경유혼입 디젤엔진오일의 점도특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Viscosity Characteristics of Diluted Engine Oils with Diesel Fuel)

  • An experimental study was conducted to evaluate the viscosity characteristics of multi-grade engine oils in which contain diesel fuels. Unused engine oils of SAE 5W40, 10W40 and 15W40 were blended with a diesel fuel ratio of 5%, 10%, and 15%. The viscosity of a diluted engine oil was measured with temperature variation ranging from $-20^{\circ}C$ to $120^{\circ}C$ using a rotary viscometer. The diluted engine oil in which is blended to a diesel fuel plays an important role for decreasing an engine oil viscosity, which may decrease the oil film thickness and a load-carrying capacity. Test results show that the viscosity tends to fall for the increased temperature when engine oil is mixed with a diesel fuel. Especially, the viscosity at a low temperature zone is radically decreased compared with a high temperature zone. Based on the experimental results, the empirical equation that can predict the viscosity of diluted engine oil is expressed in the exponential function with the variation of the temperature and a fuel ratio of diluted engine oil. This equation may be possible to predict the limitation of the oil-fuel dilution rate at the concept design stage of the CDPF system, which doesn't affect the influence of the tribological components.

  • Ta investigate characteristics and spray of emulsified fuet we are mixed water with diesel oil using ultrasonic energy fuel feeding system. Separation ratio of emulsified fuel was shown good condition that of water content is small and longer ultrasonic energy adding time. Viscosity of emulsified fuel increased 79% with addition to water content and surface tension increased 1.6% in comparision to pure diesel oil. The SMD of emulsified fuel adding ultrasonic energy decreased with 3% in comparision to pure diesel oil. With increasing 5, 10% water content the SMD decreased 15.6, 20.1% in comparision to pure diesel oil. The mind-explosion was investigated with 4step.

선박용 연료유와 윤활유의 조합에 의한 락커 형성에 관한 연구 (Study on Lacquer Formation in Combined of Marine Fuel Oil and Marine Lubricant Oil)

  • We perform lacquer formation experiments with various combinations of marine fuel oils and lubricant oils. We also investigate the influences of base number (BN) in lubricant oil and sulfur content in fuel oil. A dissolution test with 10% dilute sulfuric acid and pull-off force test are accomplished to distinguish whether the residual layers are lacquering or not. The lacquering layers are dissolved by dilute sulfuric acid and have a strong pull-off force. Moreover, the calcium content detected in the residual layers is compared by energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDS). More calcium is detected in the lacquer layers than in other residual layers. Distillate fuels containing low sulfur levels are more prone to lacquering when mixed with lubricant oil with a high BN. On the other hand, residual fuels with a high sulfur content do not form lacquer. We investigate the effect of mixture volume ratio. The mixture with higher fuel oil content is more prone to generate lacquer. These experiments indicate that a lubricant with an appropriate BN should be used to prevent lacquer forming on the surfaces such as cylinder liners depending on the sulfur content of fuel oil.

천연가스 혼합에 의한 디젤기관의 연소특성 (Diesel Engine Combustion Characteristics on the Natural Gas Mixing)

  • 본 연구에서는 디젤기관에서 배출되는 배출가스의 저감을 위하여 경유와 천연가스의 혼합비율이 서로 다르게 연료의 분사량을 조절 전부하 운전시의 토크값을 4:0, 3:1, 2:2및 1:3의 4종류로 설정 디젤기관의 연소특성을 살펴보았다. 엔진회전수의 변화에 의한 배출가스의 변화를 알아보기 위하여 회전수를 1500, 2000, 2500 및 3000 rpm으로 설정 NOx, 흑연, 일산화탄소 및 탄화수소의 배출농도값을 측정하였다. 그 결과 디젤연료만을 사용하였을 경우보다 천연가스를 혼합하였을 경우 NOx, 일산화탄소 및 탄화수소의 배출농도는 다소 증가하였으나, 흑연의 배출농도는 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다.

