  • The studies of multi-hop wireless networks are active as the new communication media, which does not require any fixed communication infrastructure. One of application of the networks is local information distribution service, which is useful far daily activities in certain geographically restricted region or community within a radius of several kilometers. In this paper, MID-Net, which is the network enabling such distribution service, and effective information distribution algorithm MCMS are proposed. The behavior of the MID-Net is characterized by the waiting time function, three types of the functions are proposed in this paper.

  • Energy recovery in the regenerative region is very important when SRM(Switched Reluctance Motor) is used in traction drive. This is because that to reduce energy loss during mechanical braking and/or to have a high efficiency drive during braking. To control excitation voltage in motor operation and regenerative voltage in the generator operation in the SRM, multi-level voltage control is effective. This paper suggests multi-level inverter which is useful for motoring and regenerative operation in SRM.

  • This paper presents a procedure of implementing a robust controller for a paper-making plant in DCSs. A paper-making process generally has triple problems to automatically tune its output qualities : Long transport delays which are not able to be simply linearized. The transfer matrix of the process is not square. And every plant model has some uncertainty in low and middle frequency region. To tackle these problems, a multi-input / multi-output (MIMO) plant model having some uncertainty was derived by considering some physical and mechanical principles of the process. Then a MIMO robust \ulcornercontroller is designed and implemented in a real DCS as function block type. Som...

  • The multi-region model, to describe preferential flow, is an equation representing solute transport in soils by dividing soil into numerous pore groups and using the hydraulic properties of the soil. As the model partial differential equation (PDE) is solved numerically with finite difference methods. a modified equivalent partial differential equation(MEPDE) of the partial differential equation of the multi-region model is derived to analyze the accuracy and consistency of the solution of the model PDE and the Von Neumann method is used to analyze the stability of the finite difference scheme. The evaluation obtained from the MEPDE indicated that the finite difference scheme was found to be consistent with the model PDE and had the second order accuracy The stability analysis is performed to analyze the model PDE with the amplification ratio and the phase lag using the Von Neumann method. The amplification ratio of the finite difference scheme gave non-dissipative results with various Peclet numbers and yielded the most high values as the Peclet number was one. The phase lag showed that the frequency component of the finite difference scheme lagged the true solution. From the result of the stability analysis for the model PDE, it is analyzed that the model domain should be discretized in the range of Pe < 1.0 and Cr < 2.0 to obtain the more accurate solution.

  • In this paper, a state feedback gain controller using linear matrix inequality(LMI) for the multi-objective synthesis is designed, in the multi-layer structure with integral type servo system. The design objectives include $H_{\infty}$ performance, asymptotic disturbance rejection, time-domain constraints, on the closed-loop pole location. The results of computer simulation show the validity of the designed controller.

  • This paper describes Data Acquisition & Analysis System(DAS) for analysis of the multi-function radar. There are various information - beam probing data, clutter map data, plot data, target tracking data, RT tracking data, radar signal processing data, interface data - this device saves. The most important thing of data analysis is that a researcher gets a view of the whole data. The DAS intergrates with all of the data and provides overall information on the time matters occur. This is very useful advantage for approaching the matter easily. System algorithms of multi-function radar are improved by using this advantage. As a result of, range blank region have fallen about 72% and it is able to keep track in jammer environment.

  • In this paper, a method for multi-physics analysis of the temperature-dependent properties of an oil-immersed transformer is discussed. To couple thermal fields with electromagnetic and fluid fields, an algorithm employing a user defined function (UDF) is proposed. Using electromagnetic analysis, electric power loss dependent on temperature rise is calculated; these are used as input data for multi-physics analysis in order to predict the temperature rise. A heat transfer coefficient is applied only at the outermost boundary between transformer and the atmosphere in order to reduce the analysis region. To verify the validity of the proposed method, the predicted temperature rises in high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) windings and radiators were compared with the experimental values.

  • In this study, the multi-environment probability density function(MEPDF) approach has been applied to numerically investigate Delft-Jet-in-Hot-Coflow(DJHC) turbulent flames under Moderate or Intense Low-oxygen Dilution (MILD) combustion condition. Computations are made for two different jet velocities(Re = 4100 and 8800). In terms of mean axial velocity, temperature, and turbulent kinetic energy, numerical results are in reasonably good agreements with experimental data even if there exist the noticeable deviations in downstream region. Based on numerical results, the detailed discussions are made for the essential features of the non-visible flame structure and MILD combustion processes.
