Selective Solvation of KCl in Some Mixed Solvent Systems (몇 가지 혼합용매 중에서 KCl의 선택적 용매화)

  • The solvation numbers of some ions in water and of KCl in mixed solvent systems were measured using the conductometric method. Stoke's radii of ions in solution were calibrated by the Nightingale method and the solvation numbers of ions in mixed solvents were deduced by simple assumptions. The deduced solvation numbers of each solvent reasonably go with its selective properties of solvation. From the isosolvation point of ions, the selective properties of ionic solvation were discussed.

A Low-Complexity 128-Point Mixed-Radix FFT Processor for MB-OFDM UWB Systems

  • In this paper, we present a fast Fourier transform (FFT) processor with four parallel data paths for multiband orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing ultra-wideband systems. The proposed 128-point FFT processor employs both a modified radix-$2^4$ algorithm and a radix-$2^3$ algorithm to significantly reduce the numbers of complex constant multipliers and complex booth multipliers. It also employs substructure-sharing multiplication units instead of constant multipliers to efficiently conduct multiplication operations with only addition and shift operations. The proposed FFT processor is implemented and tested using 0.18 ${\mu}m$ CMOS technology with a supply voltage of 1.8 V. The hardware- efficient 128-point FFT processor with four data streams can support a data processing rate of up to 1 Gsample/s while consuming 112 mW. The implementation results show that the proposed 128-point mixed-radix FFT architecture significantly reduces the hardware cost and power consumption in comparison to existing 128-point FFT architectures.

  • This mixed push and pull production system defines that all stages are not ordered by either of the production systems. Some stages are ordered by a push-type production system and the other stages are ordered by a pull-type production system. A decision support system is built by using a combination of optimization program and the "tunable" SIMAN discrete-event simulation for the implementation of an optimally mixed production system. Finding this optimal system requires 6 CPU hours for the case study on a Pentium. Both the simulation and optimization model are validated with a case study of Phoenix company that manufactures transmitters. This paper uses survey from experts in this company for evaluation and validation of this system.

  • Mixed Chinese Postman Problem (MCPP) is a practical generalization of the classical Chinese Postman Problem (CPP) and it could be applied in many real world. Although MCPP is useful in terms of reality, MCPP has been proved to be a NP-complete problem. To find optimal solutions efficiently in MCPP, we can reduce searching space to be small effective searching space containing optimal solutions. We propose GENIIS methodology, which is a kind of hybrid algorithm combines the approximate algorithms and genetic algorithm. To get good solutions in the effective searching space, GENIIS uses approximate algorithm and genetic algorithm. This paper validates the usefulness of the proposed approach in a simulation. The results of our paper could be utilized to increase the efficiencies of network and transportation in business.

  • 최근 하드웨어 성능의 급속한 발전에 따라 임베디드 시스템은 기존의 단순한 기능만을 수행하던 시스템에서 다양한 기능을 수행하는 시스템으로 발전하고 있다. 이와 같이 서로 다른 중요도를 가지는 소프트웨어로 구성된 시스템을 중요도 혼재 시스템(Mixed-Criticality System)이라고 한다. 현재 중요도 혼재 시스템 관련 프로젝트는 관련 산업이 발달한 유럽 및 미국의 주도로 발전방향을 모색하고 기술적인 주도권을 잡기 위한 노력을 가속하고 있으나, 국내에서의 움직임은 미미한 실정이다. 그러므로 이와 관련된 기술 및 시장 주도권 선점을 위한 다양한 기반 기술의 연구 및 프로젝트의 진행이 시급하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 중요도 혼재 시스템 관련 주요 프로젝트의 연구 및 개발 동향을 분석하고 시사점을 제시한다.

A Modified Heuristic Algorithm for the Mixed Model Assembly Line Balancing

  • This paper proposes a modified heuristic mixed model assembly line (MMAL) balancing algorithm that provides consistent station assignments on a model by model basis as well as on a station by station. Basically, some of single model line balancing techniques are modified and incorporated to be fit into the MMAL. The proposed algorithm is based on N.T. Thomopoulos' [8] method and supplemented with several well proven single model line balancing techniques proposed in the literature until recently. Hoffman's precedence matrix [2] is used to indicate the ordering relations among tasks. Arcus' Rule IX [1] is applied to generate rapidly a fairly large number of feasible solutions. Consequently, this proposed algorithm reduces the fluctuations in operation times among the models as well as the stations and the balance delays. A numerical example shows that the proposed algorithm can provide a good feasible solution in a relatively short time and generate relatively better solutions comparing to other three existing methods.

Unraveling the relationship between the dimensions of user experience and user satisfaction in metaverse: A Mixed-methods Approach (메타버스 이용자 경험요인이 만족도에 미치는 영향: 텍스트 마이닝과 계량 분석 혼합방법론)

  • Purpose This study aims to identify user experience factors that can enhance both metaverse utilization and satisfaction based on the honeycomb model. For this we presented two research questions: first, what are the experience factors of metaverse users? Second, do metaverse user experience factors impact satisfaction? Design/methodology/approach To address these questions, a mixed-methodology approach is employed, including text mining techniques to analyze online reviews and quantitative econometric analysis to reveal the relationship between user experience factors and satisfaction. A total of 69,880 reviews and ratings data were collected. Findings The analysis revealed eight metaverse user experience factors: entertainment, operability, virtual reality, immersion, economic activity, visual performance, avatar, and sociality, all of which were found to have a positive impact on user satisfaction.

  • In this paper, a preconditioned mixed-type splitting iterative method for solving the linear systems Ax = b is presented, where A is a Z-matrix. Then we also obtain some results to show that the rate of convergence of our method is faster than that of the preconditioned AOR (PAOR) iterative method and preconditioned SOR (PSOR) iterative method. Finally, we give one numerical example to illustrate our results.

  • In this paper, a class of fractional integrodifferential equations of mixed type with nonlocal conditions is considered. First, using contraction mapping principle and Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem via Gronwall's inequailty, the existence and uniqueness of mild solution are given. Second, the existence of optimal pairs of systems governed by fractional integrodifferential equations of mixed type with nonlocal conditions is also presented.
