Evaluation of the future agricultural drought severity of South Korea by using reservoir drought index (RDI) and climate change scenarios (저수지 가뭄지수와 기후변화 시나리오를 이용한 우리나라 미래 농업가뭄 평가)

  • The purpose of this study is to predict agricultural reservoir storage rate (RSR) in a month. This algorithm was developed by multiple linear regression model (MLRM) which included the past 3 months RSRs data and the future climate change scenarios. In order to improve use of predicted RSR, this study need the severe criteria in terms of drought. So, the predicted RSR was indexed as the 3 months reservoir drought index (RDI3) and then it was disaggregated into drought duration, severity, and intensity. For the future RSR estimation by climate change scenarios, the 6 RCP 8.5 scenarios of HadGEM2-ES, CESM1-BGC, MPI-ESM-MR, INM-CM4, FGOALS-s2, and HadGEM3-RA were used in three future evaluation periods (S1: 2011~2040, S2: 2041~2070, S3: 2071~2099). The future S3 period of HadGEM2-ES scenario which has the biggest increase in precipitation and temperature showed the largest decrease to 60.2% among the 6 scenarios compared to the historical RSR (1976~2005) 77.3%. In contrast, INM-CM4 scenario which has smallest changes in precipitation and temperature in S3 period showed the smallest decrease to 72.8%. For the CESM1-BGC and MPI-ESM-MR, FGOALS-s2, and HadGEM3-RA, the S3 period RSR showed 72.6%, 72.6%, 67.4%, and 64.5% decrease respectively. The future severe drought condition of RDI3 below -0.25 showed the increase trend for the number and severity up to -2.0 during S3 period.

Factors Influencing Health Promotion Behavior in Patients with Pulmonary Tuberculosis (폐결핵 환자의 건강증진행위와 관련요인)

  • This study was conducted to identify the health promotion behavior of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis and examine the factors influencing this behavior. The subjects were 152 outpatients who were treated for pulmonary tuberculosis at the national tuberculosis hospital located in M City. Data were collected from July to September, 2016 and analyzed using the t-test, ANOVA, Duncan's test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. Health promotion behavior was negatively correlated with physical symptoms, perceived barriers, and depression, but positively correlated with self-efficacy. The most powerful variable influencing health promotion behavior was depression and the model showed an explanatory power of 63.5%. The results of this study suggest that it is necessary to employ a variety of strategies to practice and maintain the health promotion behavior of pulmonary tuberculosis patients to decrease their depression and provide psychological support.

Development of Heat-Health Warning System Based on Regional Properties between Climate and Human Health (대도시 폭염의 기후-보건학적 특성에 기반한 고온건강경보시스템 개발)

  • Heat wave is a disaster, which increases morbidity and mortality in temperate regions. Climate model results indicate that both intensity and frequency of heat wave in the future will be increased. This study shows the result about relationship between excess mortality and offensive airmass in 7 metropolitan cities, and an operational Heat-Health Warning System (HHWS) in Korea. Using meteorological observations, the Spatial Synoptic Classification (SSC) has been used to classify each summer day from 1982 to 2007 into specific airmass categories for each city. Through the comparative study analysis of the daily airmass type and the corresponding daily mortality rate, Dry Tropical (DT), and Moist Tropical plus (MT+) were identified as the most offensive airmasses with the highest rates of mortality. Therefore, using the multiple linear regression, forecast algorithm was produced to predict the number of the excess deaths that will occur with each occurrence of the DT and MT+ days. Moreover, each excess death forecast algorithm was implemented for the system warning criteria based on the regional acclimatization differences. HHWS will give warnings to the city's residents under offensive weather situations which can lead to deterioration in public health, under the climate change.

