A study of Train Running Simulation for Electronic Performance Analysis of Propulsion (추진 장치의 전기적 성능 시험을 위한 열차 운행 모의 성능 분석 연구)

  • The aim of the paper is to analysis on train propulsion system and to study for energy saving. For this study, we make the program that simulate actual operation of the train route. The train running simulation is performed from starting station to 4th station by using the route datas of Deajeon Metro Subway. The study for control method of electrical motor and energy recovery to save energy is selected. The train propulsion system is constituted as a M-G Set, which is realized via Space Vector Modulation(SVM) - Direct Torque Control(DTC), the energy consumption during train operation and energy recovery during breaking is simulated by Simplorer program, from this result, the energy consumption and recovery of train with SVM-DTC is studied.

  • This paper studied on the VVVF Inverter for 1C4M propulsion system of railway traction. The paper includes the comparison along a VVVF Inverter electric power conversion element for an electric railcar(GTO, IGBT). These inverters are composed of high power IGBTs and controlled by compact control units. The stack is simplified and optimized by using plate bus and IGBT driver units of hybrid-type.

  • In express operation plans for urban trains, it is effective for the reduction of the number of sidetracks to apply a high performance train that has improved acceleration/deceleration ability and a regular train to local and express trains, respectively. In this research, based on a plan to use a high performance train for a local train, an optimization methodology is suggested to reduce the number of sidetracks and the operation time of the local train simultaneously. The optimization solver applied in this research is a genetic algorithm; headway, location of sidetrack and waiting time at the sidetrack are considered as design variables in the optimization problem. Consequently, by applying this system to Seoul metro line no.7, the effect of the suggested methodology was verified by obtaining the proper optimum solution.

  • This paper is about the relations between the electric multiple unit and ESS(Energy Storage system, here after) applying bi-direction Buck-Boost Converter. ESS may be possible to suppress the line voltage drops and the power loading fluctuations and to save the regeneration power lapses. This paper confirm for simulation that ESS reusing regenerative power generated during braking in train. Also, presents the influence of regenerative power variation of train and catenary acceptability for energy saving obtained by applying the ESS to Daejeon Metro line 1.

  • After DAEGUE disaster, there are a lot of studying is focus on the safety of fire in korea. and Now there are taking place the modification of Urban Railway vehicle over the country. It is usually about the ability of fire resistance. But most of victims of this fire disaste in train on underground railway platform are because they could not leave the train in time and were trapped by hot gases. This study will investigate the plan of guide and evacuation plan of DAEGUE modification project and It will be compared with Madrid 8000 series metro's. and looking for reasonable and practical solution for Urban railway vehicle in Korea.

  • Urban railway signaling system is for train operation with safety in the urban crowded area, that has been increasing the demand of use of advanced train control systems with safe. European Commission is supporting the UGTMS(Urban Guided Transport Management System) project for the research and development. The main objective of UGTMS is to provide the European urban guided transport sector (comprising metro, tram and light rail systems) with a common Management System. A key topic is the extent to which the specifications for the successful ERTMS(European Rail Transport Management System) can be adapted to UGTMS needs. Beyond this, it is necessary to define the relevant functional and system requirements for all types of urban guided transport management systems in order to improve interoperability and intermodality. Also to be explored are the prospects for open system standards. In this article, we look into the trend of the standardization through the UGTMS project in Europe and consider any benefit to the project of the standardization for the urban railway signaling system in Korea.

  • Putting the urban maglev train to practical use requires the systematic management to predict and solve the problems in advance, which are expected to occur in the operation of the vehicle, at each lifecycle step such as concept design, manufacture, commissioning and maintenance. In this article, we review the trend of international specification for railway RAMS and suggest the RAMS program from the viewpoint of system engineering. In addition, RAMS requirements for the advance into the foreign market are presented through the investigation of RAMS specifications for Metro transit in various principal countries. Lastly, we suggest the direction of RAMS research on maglev train for putting it to use by analysing the trend of RAMS researches in Japanese railway.

  • Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) insulator has a higher performance than porcelain. It is only used in domestic AC 25 kV electric railway system. Seoul Metro has developed DC 1500 V FRP insulator since 2008. FRP support insulator of flexible property is affected by the wind in tunnel. A wind tunnel test was carried out to measure influence on the insulator housing when the train passed by. The test results showed that the wind which is resulted from the passing train had a little impact on the FRP insulator shed movements.

  • The command of Subway is intended to adjust and control the train operation, and to play a key role of the total passenger transport and all kinds of affairs related to the safe train operation. Also, this can be considered as affairs to be controlled and operated by Total Traffic Control. For the purpose of developing the ATO system in using the new control technology by substituting the conventional ATS equipment, this technical document includes the technical points resulted from doing the replacement construction in the entire section of Subway Line 2 by Seoul Metro. The replacement work with the new ATO System should neither stop nor affect the system under operation while operating the current ATS System. The different systems should not interfere with each other while performing their individual affairs, and be composed to share the important data for the parallel operation. This technology is needed to proceed in assurance of a high degree of reliability.
