A study of the kinematic characteristic of a coupling device between the buffer system and the flexible pipe of a deep-seabed mining system

  • This paper concerns the kinematic characteristics of a coupling device in a deep-seabed mining system. This coupling device connects the buffer system and the flexible pipe. The motion of the buffer system, flexible pipe and mining robot are affected by the coupling device. So the coupling device should be considered as a major factor when this device is designed. Therefore, we find a stable kinematic device, and apply it to the design coupling device through this study. The kinematic characteristics of the coupling device are analyzed by multi-body dynamics simulation method, and finite element method. The dynamic analysis model was built in the commercial software DAFUL. The Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) method is applied to build the deep-seabed environment. Hydrodynamic force and moment are applied in the dynamic model for the FSI method. The loads and deformation of flexible pipe are estimated for analysis results of the kinematic characteristics.

Development of Multi Sample Array System Based on Pneumatic Valve (공압식 미세밸브를 이용한 다중유체 배열장치 개발)

  • We present a multi-sample array device based on a pneumatic system. Solenoid valves were used to control a micro valve in a pneumatic system. The use of a compressor together with a vacuum pump ensured that one outlet could supply both compression and vacuum pressure. The multi-sample array device was fabricated using conventional photolithography and PDMS casting. The device was composed of a multiplexer, sample array, and rinsing. The multiplexer could control four sample solutions injecting into the sample array chamber. Sample solution not arrayed was removed by DI-water from the rinsing inlet. To prevent trapping of microbubbles in the channel during injection of sample solution into the device, surfactant was added in PDMS solution to serve as a hydrophilic surface treatment. As a result, the device could be used as a sample array for 64 cases, using four samples and three columns of three chambers.

  • Recently, the 'mobility' is one of the essential item in the field of IT. This means that 'mobility' are good mediators to get collecting user's behavior and provide freedom of mobility service for user's. This paper is proposed a mobility process orchestration(MPO) model that provide multimedia to various devices. The orchestration model provides the structure and function that can be objectify a physical devices in a user's environment to provide orchestrated service of various devices to user using a concept of MSMP(Multi Source Multi Platform). Also, using the concept of Choreography can be extracted appropriate device of the various media formats for harmonious service.

Electroluminescent Properties of White Light-Emitting Device Using Photoconductive Polymer and Anthracene Derivatives (광전도성 고분자와 안트라센 유도체를 이용한 백색 전계발광소자의 발광 특성)

  • Organic electroluminescence devices were made from 1,4-bis-(9-anthrylvinyl)benzene (AVB) and 1,4-bis-(9-aminoanthryl)benzene (AAB) anthracene derivatives. Device structure was ITO/AVB/PANI(EB)/Al (multi-layer device) and ITO/AAB:DCM/Al(single-layer device). In these devices, AVB, polyaniline(emeraldine base) (PANI(EB)) and AAB were used as the emitting material. 4-(dicyanomethylene)-2-methyl-6-p-(dimethylamino)styryl-4H -pyran(DCM) was used as red fluorescent dopant. We studied change of fluorescence wavelength with concentration of DCM doped in AAB. The ionization potential (IP) and optical band gap (Eg) were measured by cyclic voltammetry and UV-visible spectrum. We compared with difference of emitting wavelength between photoluminescence and electroluminescence spectrum. In case of the multi-layer device, PANI and AVB EL spectra have similar wave pattern to each PL spectrum and when PAM and AVB were used at the same time, and multi-layer device showed that a balanced recombination and radiation kom PANI and AVB. In case of the single-layer device, with the increase of DCM concentration, the blue emission decreases and red emission increases. This indicates that DCM was excited by the energy transfer from AAB to DCM or the direct recombination at the dopant sites due to carrier trapping, or both. The device with $1.0wt\%$ DCM concentration gave white light.

  • According to the 2021 Mobile Augmented Reality Market Report by Korea Innovation Foundation, the augmented reality market has been growing recently due to the growth of the mobile augmented reality market along with the development of smartphones. In order to provide augmented reality services to mobile users, it is necessary to create native apps for each device. However, there are problems such as maintenance costs for multi-platform and low accessibility due to app download. Recently, the construction of augmented reality system in a web-based environment by using the WebXR Device API is in progress, but it is judged that the system using the WebXR Device API is still in the research stage. In this paper, a responsive multi-platform environment was built using the WebXR Device API, Three JS, and React, and a function to provide augmented reality service to mobile and web users was implemented. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that the interlocking of augmented reality was successfully implemented in a responsive web environment, and look forward to the augmented reality service operating on the web in the future.

  • The needs of larger screen in mobile device would be increased as the time of ubiquitous and convergence is coming. And, the type of mobile device has been evolved from bar, slide to row. Recently, the study on the multi-display screen which has seamless gap between two display panel has been published, and moreover the System On Chip(SOC) design strategy of core chip has been the most promising Field-Programmable Gate Array(FPGA) technology in the display system. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed the design technique of SOC and evaluated the effectiveness with Very high speed Hardware Description Language(VHDL) Intellectual Property (IP) for the operation of multi display device driver. Also, This IP design would be to allow any kind of user interface in control system.

  • Recently, the machine tools called multi-task machines, which mounted rotary axes on the table or spindle are used increasingly. Accordingly, multi-task machine tool takes a growing interest on the motion accuracy of feed drive system. In this study, measurement and diagnosis of motion errors ware attempted from circular pattern obtained by using DBB (Double ball bar) device. Those were obtained at both clockwise and counter clockwise motions in mutually perpendicularly intersecting three planes. The reliability of error measurement system for multi-task machine tool was verified by the direct test cutting.

  • Charge compensation effects in multi-resurf structure make possible to obtain high breakdown volatage and low on-resistance in vertical MOSFET. In this paper, electrical characteristics of the vertical MOSFET with multi epitaxial layer is presented. Proposed device has n and p-pillar for obtaining the charge compensation effects and The doping concentration each pillar is varied from $5{\times}10^{14}\;to\;1{\times}10^{16}/cm^3$. The thickness of the proposed device also varied from $400{\mu}m\;to\;500{\mu}m$. Due to the charge compensation effects, 4500V of breakdown voltage can be obtained.
