한 시료의 경우, 순수 아르곤 가스에서 내부확산한 $Fe:LiNbO_3$ 광도파로의 회절효율 및 감도가 가장 크며, 감쇠시간은 가장 짧은 결과를 얻었다. 따라서 Fe 내부확산시 아르곤 가스를 분위기 가스로 사용하는 것이 광굴절 효과를 이용한 광스위치의 좋은 특성을 얻을 수 있다.

  • Mg(4 mole%):LiNb$O_3$에서 제 2고조파발생특성을 온도와 직류전장의 함수로 측정하여, Mg:LiNb$O_3$ 결정의 공간적 균일성을 조사 하였다. 발생된 제2고조파및의 세기가 위상정합된 상태의 최대값으로부터 최초로 0이 되는 온도가 결정의 광축으로 가해준 직류전장의 변화에 선형적으로 변위함을 관찰하였다. 이로부터, 최초로 Mg가 4mole% 첨가된 Mg:LiNb$O_3$ 의 전기광계수가 Congruent LiNb$O_3$의 해당하는 값보다 1.5배가 더 큼을 알 수 있었다.

Nb 및 Cr 첨가에 따른 지르코늄 합금의 부식거동 (Corrosion Behavior of Zirconium Alloys with Nb and Cr Addition)

  • The effects of Nb and Cr addition on the microstructure, corrosion and oxide characteristics of Zr based alloys were investigated. The corrosion tests were performed in a pressurized water reactor simulated-loop system at $360^{\circ}C$. The microstructures were examined using OM and TEM, and the oxide properties were characterized by low-angle X-ray diffraction and TEM. The corrosion test results up to 360 days revealed that the corrosion rates were considerably affected by Cr content but not Nb content. The corrosion resistance of the Zr-xNb-0.1Sn-yCr quaternary alloys was improved by an increasing Nb/Cr ratio. The crystal structure of the precipitates was affected by a variation of the Nb/Cr ratio. The Zr-Nb beta-enriched precipitates were mainly formed in the high Nb/Cr ratio alloy while $Zr(NbCr)_2$ precipitates were frequently observed in the low Nb/Cr ratio alloy. The studies of oxide characteristics revealed that the corrosion resistance was related to the crystal structure of the precipitate.

유도결합 플라즈마 파워가 NbN 코팅막의 미세구조, 결정구조 및 기계적 특성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Effect of Inductively Coupled Plasma on the Microstructure, Structure and Mechanical Properties of NbN Coatings)

  • NbN coatings were prepared by ICP (inductively coupled plasma) assisted magnetron sputtering from a Nb metal target in $Ar+N_2$ atmosphere at various ICP powers. Effect of ICP on the microstructure, crystalline structure and mechanical properties of NbN coatings was investigated by field emission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy and nanoindentation measurements. The results show that ICP power has a significant influence on coating microstructure, structure and mechanical properties of NbN coatings. With the increasing of ICP power, coating microstructure evolves from the columnar structure of DC process to a highly dense one. Crystalline structure of NbN coatings were changed from cubic ${\delta}$-NbN to hexagonal ${\beta}-Nb_2N$ with increase of ICP power. The maximum nano hardness of 25.4 GPa with Ra roughness of 0.5 nm was obtained from the NbN coating sputtered at ICP power of 200 W.

Corrosion behavior of refractory metals in liquid lead at 1000 ℃ for 1000 h

  • Lead-based fast reactor (LFR) has become one of the most promising reactors for Generation IV nuclear systems. A developing trend of LFR is high efficiency, along with operation temperatures up to 800 ℃ or even higher. One of key issues in the high-efficiency LFR is corrosion of cladding materials with lead at high temperatures. In this study, corrosion behavior of some refractory metals (Nb, Nb521, and Mo-0.5La) was investigated in static lead at 1000 ℃ for 1000 h. The results showed that Nb and Nb521 exhibited an intense dissolution corrosion with obvious lead penetration after corrosion, and lead penetration extended along the grain boundaries of the specimens. Furthermore, Nb521 showed a better corrosion resistance than that of Nb as a result of the elements of W and Mo included in Nb521. Mo-0.5La showed much better corrosion resistance than that of Nb and Nb521, and no lead penetration could be observed. However, an etched morphology appeared on the surface of Mo-0.5La, indicating the occurrence of corrosion to a certain degree. The results indicate that Mo-0.5La is compatible with lead up to 1000 ℃. While Nb and Nb alloys might be not compatible with lead for high-efficiency LFR at such high temperatures.

네오비움 페롭스카이트($Ca_2NbFe^{3+}O_6$)의 화학조성 및 리트벨트 구조분석 연구 (Chemistry and Rietveld Structure Refinement of Nb-rich Perovskite, $Ca_2NbFe^{3+}O_6$)

  • 캐나다 퀘벡 주 오카지역에서 산출되는 네오비움 페롭스카이트(일명 라트라파이트, $Ca_2NbFe^{3+}O_6$)에 대하여 화학분석과 분말 X선 회절 데이터를 이용한 리트벨트 구조분석을 실시하였다. 라트라파이트는 $CaTiO_3-NaNbO_3-Ca_2NbFe^{3+}O_6$의 연속계열 고용체의 성분을 가지며, 화학분석 결과 평균$(Ca_{1.5}Na_{0.4})\;(Nb_{0.1}Ti_{0.6}Fe_{0.4})O_6$ 리트벨트 구조분석 결과 라트라파이트의 구조는 페롭스카이트($CaTiO_3$)의 결정구조와 유사하지만, Ti 이온이 Nb와 $Fe^{3+}$에 의해 치환되면서 상당히 뒤틀리고, $TiO_6$ 팔면체가 페롭스카이트에 비해 서로 기울어져 있는 모습을 보여준다 새롭게 결정된 라트라파이트의 공간군은 Pbnm, 단위포는 a=5.4474(4), b=5.5264(4), c=7.7519(5) ${\AA},\;V=233.4(3){\AA}^3$이다.

Nb이 첨가된 Ti합금의 내식성 및 생체안정성 (Effects of Nb Addition on Corrosion Resistance and Cytotoxicity Behavior of Ti Alloys)

  • The corrosion resistance and cytotoxicity behavior of Ti alloys were studied as a function of Nb contents(3wt.%Nb, 20wt.%Nb, 40wt.%Nb). Ti-Nb alloys were melted by vacuum arc furnace and then rolled to 50% reduction ratio after homogenized at 105$0^{\circ}C$ for 24hrs. The corrosion resistance of Ti-Nb alloys were investigated by potentiodynamic polarization test in the 0.9% NaCl and 5% HCI solution. Biocompatibility of Ti-Nb alloys was evaluated by cytotoxicity test. The results can be summarized as follows 1) The microstructure change from equiaxial to acicular and the increased $\beta$ phase in Ti-Nb alloys were obtained as the Nb content increased. 2) For the corrosion test in the solution of 0.9% NaCl and 5% HCI, the corrosion behavior of Ti-Nb alloys was similar to ASTM grade 2 CP Ti. 3) For the cytotoxicity test, Ti-Nb alloys showed excellent biocompatibility compared to ASTM grade 2 CP Ti, 316L STS and Co-Cr alloys.