A Study on the Convergent Factors Related to Self-leadership of Female Freshmen in Health Majors Studying TOEIC (토익을 학습하는 보건계열 신입여대생의 셀프리더쉽과 관련된 융복합적 요인 분석)

  • This study analyzed convergent factors related to self-leadership of female freshmen in health majors studying TOEIC. The survey was conducted from April 29, 2019 to May 10, 2019 using unregistered self-administered questionnaire for 201 female freshmen in health majors and they were randomly selected from TOEIC class in college located in J city. The results of hierarchical multiple regression analysis show the following. The self-leadership of respondents turned out to be significantly higher in following groups: a group in which self-competence is higher, a group in which subdivision task self-efficacy and coping self-efficacy is higher, and a group in which subdivision chance of locus control from locus of control is lower. Their explanatory power was 49.7%. The results of the study indicate that the efforts to manage self-competence, self-efficacy, and locus of control are required to improve the self-leadership of female freshmen in health majors studying TOEIC. These results can be used for academic counseling guidance to enhance self-leadership of female freshmen in health majors studying TOEIC. In the future research, it is necessary to establish and analyze a structural equation model that affects self-leadership of male and female college students in health majors studying TOEIC.

Effects of Nursing Students' Knowledge, Attitude and Nursing Professionalism on Confidence in Performance of Patient Safety (졸업학년 간호대학생의 환자안전 지식, 태도 및 간호전문직관이 환자안전 수행자신감에 미치는 효과)

  • This research study was conducted to investigate the effect of knowledge, attitude and nursing professionalism on the confidence of the performance of nursing students who had experience with clinical practice and also to provide basic data for the development of nursing students' curriculum. The subjects who participated in this study were 286 students in the 4th year of nursing at two colleges in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions. The research data was analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 program. Confidence in performance of patient safety was higher for the women than for men, and for the students of an older age and higher academic achievement. Confidence in performance of patient safety was positively related to knowledge (r=.25, p=.000), attitude (r=.39, p=.000), nursing professionalism (r=.33, p=.000) and all these had statistical significance. On the multiple regression analysis, the coefficient of determination ($R^2$) was .49 and the explanatory power of the model was 49.2% (F=24.04, p=.000). The most important factor affecting confidence in performance of patient safety was the experience of having undergone patient safety education. Based on these results, it is necessary to seek various educational methods to expand the concept of patient safety from the beginning of the undergraduate course work. Especially, we think that various education strategies such as simulation education methods or information videos are needed to develop scenarios related to patient safety.

A Study on the Convergent Factors Related to the State Anxiety of Female Administrative Staff in Medical Institution (의료기관 여성 행정직원의 상태불안과 관련된 융복합적 요인)

  • This paper was attempted to identify the convergent factors related to the state anxiety of Female Administrative Staff in Medical Institutions(FASMI). For randomly selected 226 FASMI at 27 medical institutions in J region, from July 4, 2018 to July 25, 2018, we conducted an anonymous self-administered questionnaires. As a result of hierarchical multiple regression analysis, the state anxiety of respondents turned out to be significantly higher in following groups: a group in which subjective happiness is lower, a group in which cynicism, sub-areas of job burnout are higher, a group in which psychosocial stress is higher, the explanatory power of them was 57.3%. In conclusion, in order to lower the state anxiety of FASMI, it is necessary to increase subjective happiness, lower cynicism, which is a sub-area of job burnout, and to lower psychosocial stress. These results could be used in hospital job management and mental health education to lower the level of state anxiety in FASMI. Future research needs to develop and interpret a structural equation model that affects the state anxiety of FASMI.

A Study on The Influence Factors of Self-Efficacy, Job Performance, and Job Satisfaction of University Hospital Nurses (대학병원간호사의 자기효능감, 업무수행능력이 직무만족도에 미치는 영향요인)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of University hospital nurses' self-efficacy and job performance on job satisfaction. The subjects of this study were 130 nurses working at a university hospital in C city and collected data using structured questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis using spss 25.0. The results showed that the self-efficacy was 3.24 points for the average score, 2.74 points for the job performance, and 3.10 points for the job satisfaction. Self-efficacy, job performance, and job satisfaction were statistically correlated. The factors affecting job satisfaction were self-efficacy (${\beta}=.39$, p<.001), age at 30~34 years (${\beta}=-.27$, p=.001), Operating Room(${\beta}=-.17$, p=.029), Medical ward (${\beta}=-.17$, p=.025) and unmarried (${\beta}=-.20$, p=.012) and the explanatory power of the model was 30.4%. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop a program to improve the job satisfaction considering the self-efficacy, age, working department of hospital nurse.

