Background: Sacral nerve stimulation is a therapeutic option with demonstrated efficacy for conditions presenting with perineal pain caused by different etiologies. We aimed to assess whether a sacral electrode ($Interstim^{(R)}$, Medtronic, Minneapolis, MN, USA) inserted through the caudal pathway is able to offer an acceptable level of sacral stimulation and rate of catheter migration. Methods: We present 12 patients with pelvic pain who received sacral neuromodulation via the sacral hiatus with the InterStim electrode. We evaluated patient satisfaction as well as migration and removal of the electrode, if necessary. Results: Our experience included 12 patients, 10 women and two men, with a mean age of 60 years. In eight of the 12 patients, the initial therapy was effective, and the final system implantation was performed. During subsequent follow-up, patient satisfaction was good. To date, there have been no cases of electrode displacement or migration. Conclusions: The caudal insertion of the InterStim electrode, with its own fixation system, and initially designed for transsacral insertion, appears in our experience to be a satisfactory option which can minimize electrode displacements, achieving similar results in therapeutic efficacy and causing no difficulties in removal.

This study compared working arrangements, interest in rural migration, and life satisfaction in Japan in two periods: immediately after the COVID-19 (2019 coronavirus disease) pandemic and two years after the global outbreak. The comparison was based on data from the "Survey on Changes in Attitudes and Behaviors in Daily Life under the Influence of Novel Coronavirus Infection, 2020, 2021", which was conducted four times by the Japanese Cabinet Office directly after the COVID crisis (May 2020 and September 2021). The respondents who participated in both the first and fourth surveys were employed individuals aged 20 years or older. The results are as follows. First, the proportion of Tokyo residents engaging in telework immediately after the COVID-19 pandemic was 36.1%, which is higher than the levels observed nationwide. Second, individuals involved in telework and those working under flexible arrangements were more highly interested in moving to rural areas than those who commute to work. Third, among people engaged in telework, life satisfaction diminished immediately after the COVID-19 pandemic compared with the period before this crisis. After two years of the pandemic, however, life satisfaction among this group improved. Changes in working arrangements due to the pandemic can be expected to promote migration, as well as help revitalize regions and encourage the discovery of new lifestyles.
This paper pays attention to the recent increase of young Koreans working in the low-skilled service sector in Singapore. Such rapid increase largely results from the Korean government's initiatives to promote labour migration of young people and the concurrent proliferation of migration agencies, against the background of growing youth unemployment in South Korea. By exploring the motivations and trajectories of young people's labour migration to Singapore, this study examines to what extent they think their expectations have been met and how they interpret their migration and work experiences. There has been little research that examines the actual voices of young migrants as part of migration studies, whilst the majority of previous research focuses on the evaluation of government support programmes based on job matching rates, surveys of participant satisfaction and etc. Young people who went to Singapore to improve their English language skills and qualifications for future employment in Korea have become frustrated due to low-skilled service jobs that consist of low pay and high labour intensity. Their credentials are devalued and they experience deskilling through this migration process. Most of them were discontent with the Korean migration agencies they used and critical about programmes offered by government institutions and universities/colleges. Despite being subject to deskilling, they did try to actively cope or resist this situation. This study focuses on the various ways these migrants attempted to manage the gap between their initial expectations and reality. It also demonstrates how these migrants interpreted their work experiences after returning to Korea: whilst most of them did not cash off their Singapore work experience for a decent job after returning to Korea, they did not define their experience as a complete failure. Adding to cultural, social capital they gained through this experience, they acquired 'mobility capital' which includes confidence, the desire to move, and capacity to control one's own movement.
Objectives: To deter job migration and to facilitate a more efficient personnel management system, a personality type analysis tool, such as MBTI and Enneagram, may be considered. These tools can facilitate better recognition of talent among prospective employees, as well as more efficient allocation of tasks for greater job satisfaction. Methods: This study conducted direct interviews with dental hygienists currently employed at two major dental organizations, which operate the largest networks of clinics across the greater metropolitan area. Results : First, in terms of number of turnover experiences, the Head Type showed lower task satisfaction, whereas the Body Type exhibited greater task satisfaction. Second, the Head Type showed greater job satisfaction compared to the other types. Third, the SJ Type, often considered the traditionalist in terms of long-term employments, exhibited greater tendencies toward long-term commitment with one employer. Fourth, dental hygienists, in terms of long-term employment, are negatively affected by task satisfaction, and positively affected by job satisfaction. Conclusions: It is thought to be considerable to use personality type analysis tools in clinical human resource management.

