Mobile ATM: A Generic and flexible network infrastructure for 3G mobile services

  • this paper presents the concept of "mobile ATM', a proposal for third-generation (3G) mobile communication network infrastructure capable of supporting flexible evolution of radio technologies from today's cellular and data services towards future wireless multimedia services. Mobile ATM provides generic mobility management and QoS-based transport capabilities suitable for integration of multiple radio access technologies including cellular voice. wireless data, and future broadband wireless services. The architecture of a mobile ATM network is outlined in terms of the newly-defined "W-UNI" interface at the radio link and "M-UNI"and "M-UNI" interface which supports unified access for WATM and non-ATM mobile terminals through corresponding interworking functions (IWF) is explained. leading to an understanding of how different radio access technologies are supported by the same ATM-based core network infrastructure. Generic mechanisms for handoff and location management within the core mobile network are discussed. and related protocol extensions over the "W-UNI" and "M-UNI/NNI"interfaces are proposed. the issue of "crossover switch (COS)" selection in mobile ATM is considered, and a unified handoff signaling syntax which supports flexibility in COS selection is described. Typical signaling sequences for call connection and handoff using the proposed protocols are outlined. Experimental results form a proof-of-concept mobile ATM network prototype are presented in conclusion.

공영자전거 시스템의 모바일과 웹 통합서비스 (A Mobile Application and Web Integration Service for Public Bicycle Sharing System)

  • This paper proposes and implements a mobile service and web service integration for utilizing public bicycle sharing system NUBIJA. The NUBIJA system is operated by Changwon City, GyeongNam since 2008 and maintains 247 unattended bicycle sharing terminal on the city. Average users per day of the NUBIJA are more than 8,000 and many users want to get more services from their mobile phones. We implemented realtime mobile bicycle rental and return information service. The informations are acquired from each terminal kiosks and we integrated the information and location based services(LBS) on iOS and Android platform. In this paper, we described an integration services between web and mobile application and shows graphical user interface for highly customized on mobile platforms.

Comparative Research on Mobile Value Chains among China, Japan, and Korea

  • East Asian region, specifically China, Japan, and Korea, is considered as an area of advanced mobile handsets and mobile services. The well-established infrastructure of this region is well known due to rapid introduction of diverse feature-equipped handsets and advanced capabilities of mobile network operators. However, the status of mobile business has rarely been dealt with in previous studies. In this paper, we compare mobile value chains among these three countries. China has adopted open platform for mobile data services while Korea and Japan's mobile network operators control mobile portals for accessing diverse contents and services. We also discuss some possible reasons for the differences among the three countries in terms of value chain structures.

Asymmetric Regulation of Mobile Access Charges and Consumer Welfare with Price Regulation

  • Asymmetric regulation as applied to mobile termination rates refers to regulatory arrangements in which different mobile operators charge different termination rates, even though the services provided are essentially identical. The asymmetric regulation has been frequently used as a regulatory tool to support new entrants to a mobile market. This paper examines the economic effects of asymmetric regulation of mobile termination rates using a theoretical model and its simulation. The result shows that when there is no noticeable difference in brand loyalty between mobile operators with the high degree of substitutability between services provided by mobile operators, and the costs of new entrants are low, a reduction in the asymmetry of mobile access prices results in an enhancement of consumer welfare. These findings provide positive evidence for the argument that in certain situations asymmetric pricing of mobile access services may be counterproductive for consumer welfare.

모바일결제 사용의도의 주요 요인에 관한 비교 연구: 연령 및 모바일결제 서비스 유형에 따른 비교 (A Comparative Study of Factors Affecting the Intention to Use Mobile Payment Services: Focusing on the Types of Mobile Payment Services and Different Age Groups)

  • 본 연구는 다양한 모바일결제 서비스들을 대상으로 모바일결제 서비스의 유형과 연령에 따라 모바일결제 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 비교 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 스마트폰 전용 페이 유형에서는 소비자 혁신성이 모바일결제 사용의도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치며, 온라인 페이 유형에서는 호환성과 이미지가 모바일결제 사용의도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 모바일 앱 카드 유형의 경우에는 모바일결제 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 30대와 40대의 경우에는 소비자 혁신성, '모바일결제 서비스 외의 이전 서비스에 대한 신뢰' 및 호환성이 모바일결제 사용의도에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤다. 50대와 60대의 소비자 그룹에서는 이미지가 모바일결제 사용의도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치며, 지각된 위험이 모바일결제 사용의도에 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 10대와 20대의 경우에는 모바일결제 사용의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 요인이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 모바일결제 서비스의 유형과 연령에 따라 모바일결제 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 처음으로 비교 분석하였다는데 연구의 의의가 있다. 모바일결제 서비스를 제공하는 기업들은 목표로 하는 소비자 그룹에 모바일결제 서비스의 사용을 촉진하기 위해서 연구의 결과를 활용하여 해당 그룹에 잘 맞는 전략을 사용해야 한다.