A Study on the Convergent Factors Related to Turnover Intention among Some Administrative Staff in Medical Institution (의료기관 일부 원무행정직의 이직의도와 관련된 융복합적 요인)

  • This paper investigated convergent factors to turnover intention among some Administrative Staff in Medical Institutions(ASMI). The survey used self-administered questionnaires for 320 administrative staffs of 27 medical institutions in the J region, selected arbitrarily from July 2, 2018 to July 27, 2018. The hierarchical multiple regression analysis shows the following results. The turnover intention of respondents turned out to be significantly higher in following groups: a group in which organizational commitment is lower, a group in which organizational loyalty is higher, a group in which exhaustion, cynicism, reduced professional efficacy, sub-areas of job burnout are higher. The results show explanatory power of 50.9%. The results of the study indicate that the efforts, to increase organizational commitment and organizational loyalty, and to decrease exhaustion, cynicism, reduced professional efficacy, sub-areas of job burnout, are required to improve the turnover intention among ASMI. These results could be used in hospital organization personnel management and industrial health education to lower the level of turnover intention in ASMI, vocational aptitude education of health care college students. In following studies, it is necessary to present and analyze the structural model affecting the turnover intention of ASMI.

A Study on Factors Influencing the Recovery of People with a Mental Disorder: With a Focus on the Moderating Effects of Family Resilience (정신장애인의 회복에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 : 가족탄력성의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze empirically influential factors related to the recovery of people with a mental disorder and also the moderating effects of family resilience. For this purpose, the investigator developed a research model that took into consideration both the positive and negative elements of individual and social factors based on the ecological, psychological, social, and ecosystem perspectives in previous studies and checked their causal effects and the moderating effects of family resilience in statistical significance. The subjects include 112 clients at an institution for people with a mental disorder. Data was collected with an interview based on a structured questionnaire. Collected data was put to the multiple regression analysis. The analysis results show that there was statistical significance in self-esteem, social stigma, and social support excluding symptoms and that the moderating effects of family resilience had positive(+) synergistic effects only on self-esteem and social support. Based on these results, the study made proposals about practice strategies including the establishment of internal and external support systems to make an effective approach to recovery and the systemization of family resilience and supportive strategies to promote the smooth recovery of people with a mental disorder through the reinforcement of programs related to the confirmed positive elements of self-esteem and social support.

Analysis of the Convergent Relationship between Stress Factors and Depression Levels in a College Students (일개 대학생의 스트레스 요인 및 우울 수준의 융복합적 관련성 분석)

  • This study examined the convergent relationship of stress factors related to the depression level(CES-D) of a college student. The questionnaire was used using an unregistered self-administered questionnaire for 304 students from a college located in J area from Nov. 12, 2018 to Dec. 14, 2018. The hierarchical multiple regression analysis results are as follows: The depression level of respondents turned out to be significantly higher in following groups: a group in which job seeking stress(CMI) is higher, a group in which academic burnout(MBI-SS) is higher, a group in which anxiety(BAI) are higher. The results show explanatory power of 60.7%. The results of the study indicate that the efforts, to decrease job seeking stress, to decrease academic burnout and, to decrease anxiety, are required to decrease the depression level among college students. These results can be utilized in various interventional efforts for academic counseling and guidance, job counseling, and psychological and emotional stability that lowers the depression level in college students. Following studies requires the presentation and analysis of structural models for the structural model that effects the depression levels of college students.
