  • Generally, a geographical area consists of many regions called cells in wireless networks. Each mobile host(MH) in a cell communicates with a base station(BS) located in the center of the cell. The BSs are connected to each other by a static wired network. Since users are expected to move around during communication sessions, one of the most important QoS factors is related to the handoff. But, the handoff could fail due to unavailability of sufficient bandwidth in the next cell. As the individual cell size gradually shrinks to accommodate increasing the number of MHs, the probability of successful handoffs can be dropped. In this paper, we suppose a bandwidth reservation method to guarantee MHs against connection failure in case of frequent handoffs. This method predicts the mobility based on the geographical information and assigns the bandwidth reservation in proportion to the speed of MHs' motion. As a result, we can expect more exact moving path of MH and to reduce the waste of bandwidth.

  • Lossless data embedding is a method to insert information into a host image that guarantees complete restoration when the extraction has been done. In this paper, we propose a noble reversible data embedding algorithm for images in wavelet domain. The proposed embedding technique, which modifies histogram of wavelet coefficient, is composed of two inserting steps. Data is embedded to wavelet coefficient using modification of histogram in first embedding process. Second embedding step compensates the distortion caused by the first embedding process as well as hides more information. Hence we achieve higher inserting capacity. In view of the relationship between the embedding capacity and the PSNR value, our proposed method shows considerably higher performance than the current reversible data embedding methods.

  • For the auto-configuration of diverse hosts and automation of network management as many electronic machines and industrial components are becoming connected to Internet, it is possible to use autoconfiguration using DHCP and network management protocol such as SNMP, CMIP. But these technologies are not developed maturely and lack various standardizations yet because these are designed for restrictive purposes in the past. The new working group "Zeroconf" is made in IETF at March, 2000, it is aimed for making standards of autoconfiguration which is applied to impromptu ad-hoc networks in automobiles, trains, planes and home network or mobile networks. In this paper, we introduce the IPv6 based autoconfiguration technologies such as IP interface configuration, translation between host name and IP address, IP multicast address allocation and service discovery. Finally, trends of standardization in Zeroconf working group will be shown. be shown.

  • With the recent wide adoption of Linux in the fields of IoT, embedded, mobile, desktop and server industries, the importances of understanding the Linux system architecture as well as customizing the Linux system are increasing very steeply. Accordingly, the capabilities of building every component of Linux system from source code files have been important. The LFS (Linux From Scratch) site[1] guides the steps of building the basic Linux system from source files. The steps consist of build host preparation step, temporary system building step, final system building step, and system configuration and boot preparation step. However, the underlying concepts behind the steps used in building LFS are difficult to understand, particularly to the beginner. This paper analyzes the LFS build steps and reveal the core build concepts and principles used in each step. Additionally, this paper shows the measured package build times obtained from our build experience.

  • One fundamental issue in ad hoc networks is the alternative node election problem, which reflects how well a sensor network is monitored or tracked by sensors. In this paper, we proposed EEAP(Energy-Efficient Alternative Paths). This is a method of selecting an alternative node for path routing management. When some node disconnection on the path routing, using pre-selected backup node provides immediately recover the path recovery. When selecting an alternative node of Step-Parents head node on the path management, the node's energy level and distance information are cared in context-awareness. This is not only increased the system's capacity cost effectively, but also reduce transmission power entire nodes consume energy. As a result, each node could efficiently management and improves the life time for mobile host and extends system coverage.

  • According to the size of NAND flash memory as the storage system of mobile device becomes large, the performance of address translation and life cycle management in FTL (Flash Translation Layer) to interact with file system becomes very important. In this paper, we propose the continuity counters, which represent the number of continuous physical blocks whose logical addresses are consecutive, to reduce the number of address translation. Furthermore we propose the prefetching method which preloads frequently accessed pages into main memory to enhance I/O performance of flash memory. Besides, we use the 2-bit write prediction and asynchronous writing method to predict addresses repeatedly referenced from host and prevent from writing overhead. The experiments show that the proposed method improves the I/O performance and extends the life cycle of flash memory. As a result, proposed CFTL (Clustered Flash Translation Layer)'s performance of address translation is faster 20% than conventional FTLs. Furthermore, CFTL is reduced about 50% writing time than that of conventional FTLs.

