Mobile Robot Navigation using a Dynamic Multi-sensor Fusion

  • In this study, as the preliminary step far developing a multi-purpose Autonomous robust carrier mobile robot to transport trolleys or heavy goods and serve as robotic nursing assistant in hospital wards. The aim of this paper is to present the use of multi-sensor data fusion such as sonar, IR sensor for map-building mobile robot to navigate, and presents an experimental mobile robot designed to operate autonomously within both indoor and outdoor environments. Smart sensory systems are crucial for successful autonomous systems. We will give an explanation for the robot system architecture designed and implemented in this study and a short review of existing techniques, since there exist several recent thorough books and review paper on this paper. It is first dealt with the general principle of the navigation and guidance architecture, then the detailed functions recognizing environments updated, obstacle detection and motion assessment, with the first results from the simulations run.

  • The technique of the information communication are advanced recently and a performance enhance of a hand carried computing device was developed rapidly. Mobile Communication Carrier developed currently the phone navigation and are carrying out the service. But such service localizes at the vehicle movement. In This paper, we explain a system structure for the pedestrian navigation of the Wireless Internet Platform for Interoperability(WIPI) mobile phone which contains the MS-Based Global Positioning System(GPS) internally. And we verified the result to be developed by this method that proposes.

  • In this paper, the performance of the various multiple access techniques for the mobile computer network has been studiedi in the consideration of the charactersitics of the mobile cimmunication channel. In the case of the hidden node occurring. It could be seen that the performance of the code division multiple access (CDMA) technique with simultaneous access function is better than that of the other packet access methods such as carrier sendsed multiple access (CDMA), busy tone multiple access (BTMA) and idle signal multiple access (ISMA) in the view of the throughput and mean delay time. Also, it has been shown that the performance of the CDMA method is superior to that of other packet access techniques such as multiple access (CSMA), etc. when the fading effect or impulsive noise exists in the mobile channel, Especially, in the case of the distributed mobile network it has been shown that the receivertransmitter based CDMA method using the characteristics of CDMA effectively has better throughput and less mean delay time than the commontransmitter based CDMA technique.

Removal study of As (V), Pb (II), and Cd (II) metal ions from aqueous solution by emulsion liquid membrane

  • Emulsion Liquid Membrane (ELM) is a prominent technique for the separation of heavy metal ions from wastewater due to the fast extraction and is a single-stage operation of stripping-extraction. The selection of the components (Surfactant and Carrier) of ELM is a very significant step for its preparation. In the ELM technique, the primary water- in-oil (W/O) emulsion is emulsified in water to produce water-in-oil-in-water (W/O/W) emulsion. The water in oil emulsion was prepared by mixing the membrane phase and internal phase. To prepare the membrane phase, the extractant D2EHPA (di-2-ethylhexylphosphoric acid) was used as a mobile carrier, Span-80 as a surfactant, and Paraffin as a diluent. Moreover, the internal (receiving) phase was prepared by dissolving sulphuric acid in water. Di-(2- ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid such as surfactant concentration, carrier concentration, sulphuric acid concentration in the receiving (internal) phase, agitation time (emulsion phase and feed phase), the volume ratio of the membrane phase to the receiving phase, the volume ratio of the external feed phase to the primary water-in-oil emulsion and pH of feed were studied on the percentage extraction of metal ions at 20℃. The results show that it is possible to remove 78% for As(V), 98% for Cd(II), and 99% for Pb(II). 밀리미터파 5G 이동통신을 위한 물리계층 모뎀의 구현 (Physical Layer Modem Implementation for mmWave 5G Mobile Communication)

  • 본 논문에서는 밀리미터파 5G 이동통신 시스템의 일환으로 한국전자통신연구원이 개발중인 Giga KOREA 5G의 물리계층 모뎀의 구조에 대하여 설명한다. Giga KOREA 5G 기술은 셀 당 최대 100 Gbps급 용량을 가진 기지국으로 개인별 1Gbps급 모바일 서비스를 제공하기 위해 밀리미터파 (10~40 GHz) 기반의 광대역 이동통신의 원천기술 및 시제품을 개발하는 것을 목표로 하고 있으며, 이러한 요구조건을 충족하기 위해 물리계층은 고속 대용량 기지국 및 단말 플랫폼과 이에 탑재되는 OFDM TDD 방식의 고성능 모뎀으로 구현되었다. Giga KOREA 5G 모뎀의 주요 기능으로는 주파수 집성 및 단말의 수신 빔 탐색, 대용량 데이터 송수신을 위한 고속의 채널 부호화 및 복호화, 고속 변복조 기능 등이 있다.

이동통신 액세스망 설계 (Mobile Access Network Design)

  • This study deals with the optimal design of mobile access network connecting base stations(BSs) and mobile switching centers(MSCs). Generally mobile operators constitute their access networks by leasing communication lines. Using the characteristic of leased line rate based on administration region, we build an optimization model for mobile access network design which has much smaller number of variables than the existing researches. And we develop a GUI based optimization tool integrating the well-known softwares such as MS EXCEL. MS VisualBasic, MS PowerPoint and Ip_solve, a freeware optimization software. Employing the current access network configuration of a Korean mobile carrier, this study using the optimization tool obtain an optimal solution for both single MSC access network and nation-wide access network. Each optimal access network achieves 7.45% and 9.49% save of lease rate, respectively. Considering the monthly charge and total amount of lease line rate, our optimization tool provides big amount of save in network operation cost. Besides the graphical representation of access networks makes the operator easily understand and compare current and optimal access networks.

