Recently, as many functional blocks are integrated on a small area the high speed integrated circuits emerge as a critical electromagnetic interferer which causes mal-function of adjacent circuitries and lowers the sensitivity of the wireless receivers. Therefore, it is necessary to devise an precise analyzing tool to pinpoint the major electromagnetic noise contributor among the internal circuit blocks of high speed IC's. This paper presents the design, fabrication, and measurement results of the high resolution magnetic field probe which can measure the current density on the IC surface. In order to achieve the high resolution, the magnetic field probe is fabricated using 3-metal semiconductor process so that its thickness is reduced by 10% than that of conventional works. Through the magnetostatic analysis and EM simulation, spatial resolution and sensitivity to the nonmagnetic field components are analyzed. Experimentally, it is found that the fabricated probe can measure the current density on the IC surface with $210{\mu}m$-spatial-resolution.
This paper proposed a microstrip antenna that can perform jamming of satellite signals from the GPS L5, GLONASS G3, BDS B2 frequency bands (1164 - 1217 MHz) that are employed mainly for military purposes among the GNSS frequencies using unmanned aircrafts over the enemy's sky in time of emergency. The single element in the proposed antenna can be easily mounted to unmanned aircrafts. This study analyzed the characteristics of miniaturization and beam of radiating elements by applying the image theories and perturbation effect to satisfy the uniform level at ${\pm}45^{\circ}$ of beam steering goal due to the phase delay after antenna array. The designed microstrip antenna had a miniaturized radiating element area (x-y plane), which was reduced by 76.3% compared to that of basic microstrip antenna, and its beam width was $190^{\circ}$ in the E-plane and $140^{\circ}$ in the H plane. In addition, the simulation was conducted to determine the characteristics due to the phase delay by arranging the designed single microstrip antenna by $1{\times}4$ array and the results showed that beam steering of ${\pm}45^{\circ}$ is possible in the H-plane on the basis of $0^{\circ}$. Thus, the proposed antenna was verified to be effective in satellite signal jamming in the air as it was attached to the lower end of unmanned aircrafts.

In this paper, an X-band oscillator is presented using a new miniaturized microstrip hairpin resonator. The newly designed hairpin resonator on the microstrip line employs the spiral structure, which shows a higher loaded quality factor and the 50 % reduced circuit area compared to the conventional one at 9.2 GHz. The oscillator using proposed resonator shows the output power of 10.87 dBm, the second harmonic suppression of 41.99 dBc, and the phase noise performance of -101.49 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset, which is better than the conventional resonator oscillator by 6.17 dB.

This paper presents dual-mode ring-resonator bandpass filter using LUC of artificial-transmission-lines. The conventional ring-resonator bandpass filter has limitation in miniaturization because the conventional ring-resonator is based on a one wavelength operation, and problem due to undesire harmonics. The ring-resonator bandpass filter is miniaturized and show higher order mode rejection by configuring a ring-resonator with LUC of artificial-transmission-lines. The two-stage bandpass filter is designed and fabricated with a ring-resonator and input/output interdigital coupled line. A fabricated filter shows dual-mode, rejection of whole ultra wide band, sharp skirt characteristics and has ring area reduced by 60 % compared to the conventional ring-resonator bandpass filter.

In this paper, experimental studies on the shroud separation were performed to investigate characteristics of the shroud separation at mach 3. Shroud separation tests were carried out in the vertical free-jet wind tunnel that is capable of testing separable structures. A shroud model was miniaturized to meet test objectives and test section dimensions of the wind tunnel. Pneumatic Locking and separation mechanisms were designed considering external force due to free stream. High speed cameras were used to record the shroud motion and unsteady shock patterns over the deploying shrouds during the shroud separation process. Also, unsteady pressures on the nose surface were measured by using the pressure sensors. Through the tests, the measurement data necessary for researches on the shroud separation technology were obtained. Shroud separation behaviors and characteristics of unsteady pressure on the nose surface for each external flow conditions were analyzed.
In the life assessment for plant structural component, the research on deterioration of toughness and material properties occurred in weldments has been considered as very important problems. In general, the microstructures composed in weldments are hugely classified with weld metal(W.M), fusion line(F.L), heat affected zone(HAZ), and base metal(B.M). It has been reported that the creep characteristics on weldments having variable microstructures could be unpredictably changed. Furthermore, it is also known that HAZ adjacent to F.L exhibits the decreased creep strength compared to those in base or weld metals, and promotes the occurrence of Type III and Type IV cracking due to the growth of grains and the coarsening carbides precipitated in ferritic matrix by welding and PWHT processes. However, the lots of works reported up to date on creep damage in power plant components have been mostly conducted on B.M and the creep properties on a localized microstructures in weldments have not as yet been throughly investigated. In this paper, for various microstructures such as coarse grain HAZ(CGHAZ), W.M and B.M in X20CrMoV121 steel weldment, the small punch-creep(SP-Creep) test using miniaturized specimen(t=0.5mm, 0.25mm) is performed to investigate a possibility for creep characteristics evaluation.