모바일 배달 전문 플랫폼의 서비스 특성이 지각된 용이성과 고객 만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of a Mobile Platform for Food Delivery Services on Perceived Ease of Use and Customer Satisfaction)

  • This study aims to analyze how specific features of a mobile platform such as economic feasibility, interactivity, safety, and design are correlated with perceived ease of use and customer satisfaction, targeting those who purchase delivery food on a mobile platform dedicated to delivery services. A survey was conducted on customers who had bought delivery food on a mobile platform and the data collection was conducted from August 19, 2019 to September 18, 2019, using 300 mobile platform service users. A total of 300 copies were retrieved. 249 valid samples of 300 copies were analyzed with SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23, and In addition, programs including SPSS and AMOS were used for the analysis of frequency, confirmatory factor, reliability and validity, correlation and structural equation model. Major findings of such analysis are as follows. First, design characteristic of a mobil platform had relevant impacts on perceived ease of use. However, economic feasibility, interactivity, and safety did not significantly affect perceived ease of use. Second, perceived ease of use had a significantly influenced on the extent of customer satisfaction. Hence, from practical and academical point of views based on the results of this analysis, this study is expected to provide directions and some practical and useful implications for a mobile platform for food delivery services.

무선인터넷서비스 수용의 영향요인 분석: 플로우이론을 가미한 기술수용모델의 확장 (Factors Influencing Mobile Internet Service Acceptance: Extension of Technology Acceptance Model Using The Flow Theory)

  • The current study investigates major factors which influence the acceptance of mobile internet services based on the theoretical backgrounds of the technology acceptance model(TAM) and the flow theory. This research extended the Davis' TAM model(1989) by including the flow concept as another major factor towards the intention to use the mobile device in order to explain the acceptance of divers mobile services. According to the marketing studies(Ghani & Desphande, 1994; Novak, Hoffman & Yung, 2000), flow is regarded a psychological state in which one is absorbed in something he or she is doing, and is known to be widely adopted in explaining one's acceptance in the area of game, sports, and even hobby. This study developed a research model to explain the use of mobile services employing usefulness, ease of use and flow as major research variables, and collected 221 survey responses from the high school students who had experiences with such mobile services as game and audio file download. The results of the current research indicates that usefulness and flow influence the intension to use mobile services, but the effect of ease of use did not appear significant to the intention to use. It was also found that flow affects both usefulness and ease of use, and then ease of use next influences usefulness.

모바일 간편 결제 서비스 이용 의도에 관한 연구 : 기술 수용 모델을 중심으로 (A Study on the Intention of the Use of Mobile Payment Services: Application of the Technology Acceptance Model)

  • The present study applies the TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) to investigate the factors that affect the intention to use the mobile payment services. For this purpose five potential variables (perceived usefulness, perceived convenience, ubiquity, innovativeness, and safety risk) that are expected to affect the intention to use the mobile payment services were selected. An online survey was administered, and 339 questionnaires were analyzed. Structure Equation Model (SEM) Analysis revealed that TAM variables (perceived usefulness and perceived convenience) partially influenced the attitude. The perceived usefulness predicted the attitude while perceived convenience did not predict the attitude toward the mobile payment service. Personal characteristics variable (innovativeness) and mobile nature variables (ubiquity, and security risk) were identified as the predictors of the attitude toward the mobile payment service. While innovativeness and ubiquity affected the attitude positively, security risk affected the attitude negatively. Finally, the analysis substantiated the influence of attitude toward the mobile payment services on the intention to use the services. On the basis of findings, managerial implications and suggestions for further studies were discussed.

검색 포털들의 모바일 검색 서비스 평가 (Evaluation of Mobile-based Web Search Services: Suggestions for Needed Improvements)

  • 본 연구에서는 모바일 검색의 주 이용자 계층인 대학생들을 대상으로 이들의 모바일 검색 행태를 조사하고, 설문조사와 실험을 통하여 검색 포털들의 모바일 검색 서비스에 대한 평가를 수행하고자 한다. 즉, 실제 이용자들이 실제 질의를 이용하여 모바일 검색을 수행한 후, 검색 포털들의 모바일 검색 서비스를 다양한 기준에 근거하여 평가하고, 모바일 검색 서비스에 대한 개선 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 조사 결과, 검색 포털의 모바일 검색에서 개선이 가장 시급한 분야는 컨텐츠로 나타났으며, 이어서 인터페이스, 접근성, 모바일 검색 기능 등의 순으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 포털들의 모바일 검색 서비스의 개선에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

모바일 동영상 서비스 만족도 결정요인 분석 (Analysis of Factors Affecting on Mobile Video Services' Satisfaction)

  • 본 연구는 현재 사용 중인 모바일 동영상 서비스의 사용자 만족 향상을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 속성별 만족도를 조사하고 성별 및 연령에 따라 속성별 만족도와 전반적 만족도와의 관련성을 분석하여 모바일 동영상 서비스 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 이를 위해 DMB와 모바일 동영상 서비스를 동시에 사용하는 362명의 사용자를 대상으로 모바일 동영상 서비스의 전반적 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석하였다. 또한 속성별 만족도와 전반적 만족도간 관계에 지상파콘텐츠 제공여부가 조절효과를 하는지를 분석하였다. 분석방법으로 빈도분석, 교차분석, t-test/F-test, 다중회귀분석, 조절회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 모바일 동영상 서비스 전반적 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 콘텐츠 다양성, 화질, 재생품질, 이용편리성, 데이터 소모량 등 이었으며 성별, 연령별로 속성별 요인과 영향력에 있어서 차이가 있었다. 또한 지상파 콘텐츠 제공여부는 전반적 만족도에 영향을 미치는 결정변수 및 조절변수로 작용하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로 만족도를 향상시키기 위해서는 반드시 지상파 콘텐츠를 제공하기 보다는 다양한 콘텐츠 제공과 UI/UX 개선 등 이용편리성을 개선해주는 것이 바람직한 방법임을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 시사점과 한계점을 제시하였다.