This study attempts to explore settlement and adaptation status involved in differing urban-to-rural migration types in Gyeongbuk Province and suggests policy implications based on this analysis. The attributes of urban-to-rural migrants in Gyeongbuk Province differ spatio-temporally, and their status of settlement and adaptation is also different depending on urban-to-rural migration types. "U-turn" migrants who are mostly first-generation rural-to-urban migrants with experience in farming and rural community life engage primarily in crop agriculture. "J-turns" and "I-turns," who have no experience in farming or rural community life, migrated for idyllic rural life. The household income of these types is relatively low compared to U-turn type. U-turns' degree of adaptation is relatively lower than the other types, and U-turn migrants mainly rely on family and community assets in order to solve problems. J-turns' and I-turns' degree of satisfaction is relatively high. However they typically have substantial difficulties in adapting due to lack of pre-migration preparation. Policy implications are : 'switching away from general and inclusive policies of support,' 'transition to policies embedded in the attributes of regions and migration types,' 'improvement of policy governance,' 'enhancement of support for pre-migration preparation and customized support based on the needs of migrants,' and 'comprehensive improvements of settlement environment to better integrate migrants with current residents.'.
This study was conducted to understand how the conflict experiences of those who returned to farming and country affected the relation with residents, satisfaction of movement, and participation rate in the community with 961 subjects that returned to farming and country in Uiryeong-gun. The study results are as follows. First, 15.6% of them experienced the conflicts with original residents. Second, there were differences in experiencing conflicts by the type of movement. Those who returned to farming and country from urban areas showed more experiences of conflicts with original residents than those from Uiryeong or rural areas. Therefore, it is necessary to educate those from urban areas on the detailed conflict cases and countermeasures against the conflicts. Third, those who returned to farming and country with conflict experiences showed more negative perception on the relation with residents, and lower satisfaction level on their returning. Fourth, negative correlation was found between conflict experiences and relation with residents, demonstrating lower satisfaction on the returning and participation in the community as they perceived the relation with residents more negatively. These study results can be utilized as the basic data to establish the future policies on the supports for settlement of returning to farming and country.
This study examines degree of fairness migrant workers in Korea feel with their wages in comparison to those of their homeland and Korean workers who do the same job in Korea as theirs, and what factors affect the feelings. For the study, 742 migrant workers from China, Vietnam, Philippines, and Indonesia employed by manufacturing firms in Seoul and Gyenggi areas were surveyed. The results show that most migrant workers in Korea feel unfair about their wages, and the feeling of unfairness appears more strongly when comparing with the Korean workers than with their homeland workers. The effectiveness of variables affecting fairness also varies according to the object of comparison: in comparison to homeland workers, age, sex, monthly income before migration, money spent for employment, and satisfaction with working conditions are significant: in comparison to Korean workers, ethnicity, sex, legal status, satisfaction with working conditions are significant.

With the rapid development of the Internet of Things(IoT) technology recently, multi-access edge computing(MEC) is emerged as a next-generation technology for real-time and high-performance services. High mobility of users between MECs with limited service areas is considered one of the issues in the MEC environment. In this paper, we consider a vehicle edge computing(VEC) environment which has a high mobility, and propose a task migration algorithm to decide whether or not to migrate and where to migrate using DQN, as a reinforcement learning method. The objective of the proposed algorithm is to improve the system throughput while satisfying QoS(Quality of Service) requirements by minimizing the difference between queueing delays in vehicle edge computing servers(VECSs). The results show that compared to other algorithms, the proposed algorithm achieves approximately 14-49% better QoS satisfaction and approximately 14-38% lower service blocking rate.

Recently, research on mobile edge services has been conducted to handle computationally intensive and latency-sensitive tasks occurring in wireless networks. However, MEC, which is fixed on the ground, cannot flexibly cope with situations where task processing requests increase sharply, such as commuting time. To solve this problem, a technology that provides edge services using UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) has emerged. Unlike ground MEC servers, UAVs have limited battery capacity, so it is necessary to optimize energy efficiency through load balancing between UAV MEC servers. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a load balancing technique with consideration of the energy state of UAVs and the mobility of vehicles. The proposed technique is composed of task offloading scheme using genetic algorithm and task migration scheme using Q-learning. To evaluate the performance of the proposed technique, experiments were conducted with varying mobility speed and number of vehicles, and performance was analyzed in terms of load variance, energy consumption, communication overhead, and delay constraint satisfaction rate.

Background and objective: Rural migrants are an important human resource in urban and rural exchange (URE) business, therefore it is necessary to enhance their awareness and intent-to-participate. This study was to analyze the rural migrants' recognition and intent-to-participate of URE business and to propose the enhancement of them both. Methods: The questionnaire was designed to analyze the socio-demographic background, motivations, satisfaction with settlement, intent-to-persist, and intent-to-participate of URE business including tourism. The data of 144 respondents was subject to the statistical analysis. Results: The motives of migration were to enjoy leisure life after retirement, increased tiredness of city life, health problems, etc. The satisfaction with settlement was 3.67 at 5-point Likert scale. The intent-to-recommend and intent-to-publicize were 3.40 and 3.46, respectively. The intent-to-participate was 3.45, which was affected by the necessity of URE business and the support of central/local governments, and also showed a significant correlation with the satisfaction with settlement, intent-to-recommend, intent-to-publicize, tourism resources for green tourism or rural tourism, driving a car in Namhae county, and the service and price of meals. They thought the missions that the Namhae county office must focus on were to establish an internal/external public relations systems, establish a support system of central/local governments, and foster/support local leaders. Conclusion: It is necessary to improve the satisfaction with settlement and intent-to-persist, expand exchanges with local people, improve internal/external public relations systems, foster/support leaders, improve transportation in the county, enhance the service and price of meals, and develop/operate URE programs including tourism.
