Theory and Design of Near-Optimal MIMO OFDM Transmission System for Correlated Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels

  • We consider channel-coded multi-input multi-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission and obtain a condition on its signal for it to attain the maximum diversity and coding gain. As this condition may not be realizable, we propose a suboptimal design that employs an orthogonal transform and a space-frequency interleaver between the channel coder and the multi-antenna OFDM transmitter. We propose a corresponding receiving method based on block turbo equalization. Attention is paid to some detailed design of the transmitter and the receiver to curtail the computational complexity and yet deliver good performance. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed transmission technique can outperform the conventional coded MIMO OFDM and the MIMO block single-carrier transmission with cyclic prefixing.

다중 채널 디지털 보청기 알고리즘의 고정 소수점 연산 최적화 (Fixed-point Optimization of a Multi-channel Digital Hearing Aid Algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 저 전력 시스템에 적합한 고정 소수점 연산기로 구현된 다중 채널 디지털 보청기 알고리즘의 최적화 기법을 제시한다. 먼저 입력 신호를 고속 MDCT(modified discrete cosine transform) 방법을 사용하여 주파수 대역 분할함으로써 알고리듬의 복잡도를 최소화 하였고, MDCT 출력을 비선형 대역 분할 과정을 거쳐 채널별 그룹핑을 한 다음, 각 채널 신호를 난청인의 청각 손실 정도에 따라 구성한 라우드니스 보상 함수(loudness compensation function: LCF)표를 이용하여 이득을 조절하고, 최종적으로 TDAC 기법을 구현하는 IMDCT(Inverse MDCT) 변환을 거쳐 보상된 출력을 합성한다. 모든 과정은 16비트 정수 연산으로 구현되며, 이득을 계산하기 위해 측정되는 로그 단위의 연산 과정은 미리 계산된 테이블과 고속 탐색 알고리듬을 이용하여 구현된다. 구성된 보청기 알고리즘의 성능을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 평가하였다.

Low Latency Synchronization Scheme Using Prediction and Avoidance of Synchronization Failure in Heterochronous Clock Domains

  • For the performance-efficient integration of IPs on an SoC utilizing heterochronous multi-clock domains, we propose a synchronization scheme that causes low latency overhead when data are crossing clock boundaries. The proposed synchronization scheme is composed of a clock predictor and a synchronizer. The clock predictor of a sender clock domain produces a predicted clock that is used in a receiver clock domain to detect possible synchronization failures in advance. When the possible synchronization failures are detected, a synchronizer at the receiver delays data-capture times to avoid the possible synchronization failures. From the simulation of the proposed scheme through SPICE modeling using a Chartered $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process, we verified the functionalities and timing behavior of the clock predictor and the synchronizer. The simulation results show that the clock predictor produces a predicted clock before a synchronization failure, and the synchronizer samples data correctly using the predicted clock.

Computation of serrated trailing edge flow and noise using a hybrid zonal RANS-LES

  • The evaluation of a zonal RANS-LES approach is documented for the prediction of broadband noise generated by the flow past unmodified and serrated airfoil trailing edges at a high Reynolds number. A multi-domain decomposition is considered, where the acoustic sources are resolved with a LES sub-domain embedded in the RANS domain. A stochastic vortex method is used to generate synthetic turbulent perturbations at the RANS-LES interface. The simulations are performed with a general-purpose unstructured control-volume code FLUENT. The far-field noise is calculated using the aeroacoustic analogy of Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings. The results of the simulation are validated through the full-scaled wind turbine acoustic measurements. It is found that the present approach is adequate for predicting noise radiation of serrated trailing edge flow for low noise rotor system.

  • Turbulent flows with wavy wall are simulated using Residual-based Variational Multiscale Method (RB-VMS) which is proposed by Bazilves et al(2007) as new Large Eddy Simulation methodology. Incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are integrated using Isogeometric analysis which adopt the basis function as NURBS. The Reynolds number is 6760 based on the bulk velocity and averaged channel height. And the amplitude (${\alpha}/{\lambda}$) of wavy wall is 0.05. The computational domain is $2{\lambda}{\times}1.05{\lambda}{\times}{\lambda}$ in the streamwise, wall normal and spanwise direction. Mean quantities and turbulent statistics near wavy wall are compared with DNS results of Cherukat et al.(1998). The predicted results show good agreement with reference data.

  • The purpose of this study is to design of a linear feeder using a multi body dynamic program, and to analyze a dynamic motion of the feeder that can transport small mechanical parts uniformly. In order to establish the analysis model of the linear feeder, each parts of the feeder are divided into two types which the rigid and flexible body. For the dynamic simulation, RecurDyn, which is a commercial multi-body dynamic package, is used. We also consider the design parameters for optimal dynamic motion such as centroid, stiffness, and mass of the feeder system. In order to analyze the dynamic motion of a linear feeder, the displacements of the feeder are measured by several accelerometers when it is in an operating condition. After the signal data from the accelerometers are captured in the time domain, the dynamic motion in the space is visualized by using graphic computer software.

  • A multi body simulation (MBS) model is developed for predicting the impact harshness of the vehicle. Impact harshness is the vehicle performance to evaluate the impulsive vibration behavior during driving over an obstacle of the road. Thus, the approach is simulated on the time domain for considering the transient behavior of the vehicle. The validity of vehicle component modeling of bushes, dampers and structure flexibilities is verified. The simulations are compared with the test results in both of vertical and longitudinal directions. In particular, the vertical vibration of the vehicle is significantly affected by the body flexibility. Through the sensitivity analysis, main factors for the impact harshness performance are investigated.

  • 본 논문에서는 다중안테나 OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 시스템에서의 인접 셀 혹은 인접 섹터 간섭제거 능력을 갖는 MIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Output) 수신 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 시간축에서의 Filtering 기법에 관한 기존의 연구와는 다르게 주파수 영역에 적용이 가능한 Pre-filtering 기법을 채널 추정을 위한 파일럿 심벌만을 이용하여 구현하였다. 또한 제안된 기법은 간섭성분이 MIMO(C-SM(Collaborative-Spatial Multiplexing)) 뿐만이 아니라 SIMO(Single-Input Multi-Out)이더라도 적용이 가능함을 이론적으로 검증하였다. 그리고 제안된 수신 알고리즘을 검증하기 위하여 IEEE 802.16e 표준의 UL-PUSC SR off에서의 모의실험을 수행하였다. 이를 통하여 제안된 알고리즘이 간섭 성분의 종류에 관계없이 적용이 가능함을 확인하였다. 또한 간섭 성분의 영향이 큰 경우에 대해서도 우수한 성능을 보장하여 시스템 Throughput 향상을 보장할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 실용설계의 새로운 도구로써 제어계의 강인성, 성능, 안정성 등의 설계지침을 정량화하기 쉽고 해가 효율적으로 구해져 주목받는 선형행렬부등식을 이용하여 강인한 LMI 제어기를 설계한다. 우선 다층상 구조물의 진동제어를 위해 수학적 모델링을 행하고 적분형 서보계를 적용한 LMI 제어 기법으로 상태 피드백 제어칙을 설계한다. 다음으로 설계한 제어칙으로 시스템 불확실성의 변동에 대해 시간영역의 설계사양을 고려한 경우와 고려하지 않은 경우에 대하여 시뮬레이션을 행하고 실제 적용 가능성을 검토한다.
