  • The helicopter flies at low level flight mode in its own operational range comparing to other aircraft categories. The low level flight means that the engine operates at variable atmospheric condition such as hot and cold temperature, snow, heavy rain, etc. Furthermore it may increase the entering possibility of engine foreign object damage particles like sand, dust, etc., i.e. this operating condition gives rise to damages of engine gas path components. An on-line condition monitoring program was developed by using SIMULINK, where measurement signals were simulated as an input module. The reliability and capability of the developed on-line condition monitoring were confirmed through application to a real helicopter engine health monitoring.

  • The management methods of rooftop greening must be get ready without delay, Because rooftop greening has been generalized owing to the supporting project of The Seoul Metropolitan Government. Because most of the rooftop greening system is a recently-constructed low-management type, management methods should be made to suit it. This study is intended to set up a program for low-management rooftop greening based on "Choroktteul", the low management type of rooftop peening on the roof of one of the buildings in Seoul City Hall. Through monitoring, we found that most of the planted plants grew well but a few species needed physical management. We also found that invasive species(62 sp.) were 1.5 times as many as the planted plants. Most of the invasive plants were exotic species that need to be managed. The physical management methods were "pulling up" and "cutting". These methods should be carried out according to the growth stage. It was judged that a biological-ecological management program should be prepared through the long-period of monitoring and experiment. System methods such as guidelines of management program through monitoring was also required due to the emphasis on public ownership among the managers of the invasive species.

  • The ultimate goal of the quality control program for special periodic health examination agencies is to diagnose the health condition of a worker correctly, based on accurate examination and analysis skills, leading to protect the worker's health. The quality control program on three areas, chemical analysis for biological monitoring since 1995, and pneumoconiosis, audiometric testing since 1996, has contributed to improve the reliability of occupational health screenings by improving the issues including standardization of testing methods, tools, diagnostic opinions, and reliability of analysis for biological monitoring. It has contributed to improving the reliability of occupational health monitoring by rectifying the following issues associated with previous monitoring: absence of standardized testing methods, testing tools that are not upgraded, mismatching diagnostic opinions, and unreliable results of biological specimen analysis. Nevertheless, there are issues in need of further improvement such as lack of expertise or the use of inappropriate method for health examination, and passive and unwilling participation in the quality control. We suggested solutions to these problems for each area of quality control program. Above all, it is essential to provide active support for health examiners to develop their expertise, while encouraging all the health screening agencies, employers, and workers to develop the desire to improve the system and to maintain the relevance.

  • A acoustic emission (AE) sensor has been used to monitor tool were during milling process. The relation between tool wear and AE RMS (Root mean Square) signal was investigated experimentally. A avaliable monitoring index for monitoring toolwear was newly extracted form AE RMS. And on-line monitoring program was developed. The proposed monitoring system has verified experimentally by roughing end milling titanium alloy with TIN coated HSS tool.

  • In this paper, we have implemented the Web Server Patient Monitoring System using PPP. It is composed of two parts. The first part is the Analog board for acquiring ECG signals. The second part is the module for processing and transmitting the acquired signal. The second part is using PPP for dial-up networking, TCP/IP for Internet, HTTP for web browser and JAVA program for a Patient Monitoring Program in one chip. In home, it is not need to establish another network line because it uses a telephone line. And a user who want to monitor a patient's biosignal can monitor a patient without wholly open network because it is the network sewer. The Patient Monitoring Program runs on a web browser by downloaded JAVA codes when a user connect to this system. It can make the Home Patient Monitoring Program decrease cost. It can help to avoid the limitation of monitoring a patient.

  • The purpose of this research is to present a practical method for efficiently monitoring a reliability growth process using AMSAA(Army Materiel Systems Analysis Activity) reliability growth model. The presented method is viable for identifying failure modes, incorporating design changes and monitoring reliability progress on an on-going basis during the early stages of a product development program. According to the Application Guide for EN 50126(RAM part for Rolling Stock), reliability growth monitoring is essential part of the main tasks of design phase in RAM growth monitoring. Implementation of reliability growth management program will provide very useful information on concept selection, product/process reliability, and cost effectiveness without too much time, money and engineering effort being spent on the development of failure suspect parts.

  • An automatic control system to control a machinery system is managed by the PLC(Program Logic Control) and measured a machinery status from the sensor information to improve productivity in the industry field. This paper to propose a diagnostic monitoring system consists of a relay module, a one-chip processor module and a computer monitoring system. To improve productive capacity, the system is to check an auxiliary relay's trouble by a real-time monitoring.

  • Distribution Automation System (DAS) will provide supervision and remote control of switches and reclosers such as pole pounted switches and pad-mounted switchgears on high voltage distribution line. Kepco had developed basic function such as remote monitoring, remote control, remote measuring and remote setting at first. As a next step, Kepco has been developed diverse application programs such as single line diagram drawing program, relay coordination program, feeder reconfiguration program, over load elimination program, bad data detection program, section load management program, fault processing program and so on. Kepco is examining to develop more powerful functions for special specification of foreign distribution automation system. This paper explains what is the target for overseas DAS market.

  • While the reverberation mapping technique is the best available method for measuring black hole mass in active galactic nuclei (AGNs) beyond the local volume, this method has been mainly applied to relatively low-to-moderate luminosity AGNs at low redshift. We present the strategy of the Seoul National University AGN Monitoring Project, which aims at measuring the time delay of the $H{\beta}$ line emission with respect to AGN continuum, using a sample of relatively high luminosity AGNs out to redshift z ~ 0.5. We present simulated cross correlation results based on a number of mock light curves, in order to optimally determine monitoring duration and cadence. We describe our campaign strategy based on the simulation results and the availability of observing facilities. We present the sample selection, and the properties of the selected 100 AGNs, including the optical luminosity, expected time lag, black hole mass, and Eddington ratio.
