Development of New 1200V SPM® Smart Power Module for up to 6kW Motor Drive Applications (6kW급 모터 드라이브 시스템을 위한 새로운 1200V SPM 개발)

  • This paper introduces the new 1200V $SPM^{(R)}$ (Smart Power Module), which is fully optimized and intelligent integrated IGBT inverter modules for up to 6kW motor drive applications. It utilizes newly developed NPT trench IGBT with the advanced STEALTHTM freewheeling diode, and built-in bootstrap diode. HVICs, multi-function LVIC, and built-in thermistor provide good reliable characteristics for the entire system. This module also takes technical advantage of DBC(Direct Bonded Copper) substrate for the better thermal performance. This paper provides an overall description of the newly developed 1200V/35A $SPM^{(R)}$ 2 product.

  • Laser micromachining has increasingly been adopted in various advanced industries where the high-precision machining of large-area, high-density and multi-layered components is in a strong demand. To effectively meet the requirements, the laser micromachining process must be carefully monitored. In order to facilitate the development of a new laser micromachining process and/or a new system, we have fabricated a UV laser micromachining platform that is equipped with optical modules for monitoring the process online. They include a laser power stabilizing module, a module for laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, and an auto-focusing module.

  • 본 논문은 비디오 디코더의 병목현장을 해결하고 대량의 데이터를 처리할 수 있는 다중병렬처리방식의 HEVC CABAC 디코더를 소개한다. CABAC 디코더를 병렬화한 하드웨어 VLSI구조를 설계하여 크기 대비 높은 처리량이 나오는지를 설계 및 분석결과를 통해 연구결과를 도출하는 게 본 논문의 목적이다. CABAC 디코더 내부 module(산술 디코더, 문맥 모델러, 역이진화기) 1개에서 4개까지의 병렬화를 분석한 결과 4개의 병렬화를 했을 때가 크기 대비 처리량이 가장 높다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 내부 module 4개를 병렬화한 CABAC 디코더 4개를 병렬화하여 slice 단위로 나눠진 프레임 1개를 한 번에 처리하는 방식을 채택하였다. 본 논문에서는 각 CABAC 디코더의 내부 module 4개를 병렬화하고, 병렬화한 CABAC 디코더 4개를 다시 병렬화하는 하드웨어 구조를 사용한다.

  • This paper introduces a low-cost, high-performance mmWave antenna array module at 77 GHz. Conventional waveguide transitions have been replaced by 3D CPW-microstrip transitions which are much simpler to realize. They are compatible with low-cost substrate fabrication processes, allowing easy integration of ICs in 3D multi-chip modules. An antenna array is designed and implemented using multilayer coupled-fed patch antenna technology. The proposed $16{\times}16$ array antenna has a fractional bandwidth of 8.4% (6.5 GHz) and a 23.6-dBi realized gain at 77 GHz.

  • There is an increasing interest in health and research on methods for measuring human body information. The importance of continuously observing information such as the step change and the walking speed is increasing. At a person's gait, information about the disease and the currently weakened area can be known. In this paper, gait is measured using wearable walking module built in shoes. We want to make continuous measurement possible by simplifying gait measurement method. This module is designed to receive information of gyro sensor and acceleration sensor. The designed module is capable of WiFi communication and the collected walking information is stored in the server. The information stored in the server is corrected by integrating the acceleration sensor and the gyro sensor value. A band-pass filter was used to reduce the error. This data is categorized by the Gait Finder into walking and waiting states. When walking, each step is divided and stored separately for analysis.

  • This study proposes a dead-time implementation method suitable for cell voltage control of a cascaded H-bridge (CHB) inverter. The PWM module of an existing microcontroller cannot generate a maximum voltage due to the dead-time effect when used as the cell controller of the CHB inverter. In the proposed method, the operation method of the PWM module was changed without using the dead time module included in the existing microcontroller, so that the cell output voltage can be increased to the maximum voltage without voltage discontinuity. During the maximum voltage generation period, the full turn-on state can be maintained without unnecessary switching. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed through an experiment.

Traffic Flow Prediction with Spatio-Temporal Information Fusion using Graph Neural Networks

  • Traffic flow prediction is of great significance in urban planning and traffic management. As the complexity of urban traffic increases, existing prediction methods still face challenges, especially for the fusion of spatiotemporal information and the capture of long-term dependencies. This study aims to use the fusion model of graph neural network to solve the spatio-temporal information fusion problem in traffic flow prediction. We propose a new deep learning model Spatio-Temporal Information Fusion using Graph Neural Networks (STFGNN). We use GCN module, TCN module and LSTM module alternately to carry out spatiotemporal information fusion. GCN and multi-core TCN capture the temporal and spatial dependencies of traffic flow respectively, and LSTM connects multiple fusion modules to carry out spatiotemporal information fusion. In the experimental evaluation of real traffic flow data, STFGNN showed better performance than other models.

  • This paper proposes MFMCAM(Multi-Functional Multi-port CAM) which has several ports with same characteristic function. This device can process data faster than the conventional single port CAM. MFMCAM is superior to CAMs formed in parallel on the stand points of frequency and module resources. Two representative applications of MFMCAM, sorter and router, are also presented.

  • 본 논문에서는 근사 계단 제어 변조(Nearest Level Control Modulation)로 동작하는 모듈형 멀티레벨 컨버터(Modular Multi level Converter)에서 충전 회로나 반송파(Carrier)없이 초기 충전(Pre-charging)하는 새로운 방식을 제안하였다. 이의 성능을 검증하기 위해 PSCAD/EMTDC 소프트웨어를 통해 암(Arm)당 12개의 서브모듈(Sub-Module)로 구성된 3상 10kVA 모듈형 멀티레벨 컨버터를 구현 및 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다.

  • Wireless communication systems will be one of the biggest drivers of semiconductor products over the next decade. Global Positioning System (GPS) and Blue-tooth, HomeRF, and Wireless-LNA system are just a few of RF-module candidate awaiting integration into next generation mobile phone. Motivated by the growing needs for lowcost and multi-band/multi-function single chip wireless transceivers, CMOS technology has been recognized as a most promising candidate for the implementation of the future wireless communication systems. This paper presents recent developments in RF CMOS technology so far, much of them have been developed in ETRI, and from them forecasts technology trends in the near future.