  • Wireless network has high BER characteristic because of path loss, fading, noise and interference. Many packet losses occur without any congestion in wireless network. Therefore, many wireless TCP algorithms have been proposed. SNOOP, one of wireless TCP algorithms, hides packet losses for Fixed Host and retransmits lost packets in wireless network. However, SNOOP has a weakness for bust errors in wireless network. This paper proposes the SACK-SNOOP to improve TCP performance based on SNOOP and Freeze-TCP that use ZWA messages in wireless network. This message makes FH stop sending packets to MH. BS could retransmit error packets to MH for this time. SACK-SNOOP use improved Selective ACK, thereby reducing the number of packet sequences according to error environment. This method reduces the processing time for generation, transmission, analysis of ACK. This time gain is enough to retransmit local burst errors in wireless link. Furthermore, SACK-SNOOP can manage the retransmitted error by extending delay time to FH. The simulation shows that our proposed protocol is more effective for packet losses in wireless networks.

  • COVID-19 is an acute respiratory syndrome that affects the host's breathing and respiratory system. The novel disease's first case was reported in 2019 and has created a state of emergency in the whole world and declared a global pandemic within months after the first case. The disease created elements of socioeconomic crisis globally. The emergency has made it imperative for professionals to take the necessary measures to make early diagnoses of the disease. The conventional diagnosis for COVID-19 is through Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing. However, in a lot of rural societies, these tests are not available or take a lot of time to provide results. Hence, we propose a COVID-19 classification system by means of machine learning and transfer learning models. The proposed approach identifies individuals with COVID-19 and distinguishes them from those who are healthy with the help of Deep Visual Embeddings (DVE). Five state-of-the-art models: VGG-19, ResNet50, Inceptionv3, MobileNetv3, and EfficientNetB7, were used in this study along with five different pooling schemes to perform deep feature extraction. In addition, the features are normalized using standard scaling, and 4-fold cross-validation is used to validate the performance over multiple versions of the validation data. The best results of 88.86% UAR, 88.27% Specificity, 89.44% Sensitivity, 88.62% Accuracy, 89.06% Precision, and 87.52% F1-score were obtained using ResNet-50 with Average Pooling and Logistic regression with class weight as the classifier.

  • Due to the development of mobile devices and streaming technology, many changes in consumption patterns have appeared. In addition, social impact is becoming an era of non-face-to-face consumption due to the panthermic environment of COVID-19. Accordingly, in line with the non-face-to-face consumption trend, we focused on the importance of live commerce, which is emerging as a new distribution channel, and tried to investigate the causal relationship that the characteristics of live commerce and show hosts have on purchase intention. The respondents of this study were 235 general adults of live commerce users. Interaction, economics, entertainment as the characteristics of live commerce and attractiveness, professionality, and awareness as the characteristics of show hosts were set as independent variables. Purchase intention was set as the dependent variable, and content flow was set as the mediating variable. As a result of the study, it was found that the characteristics of live commerce such as Interaction, economics, entertainment, and the characteristics of show hosts such as attractiveness, professionality, and awareness all had a positive (+) significant effect on purchase intention. The impact was shown in the following order: entertainment of live commerce, awareness, attractiveness, professionality of show hosts, economics, interaction of live commerce. In addition, the results of the mediating effect of content flow on purchase intention are as follows. Content flow was found to play a mediating role between interaction, entertainment, attractiveness, professionality, awareness and purchase intention. On the other hand, economics was analyzed to have no mediating effect. The implications of this study are as follows. Companies and show hosts that sell products in live commerce should sell products that can inspire consumers rather than simply sell products. In addition, it is considered that content that provides entertainment and attractions gives pleasure to consumers. If not only a well-recognized show host, but also people with high recognition in various fields such as influencers and creators, become show hosts, consumers' content flow and purchase intentions will increase. And vendors must offer interesting content development and reasonable prices. Show hosts need to focus on active communication with consumers.