Global Map Building and Navigation of Mobile Robot Based on Ultrasonic Sensor Data Fusion

  • In mobile robotics, ultrasonic sensors became standard devices for collision avoiding. Moreover, their applicability for map building and navigation has exploited in recent years. In this paper, as the preliminary step for developing a multi-purpose autonomous carrier mobile robot to transport trolleys or heavy goods and serve as robotic nursing assistant in hospital wards. The aim of this paper is to present the use of multi-sensor data fusion such as ultrasonic sensor, IR sensor for mobile robot to navigate, and presents an experimental mobile robot designed to operate autonomously within both indoor and outdoor environments. The global map building based on multi-sensor data fusion is applied for recognition an obstacle free path from a starting position to a known goal region, and simultaneously build a map of straight line segment geometric primitives based on the application of the Hough transform from the actual and noisy sonar data. We will give an explanation for the robot system architecture designed and implemented in this study and a short review of existing techniques, Hough transform, since there exist several recent thorough books and review paper on this paper. Experimental results with a real Pioneer DX2 mobile robot will demonstrate the effectiveness of the discussed methods.

SDD 기반 OFDMA 시스템을 위한 간섭 완화 기법 (Mitigating Techniques for OFDMA System Based on SDD)

  • 본 논문에서는 옥내환경의 무선전송을 위한 SDD(Synchronous Digital Duplexing)/OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) 시스템에서 AP(Access Point)와 SS(Subscriber Station)의 TDoA(Time Difference of Arrival)와 CFO(Carrier Frequency Offset)에 의해 발생하는 상 하향링크 OFDM 심볼의 IBI(Inter Block Interference)와 ICI(Inter Carrier Interference)의 영향을 극복하기 위한 TSF(Time-domain Shortening Filter)와 FSF(Frequency-domain Shortening Filter)를 제안한다. 제안된 TSF와 FSF는 상호 레인정 과정에서 획득한 AP와 각 SS 에 대한 채널응답 및 동기 정보를 이용하여, 시간영역과 주파수영역에서 SIRST(SIR for Shortening in Time)와 SINRSF(SINR for Shortening in Frequency)를 최대화한다. 제안된 TSF와 FSF는 SDD/OFDMA 시스템에서 TDoA에 따른 effective 채널응답과 CFO에 따른 ICI의 영향을 효과적으로 감쇄시키는 것을 모의실험을 통하여 확인한다.

셀 내 간섭원에 의한 수신기의 신호 대 간섭비 분포 특성 (Receiver Carrier-to-Interference Ratio Distribution Characteristics under the Influence of an Intra-Cell Interferer)

  • 이동 통신 시스템의 성능 분석을 위해서는 정확한 신호 대 간섭비(Carrier-to-Interference Ratio: C/I)에 대한 정보가 중요하다. 셀 내에 간섭원(interferer)이 존재하는 경우, 수신기의 신호 대 간섭 비는 수신기와 정보원의 거리$(d_0)$와 수신기와 간섭원의 거리$(d_1)$의 비에 의해 결정된다. 본 논문에서는 정보원, 간섭원 및 수신기의 지정학적 관계를 이용해서 $d_0/d_1$의 값에 따른 신호 대 간섭비의 분포를 유도하고, 이를 실험 결과와 비교 및 검증한다. 또한, 제시된 모델을 활용하여 인접 채널 간섭이 존재하는 상황에 적용시, 간섭 영향에 따른 outage 확률을 분석한다.

5G 새로운 파형 핵심 기술 및 성능 비교 분석 (Key Techniques and Performance Comparison of 5G New Waveform Technologies)

  • 5세대 이동통신 시스템에서 요구하고 있는 조건들을 만족시키기 위해 현재 다양한 계층에 대한 연구가 진행 중이며 특히, 물리 계층에서는 Filter bank Multi-Carrier(FBMC), Universal Filtered Multi-Carrier(UFMC), Generalized Frequency Division Multiplex(GFDM)등의 새로운 파형 기술이 등장하였다. 새로이 등장한 파형에 대하여 다양한 연구가 진행되었지만, 대부분의 기존 연구에서는 새로운 파형과 Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM)을 포함한 일부 파형 기술들을 일부 성능 지표에 대해서만 비교하여 제한적인 정보를 제공하는데 그치고 있다. 또한 각각의 연구가 동일하지 않은 환경에서 결과를 도출하였기 때문에 어떤 면에서 각 파형들이 우위에 있는 지 판단하기 어렵다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 각 파형기술의 핵심 기술에 대해 면밀히 분석하고, 동일한 환경에서 여러 파형을 다양한 성능지표면에서 비교하여 특정 기술이 어떠한 면에서 우위에 있고 어떤 응용 시나리오에서 보다 적합한지에 대해 비교 분석한다.