A basic research was performed to ensure the usefulness of Small Punch-creep(SP-creep) test for residual life evaluation of heat resistant components effectively. This paper presents analytical results of initial stress and strain distributions in SP specimen caused by constant loading for SP-creep test and its experimental correlations with uniaxial creep(Ten-creep) test on 9Cr1MoVNb steel. It was shown that the initial maximum equivalent stress, ${\sigma}_{eq{\cdot}max}$ from FE analysis was correlated with steady-state equivalent creep strain rate, ${\epsilon}_{qf-ss'}$ rupture time, $t_r$, activation energy, Q and Larson-Miller Parameter, LMP during SP-creep deformation. The simple correlation laws, ${\sigma}_{sp}-{\sigma}_{TEN}$, $P_{sp}-{\sigma}_{TEN}\; and\; Q_{sp}-Q_{TEN}$ adopted to established a quantitative correlation between SP-creep and Ten-creep test data. Especially, the activation energy obtained from SP-creep test is linearly related to that from Ten-creep test at $650^{\circ}C$ as follows : $Q_{SP-P}\;{\risingdotseq}\;1.37 \;Q_{TEN},\; Q_{SP-{\sigma}}{\risingdotseq}1.53\; Q_{TEN}$.

The extent of materials deterioration can be evaluated accurately by mechanical test such as impact test or creep test. But it is almost impossible to extract a large test specimen from in-service components. Thus material degradation evaluation by non-destructive method is earnestly required. In this paper, the material degradation for virgin and several aged materials of a Cr-Mo-V steel, which is an candidated as structural material of the turbine casing components for electric power plant, is nondestructively evaluated by reactivation polarization testing method. And, the results obtained from the test are compared with those in small punch(SP) tests recommended as a semi-nondestructive testing method using miniaturized specimen. In contrast to the aged materials up to 1,000hrs which exhibit the degradation behaviors with increased ${\Delta}[DBTT]_{SP}$, the improvement of mechanical property can be observed on the 2,000hrs and 3,000hrs aged materials. This is because of the softening of material due to the carbide precipitation, the increase of ferritic structures and the recovery of dislocation microstructure by long-time heat treatment. The reactivation rates($I_R/I_{Crit},\;Q_R/Q_{Crit}$) calculated by reactivation current densityt ($I_R$) and charge($Q_R$) in the polarization curves exhibit a good correlation with ${\Delta}[DBTT]_{SP}$ behaviors.

In micro-fluid systems, fluids are injected into extremely narrow polymer channels in small amounts such as micro-, nano-, or pico-liter scales. These channels themselves are embedded on tiny chips. Various specialized structures in the chips including pumps, valves, and channels allow the chips to accept different types of fluids to be entered the channel and along with flowing through the channels, exert their effects in the framework of different reactions. The chips are generally crystal, silicon, or elastomer in texture. These highly organized structures are equipped with discharging channels through which products as well as wastes of the reactions are secreted out. A particular advantage regarding the use of fluids in micro-scales over macro-scales lies in the fact that these fluids are much better processed in the chips when they applied as micro-scales. When the laboratory is miniaturized as a microchip and solutions are injected on a micro-scale, this combination makes a specialized construction referred to as "lab-on-chip". Taken together, micro-fluids are among the novel technologies which further than declining the costs; enhancing the test repeatability, sensitivity, accuracy, and speed; are emerged as widespread technology in laboratory diagnosis. They can be utilized for monitoring a wide spectrum of biological disorders including different types of cancers. When these microchips are used for cancer monitoring, circulatory tumor cells play a fundamental role.

This paper presents design simulation, implementation, and measurement of a miniaturized GPS/K-PCS dual-band LTCC chip antenna for mobile communication handsets. The dimension of LTCC chip antenna is $9mm\times15mm\times1.2mm$. The meander type radiating patch for dual-band operation is realized by using via holes with 0.3mm height to connect upper and lower-layer antenna. The lower meander type antenna is to be tuned to the lower frequency (GPS) band. The upper meander antenna with via hole connection is to contribute the higher frequency (K-PCS) band. The resonant frequency and frequency ratio of the proposed antenna can be adjusted by changing the height of via-hole and effective path of meander radiating patch. The electrical characteristics of the meander chip antenna applied to a GPS/K-PCS are suitable for mobile communication application.