  • The elementary experiment was performed to develop the emulsified fuel production system using pressure injection nozzle in this study.   • A demand for bio-diesel oil increases as one of solution for exhaustion of fossil fuel and reduction of $CO_2$ emission, and research on bio-diesel is being carried out. Bio-diesel oil is mainly esterified from vegetable oil with methanol in order to use for fuel on diesel engine and has demerit that costs are increased as compared with directly using like non-esterified one. Bio-diesel oil within 3% mixed with gas oil is used at present, proportion of bio-diesel oil will be increase by 5% in future. We judged that wasted soybean oil non-esterified could be used on diesel engine with an electronic fuel injection according to previous researches with a mechanical fuel injection. A performance test using only gas oil, gas oil with esterified bio-diesel oil 5% and wasted soybean oil non-esterified 5% on diesel engine with the electronic fuel injection were carried out. It is noticed that gas oil with wasted soybean oil non-esterified 5% has more similar characteristics to gas oil than gas oil with esterified bio-diesel oil 5%.

  • It has recently been reported that methanol fuel has been used in the product carrier with established duel fuel engine, which has been greatly reducing emissions of $CO_2$, NOx and SOx from the engine. However, to use methanol alone as fuel oil in a general diesel engine, design modification of cylinder head is needed because the ignition aid device or the duel fuel injection system is needed. On the other hand, only if the mixer is installed on the fuel oil supply line, diesel oil - methanol blending oil can be used as fuel oil for the diesel engine, but there is a problem of the phase separation when two fuels are mixed. In this study, diesel oil and methanol were blended compulsorily in preventing the phase separation with installing agitators and a fuel oil boost pump on fuel line of a test engine. Also, cylinder pressure and fuel consumption quantity were measured according to engine load and methanol blending ratio, and indicated mean effective pressure, heat release rate and combustion temperature obtained from the single zone combustion model were analyzed to investigate the effects of latent heat of vaporization of methanol on combustion stability and characteristics. As a result, the combustion stability and characteristics of 10% methanol blending oil are closest to the those of diesel oil, and it could be used as fuel oil in existing diesel engines without deterioration of engine performance and combustion characteristics.

  • In this study, using frying oil, performance of engine and emission concentration were compared with the case of using diesel oil. And results are as follows. 1. Engine torque and brake horse power indicate nearly same value as the case of using diesel fuel. 2. Temperature of exhaust gas was increased with as high engine speed and load. 3. To reduce concentration of hydrocarbon, it is effective to operate using used frying oil in low engine speed and load, and adding LPG in high engine speed and load. 4. Concerning with concentration of carbon mono oxide and smoke emission, it was assured, that as engine load increased, lower concentration emitted in case of utilizing mixed fuel than that of utilizing pure diesel fuel.

  • As an alternative fuel producing less exhaust emissions, natural gas is of interest for use both in SI and CI engines. The potential of natural gas fuelled dual-fuel engine is considered high enough. However, much effort has to be made so that gaseous fuel is used efficiently with simultaneous minimum use of pilot oil. Hence, a simplified three-dimensional model, using a finite volume method in cylindrical coordinates, has been developed to facilitate an understanding of the dual-fuel combustion phenomena and to predict the complex interactions between the pilot distillate and natural gas. The computer model was calibrated by comparing it with the experimental results obtained from diesel engine like combustion bomb tests. In the pre-mixed natural gas combustion, the fuel burning was highly reliant on the injection condition and subsequent burning nature of the pilot distillate.

  • 최근 국제 유가의 상승으로 인한 선박 운용비를 절감하기 위하여 중소형 선박에서도 저질연료유의 사용이 검토되고 있는 추세이다. 이 연구에서는 현재 중소형 선박에서 연료유로 사용중인 경유와 중유MF380을 혼합하여 소형선박에 사용이 가능하도록 제조한 혼합연료유인 MF30 연료유에 대하여 그 물리 화학적 특성을 분석하고 정제처리 및 연료유첨가제 효과에 대해 알아보았다. 연구결과 두 가지 전처리 방식인 원심식청정기와 가열 및 균질 방식(M.C.H)의 효과는 다소 미약하였지만, 유동점과 인화점은 다소 낮아졌다. 연료유첨가제로 인한 개질 효과는 뚜렷이 나타나지 않았다.
