  • This research has a purpose to examine the actual conditions of natural dyeing program as a personal learning experience, participants' characteristics and common people's interest on natural dyeing nowadays. To examine the actual conditions of natural dyeing center and programs, many web sites and newspapers dealing with natural dyeing were used as main resources. As common people's interest on natural dyeing increased, there were a lot of natural dyeing centers in around country. To examine the interest on natural dyeing and the participants' characteristics of natural dyeing program, the data was obtained from a convenient survey of 326 respondents over 15 years old during 15th, May~30th, July in 2006. Almost 40% of respondents were interested in natural dyeing, but only 19% of respondents had ever participated in natural dyeing experience program. The participants' characteristics such as motivation, participating time, dyeing sources and materials, etc. were examined. Almost 65% of respondents were satisfied with natural dyeing experience. As long as people have interest on natural dyeing, Industrialization of natural dyeing will be advanced.

  • In order to organize various places for science experience study, this study gathered and analyzed prior research on science experience study and various science experience perated in school. To that end, a total of 162 relevant prior studies of literature published from 2000 to 2016 were collected and 2,201 cases of science experience study conducted in 2015 were collected and analyzed. The place where the science experiential learning was done is divided into three areas of natural ecology, cultural history, facility experiential learning study, and the characteristics of participating subjects are examined. In terms of the number of articles published in the field of science-related experiential learning areas, 83 ecological experience study sites (51.2%), facilities institution experience study sites 56 (34.6%), and cultural history experience study books 23 (14.2%). Through this study, it was found out that research tendency to analyze science - related attitudes became prominent by setting study subjects using natural objects around and learning to play while playing and playing in nature. There was also an analysis by subjects of participation in science related experience learning centers. Cultural history experiential learning field was significantly lower than previous studies. In the lower grades, nature ecological experience learning was mainly performed. Combining the above findings, it can provide implications for the development of science-related experience activities. First, it is necessary to develop a technology-related experience learning center using local community resources. Second, it is necessary to expand the culture and history experience learning center related to science. Third, we need an education support center to support the expansion and operation of such a technology-related cultural history learning center.

  • This research was aimed at developing the program using the natural circumstances in Jeju Oreum as the basis of environmental education. The students were inquired about how these activities influence the environmental literacy of elementary students. The result of this study were as follows; First, the experimental group applied experience activities to the developed program to contribute to the improvement of environmental literacy. This was then compared to the control group to which theoretical classes were conducted. Second, Jeju Oreum Experience learning program has evenly influenced the elements of environmental literacy divided by the four goal levels of environmental education. As a result of the research, the Natural Experience Activities on the basis of natural circumstance is considered to affect the elementary students' environmental literacy in positive, effective manner. Consequently, the Environmental Education in a school or society should develop programs that apply to natural circumstances as a field of Environmental Education.

  • Ecosystems of the southwestern tidal flats in Korean peninsula have been seriously injured by human activities. The results are mainly due to the lack of public recognition and education on tidal flats. In particular, thoughtless visitors in tidal flats are giving rise up damages because of non-systematic experience programs to tidal flat ecosystems. Therefore, experience programs friendly to natural tidal flats are necessary as a plan to reserve tidal flats and to enhance the effects of environment education on the flats. Experience learning programs on tidal flats can divide into direct experience, indirect experience and local society works. Direct experience work must undergo tidal flats directly and consider on forming the flats with natural refinement functions. Indirect experience includes deeper knowledge on role, circumstance and ecosystems of the flats on the bases of direct experience on the flats. In addition, local society learning must have the feeling and understanding on socio-cultural characteristics of local society itself through above two works. Experience activity would be a kind of injuring one to tidal flats. However, appropriately planned experience and education works on tidal flats could be sustainable development to attract desirable human activity on coastal ecosystems.

  • As recognition and polices for plans to preserve natural resources and to develop environment-friendly space in school education is developed, not only organization of curriculums related to these is required but also facilities for the education are indispensable. Therefore, this study tries to suggest several standards on matters including kinds and scale of facilities and the introduction of species by facilities required for outdoor teaming spaces for environmental education in the elementary school system. The methods of this study include researching various records related to environmental education in elementary school, researching the present condition of outdoor learning space installed and operating in the existing schools by making an on-the-spot survey, and analyzing appearance frequencies of plants and animals displayed in the text. In addition, the actual conditions of the facility use and management were investigate through a questionnaire, We chose and diagrammed a model of the installed facilities by putting the results together. For analyses the investigated eight schools, were categorized as ‘facilities-arranged type’or ‘connection type with ecological park’. The first type distributed and arranged facilities, including meteorological observatory, rocky park, experience-learning area, ecological pond, animal-breeding farm and field-leaning area into appropriate locations according to the site conditions of the school while the second type created a natural learning place by integrating several facilities and arranging areas such as an animal-breeding farm and experience-learning area into appropriate sites. In this study, essential facilities for outdoor learning are classified into ecological park, experience-loaming area, field loaming area, and for natural learning, meteorological observatory, animal-breeding farm, and greenhouse.

  • VR and AR are widely used in many applications to provide more immersive visualization and natural interaction for learning and experiencing virtual but realistic tasks. Energy saving is considered as one of the most important issues throughout the world in order to overcome global warming and energy crisis. In particular, the awareness of home energy saving is regarded as a first step to deal with this issue. In this paper, we suggest a new learning environment using virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) for home energy saving experience. In particular, it presents a comparative study of the user experience in home energy awareness using immersive virtual reality and mobile augmented reality. The first person user experience using immersive VR wearing head mounted display (HMD) and the third person user experience using mobile AR are implemented and systematically compared with each other in terms of the learning effect of energy saving and qualitative usability. Implementation results will be given to show the advantage and effectiveness of the proposed approach.
