  • In this paper, the constant current controller is designed to regulate the driving current of a power LED. The controller design model of the power LED including its driving circuit is proposed to design the constant current controller. A buck converter is also introduced to drive the power LED. The PI-based digital controller is implemented to validate the proposed strategy for the power LED driving.

  • A parallel active power filter is designed and implemented to compensate for undesired current harmonics generated by a nonlinear load. The filter works based on PWM strategy and control signal is generated using a model predictive controller. To evaluate the achievements, a PI controller is also designed and implemented. Experimental results indicate about 50% increase in the efficiency over PI controller.

  • In this paper, we propose a digital controller design methodology for an LLC resonant converter which has been widely used due to the advantages of low switching loss and high efficiency. We establish a mathematical model of an LLC resonant converter using the extended describing function concept and propose a controller design method based on the Ziegler Nichols control parameter tuning criteria. The voltage controller of an LLC resonant converter is designed based on the derived small signal model and the performance of the controller is verified by MATLAB simulations. The validity and the control performance of the designed voltage controller for the LLC resonant converter is analyzed through some simulations for the case of load variations and circuit modeling errors.

  • In this paper, a new design methodology of the fuzzy controller is presented. The performance of the fuzzy controller is sensitive to the variety of scaling factors. The design procedure is based on evolutionary computing (more specifically, a genetic algorithm) and estimation algorithm to adjust and estimate scaling factors respectively. The tuning of the soiling factors of the fuzzy controller is essential to the entire optimization process. And then we estimate scaling factors of the fuzzy controller by means of two types of estimation algorithms such as HCM (Hard C-Means) and Neuro-Fuzzy model[7]. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed estimation algorithm for the fuzzy controller are demonstrated by the inverted pendulum system.

  • This paper presents a fuzzy dynamic output feedback controller design method for Parallel Distributed Compensation (PDC)-type Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) model based fuzzy dynamic system with H$\infty$ performance and additional constraints on the closed pole placement. Design condition for these controller is obtained in terms of the linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The proposed fuzzy controller satisfies the disturbance rejection performance and the desired transient response. The design method is verified by this method for an inverted pendulum with a cart using the proposed method.

  • The work presented here deals with controller design by graphical method based on proportional control ramp response. The design aims at the improvement of transient response, disturbance rejection capability, steady-state error reduction with stability preservation. The first step is to generate tracking-error curve with proportional control only and decide the added error signal shape on the error curve. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is confirmed through the simulation and experiment.

  • This paper presents the development of a controller that can control the temperature of an heating system based on a thermoelectric module. Temperature controller using Peltier has various external factors such as external temperature, characteristics of an aluminum plate, installation location of temperature sensors, and combination method between the aluminum plate and heating element. Therefore, it is difficult to apply the simulation and simulation results of heating system using Peltier at control algorithm. In general, almost temperature controller is using PID algorithm that finds control gain value heuristically. In this paper, it is proposed mathematical model that explain correlate between the temperature of the heating system and input voltage. And then, optimal parameter of estimated thermal model of the aluminum plate are searched by using genetic algorithm. In addition, based on this estimated model, the optimal PID control gain are inferred using a genetic algorithm. All of the sequence are simulated and verified with proposed real system.

  • This paper presents a method to design a repetitive controller that is specified in the specified trajectory for the repetitive works. With the single-model design approach, the controller is derived by minimizing a frequency-domain based cost function that produces monotonic convergence of the tracking error as a function of repetition number. Numerical illustrations show how the proposed single-model design method produces a repetitive controller in a single nominal model of the system.

  • This paper presents an observer-based robust controller for constant reference tracking of linear time invariant systems with polytopic model uncertainties. To this end, this paper not only designs a robust integral controller gain but also suggests how to determine the robust observer gain and the observer model used in the observer. Since the observer model selection is not obvious due to the polytopic uncertainties, particular attention needs to be paid to that. This paper computes the robust controller and observer gains first. Then, the observer model is selected in a way that the whole closedloop is stable and LMIs are used in the middle of choosing the gains and observer model. Simulation examples show that the proposed observer-based feedback control successfully achieves robust reference tracking.
