일 지역 초.중.고등학교 사고 유형과 이에 따른 응급처치 실태 (A Study on the Types of School Accidents and First Aids at Elementary, Middle, and High Schools in a Local Province)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the types of school accidents and their first aids at Elementary, Middle, High Schools in a local area. Methods: The subjects were 1062 students who have had episodes of school accidents from 730 (Elementary = 429, Middle = 188, High = 113) schools in Chungnam province from January to December, 2006. Data were collected from accident-related record from school nurse and 'School Safety Fund', and analyzed using the SPSS Version 13.0 programs and the results and conclusions are as follows: Results: The proportion of school accidents occurred were in middle(0.43%), high(0.35%), primary(0.30%) school students. And the most frequent type of accident was fracture and then sprain. Most school accidents broke out in playground during resting time, and followed by physical education class. The most frequent cause of school accidents was carelessness and first aid was fixation the injury. Conclusion: Based on these findings, school-based and continuous safety education programs and emergency care system within school and in community can be suggested in collaboration with health-related resources. Further longitudinal study to identify causes and kinds of school accidents and can also be recommended.

우리나라 학생의 과학긍정경험 추이 및 하락 원인 분석 (Analysis for Trends and Causes of the Decline in Korean Students' Positive Experiences about Science)

  • 이 연구에서는 우리나라 초·중·고등학교 학생을 대상으로 학년 및 학교급에 따른 학생의 과학긍정경험의 추이와 하락 원인을 조사하였다. 이를 위해 서울특별시에 있는 일반 초·중·고등학교에서 4학년~10학년 학생을 학년별로 표집한 후, 학생들의 과학긍정경험 및 하락 원인을 묻는 설문을 시행하였다. 과학긍정경험 지표 검사에 대한 일원 분산 분석 결과, 전체 평균에서는 학년과 학교급에 따라 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다. 그러나 과학긍정경험의 하위 영역별로는 결과가 다소 다르게 나타났다. 즉 과학학습정서에서는 중학생보다 초등학생의 평균이 통계적으로 유의하게 높았으며, 초등학교 4학년의 평균이 중학교 1학년, 중학교 3학년, 고등학교 1학년의 평균보다 각각 유의하게 높았다. 과학관련 진로포부에서는 중학생보다 고등학생의 평균이 통계적으로 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 과학관련 자아개념, 과학학습동기, 과학관련 태도에서는 학년 및 학교급에 따른 점수 차이가 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 과학긍정경험의 하위 영역별 주요 하락 원인은 학교급에 따라 다소 달랐다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 학년 및 학교급에 따라 과학긍정경험을 향상시키는 방안을 모색하였다.

중등 과학교과서에서 증발, 끓음의 설명에 제시된 개념간의 관련 정도 분석 (Analysis of Concepts Related to Explanations of Evaporation and Boiling in Secondary School Science Textbooks)

  • 이 연구에서는 6차와 7차 교육과정에서 개발한 중 고등학교 과학 교과서에 제시된 증발과 끓음의 설명과 관련된 개념들을 분석하였다. 교과서의 설명 유형은 중학교과 고등학교, 6차와 7차 교육과정, 그리고 과목이나 단원에 따라 구분하여 설명의 다양성을 확인해 보고, 설명에 사용된 개념간의 관계를 표현한 맵을 중심으로 특징을 비교하였다. 증발과 끓음에 관련된 설명의 차이는 주로 중학교과 고등학교 사이, 그리고 화학과 지구과학 분야 사이에서 발견되었다. 증발과 끓음 현상을 설명하기 위한 주요 개념들 사이의 관련성은 부족산 것으로 나타났다.

중학생의 휴대전화 이용 동기 및 성별에 따른 부모와의 의사소통 수준 (Motivations for Cellular Phone Uses and Parent-Children Communication by Gender among Middle School Students)

  • This study examined factors related to the motivation for the uses of cellular phones and the relationship between motivation for cellular phone use and parent-child communication among middle school students. A total of 223 questionnaires were submitted and analyzed. The characteristics of motive structure of the middle school students were found as recreation, time management, information-seeking, reassurance and fashion/showing off. Among those motivations, these middle school students examined here were found to use cellular phones in similar ways to how conventional telephone is used such as work/instrumental reasons and socializing/entertaining. The motivations showed a significant association with the level of parent-child communication. Information-seeking and time management motivation were positively related with an open communication level while fashion/showing off and recreation were negatively related with an open communication level.

Impacts of Organizational Factors on Work Motivation and Job Performance: Evidence from SMEs in Vietnam

  • This study estimates the influence of organizational-level factors on work motivation and job performance of middle managers of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam. A 5-point-Likert-scale structural questionnaire consisting of 36 observation variables was used to survey middle managers of Vietnamese SMEs. 425 out of 500 responses collected were valid for multivariate data analysis. The results of confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling reveal three main findings. First, philosophy and policy, compensation and benefits, goal system, and leadership have positively significant impacts on the work motivation of middle managers under investigation. Second, there is a significantly positive influence of work motivation on job performance. However, there is no indication that growth opportunities, work environment, evaluation system have significant impacts on the work motivation of respondents. Based on the findings, the study suggests four recommendations for Vietnamese SMEs to improve motivation and job performance of middle managers, which are (1) ensuring the clarity and soundness of the organizational policies and philosophies, especially human resources policy that boosts employees' work motivation; (2) building a comprehensive compensation and benefit system to attract and retain talented employees; (3) developing a clear and adequate goal system; (4) enhancing top-level managers' leadership abilities.

중학생의 정서지능, 연예인 우상화가 학교생활적응에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Emotional Intelligence and Entertainer Idolization on School Life Adjustment in Middle School Students)

  • This study examined the effects of emotional intelligence and entertainer idolization on school life adjustment of middle school students. For this study, questionnaires were administered to 300 first graders attending three different middle schools. The results were analyzed using correlation and hierarchical regression analysis with SPSS/PC window program. The results were as follows. Firstly, general trends of emotional intelligence showed a slightly higher than average score. The score of entertainer idolization was relatively low and the characteristic factor score was higher than the assessment factor score. For school life adjustment, the factor having the highest influence was relationship with friends. Secondly, the most influential factor on school life adjustment was emotional regulation, followed by academic grades, emotional recognition, emotional expression, and empathy. In conclusion, the level of entertainer idolization in middle school students was moderate. The important influential factors on school life adjustment were emotional intelligence factors and academic grades. In particular, emotional regulation was found to have the greatest influence.

일 도시 중학생을 위한 학교정신보건사업 모형 - 광주광역시 남구효사랑 청소년정신보건센터 - (Model of School Mental Health Program for Middle School Students in a City : Center for the Hyosarang Adolescent Mental Health, Namgu, Gwangju City)

  • Purpose: The goal of this paper is to offer practical suggestions for developing, implementing, and maintaining a successful school mental health program based on the model of a school mental health program for middle school students at the Namgu Hyosarang adolescent Mental Health Center. The model will be divided into six areas and the challenges and future direction of this program: creative approach to funding, creative staffing, education, training, needs assessment & resource mapping, collaboration and partnerships in a school mental health program, and developing an outcome evaluation research. Method: This is a descriptive study of the school mental health program model for middle school students of Namgu Hyosarang Adolescent Mental Health Center implemented over a four year period. Conclusion: Within this paper, a blueprint that can guide the development and implementation of school mental health programs has been offered. The actual application of this model will vary depending on the structure and goals of individual programs and schools. This model of our center has been identified as an effective school mental health program and the actual application program in regular learning times to middle school students. Establishing guidelines about the types of activities necessary for the successful implementation and sustainability of a school mental health program constitutes the first step in standardizing this process, and the school mental health movement continues to receive national recognition as a viable services delivery model for adolescents in need of mental health services. The recommendations outlined indicate that a school mental health program is more effective and necessary than the clinical service of a psychiatric hospital for adolescents' emotional/behavioral problems.

전통적 수업에 의한 중학교 학생들의 과학개념 변화 (Middle School Students' Conceptual Change about Science Concepts Through Traditional Teaching and Learning)

  • Middle school students' conceptual changes on physics, chemistry, biology and earth science concepts which were intentionally selected by researchers had been investigated through traditional teaching and learning by paper and pencil tests and P.O.E. The weak points had been studied by individual interviews about the problems of traditional science classroom teaching after students' testing and learning about science concepts. As results, students' conceptual changes could be hardly found through traditional teaching and learning except several concepts in biology, The weak points of traditional science classroom teaching and learning were as follows: 1) Teachers teach science as finding answers. 2) The conventional science test is not performed to find students' concepts out but to recall simple knowledge or calculus. 3) Students hesitate to ask teacher Questions in science class because of their colleagues' or teachers' blame. These mean that science teachers need specially designed teaching methods on the students' concepts and reseachers had to study about science classroom socialogy, what happened in science classrooms.
