Formation of optical meaning shown in the picture book screen is the original expression method in that it makes you understand properties or characteristics of subjects more easily and faster adding another images to them, exaggerating or reducing them as well as shows the phenomenon that you try to deliver. In this study, I first prepared the framework of classification on metaphorical expression methods of the picture books' illustration through theoretical study on the optical metaphorical characteristics and expression forms to analyze how the metaphorical expression methods shown in the picture books for children works optically and psychologically to them. Also, I divided the expression form into 2 types to derive optical psychological perceptional response of children through the empirical survey and analyzed linguistic psychological response of children by type utilizing it as the survey materials of in-depth interviews. Finally, I think that the result of this study will help screen production based on personality and creativity of illustrators and, in addition, it will be utilized in studies and tests of the effective expression methods for students who learn illustration.

Summary The purpose of this study was to understand the tendency and the meaning of day care center teachers regarding role playing through metaphorical analysis. The data were collected from 166 day care center teachers who participated in A-city university supplement education using the sentence completion metaphorical method. The collected data were categorized and analyzed through a qualitative research method conducted by 2 early childhood education specialists. The results are as follows. First, the tendency of role playing metaphorical expression was divided into 3 categories, 8 contents and the frequency of 'sociality development' was the highest followed by 'emotional development', 'development'. Second, the meaning of role playing metaphorical expression was recognized as 'social skills', 'role experience', 'imitation', and 'understanding of society' in the 'sociality development' category; as 'imagination', 'purification function', and 'means of expression' in the 'emotional development' category; and as 'essential factor of development' in the 'development' category. Based on the research result, it was suggested that the roles of education and teachers for the value and effective operation of role playing in early childhood education institutes should be reconsidered.

Centered on Kathleen Kye, a designer who conveyed messages on social issues through her dresses, and established her own identity, this study aimed to examine what theme, method of expression and inner meaning her 'statement' had, as a way of expressing a critical awareness. After reviewing discussions by Duggan G. G. as well as dictionary definitions, statement fashion design can be defined as a work or fashion shows containing a message of a designer who is free from a particular trend or consumerism in various social issues. Statement fashion designers give opposing messages on social issues through their fashion collections. As a result, research shows that contemporary statement fashion designers are expressing themes of a fashion systems, fetishism, body image, collision, environment, as well as the socially disadvantaged by appropriation, reuse, slogan, metaphorical pattern and performance. Satire, awakening, challenge and support can be derived from the inner meaning of contemporary statement fashion design. In terms of the theme, method of expression and inner meaning, this study showed that KYE collection of the designer Kathleen Kye expresses critical awareness on the modern society. Research findings reveal that KYE collection include the following themes: long-term youth unemployment, conflict collision in war or on the Internet, fetishism by youth in a get-rich-quick fever, environmental issue causing destruction of an ecosystem by decrease in bee population, school violence and the socially disadvantaged related to alienated immigrants. Also, as a method of expression themes, such as metaphorical patterns, were used. The patterns used images including a skeleton, gun, heart, rope, plaster, homeless box, bee, honeycomb, chain and a slot machine. On the other hand, the inner meaning of statement in KYE collection showed satire on social issues, awakening on social issues unrecognized by the masses, and support for the socially disadvantaged.

Nature is suiting to the objective of oneself, structurally safe and functional. It continues to transform itself into various forms and has aesthetic beauty. By analyzing how nature's organic property has been expressed in different cases of furniture design, which has objective purpose, this research presents designing pathway to induce nature's organic oder into the furniture design. Simile expression type clearly shows its form through exposing the natural material that it is made out of. Visually, esthetic beauty can be emphasized and mentally it can provide pleasantness. Metaphorical expression type only hints the original material that was used to reproduce. Under the same condition it can have subjective perception and it needs to be used suitably at the right place and time. Abstract expression type it might be hard to recognize the original material visually since it went through many transformation in expression, however it can stage extreme and mysterious atmosphere. Furniture designs employing these three types can have functionality as well as decorative and serve variety of change in the existing uniformed interior space, and it can also satisfy individual's need with practicality and provide aesthetic beauty.

On this article, techniques of satirical expression using animals in Cartoon & Animated cartoon media are studied and analyzed. By the method, it looks around briefly beginning from primitive cave paintings of the prehistoric age to various contemporary Cartoon & Animated cartoon character industries as historical background of Cartoon & Animated cartoon, and also arranges various types that literary expression and representation for visual expression techniques - metaphorical expressions, emblematic expressions, figure of speech and so forth - on literature. This attempt aims for presenting a basic analysis method that connecting and combining Cartoon & Animated cartoon media with humanistic classification and making database of existing data. These accumulated data will indicate cartoon and the action of meaning.

A method for developing a visual information concept that analogously compares and analyzes macroscopic data changes in a simple form is needed. The development of the visual information concept requires the selection of visualization form, selection of rhetorical effects, and selection of digital expression elements. Among them, an example of a rhetorical effect selection method for effectively delivering visual information to a user is presented. In this study, metaphorical rhetoric, which allows data comparison and analysis from a macroscopic point of view, was selected for stock price analysis by period and industry. We present a two-dimensional three-stage shape change using a dandelion with spreading cockle hair as a metaphor and a three-dimensional three-stage shape change information expression method using a coral peony flower that changes shape and color according to time as a metaphor. Using this rhetorical metaphor, it is possible to compare macroscopic trading changes and stock prices by industry.

Opposed to following the contours of the human body, the voluminous enlargement in costume, which characterizes the distinguished enlargement in space rather than the contour of human body, mean the enlargement aspect involving the vertical protrusion and the expansion of shape and volume as well as the extension of length. The costume enlargement as a different method of expression is a symbol showing a meaning of something and an aesthetic expression containing man's will. This voluminous enlargement of costume, as an aesthetic expression, has different formative characteristicsand immanent meanings according to ideals and thoughts as well as social and cultural background of each age Accordingly, the aesthetic consciousness also differaccording to the change of the times. To study the aesthetic consciousness of costume's voluminous enlargement, focous had been given to milieus that show comparatively conspicuous voluminous enlargement Periods that have been subjected to this study include costumes of the ancient Egypt, the Gothic period in the Middle age, the Renaissance, the Baroque Rococo of the recent times, and the modern era (Empire, Romantic, Art Nouveau. etc) With focus given to the principle of design obtained through this study were used to analyze the aesthetic characteristics, Futhermore, based on the spirit of the times and the socio-cultural symbolism, research on immanent meanings, as supported by objectivity and universal validity, was also made, the enlargement beauty of costume had been placed under the aesthetic category and, by interpreting the analogies of presented in aesthetic consciousness, the true nature of the voluminous enlargement in costume had been traced. The purpose of this study is to explore how to make use of the light and expression methods to embody phenomenal space by considering the representation techniques and characteristics of a variety of 'Phenomenal light' in his works focused on the Steven Holl's views that thought the light as object of creating space. The process is summarized as follows: (1) Study on the relationship between light and color, Classify concept and type of phenomenal light by phenomenal color (2) Consider the characteristics and expression methods of the phenomenal light in the Steven Holl's architecture (3) Finally, organize the concepts and representation techniques of phenomenal light, and then present method to embody phenomenal space by light. According to this, the results are as follows: (1) Perceptual color by the light of the sense forms a variety of perception and texture of light and shadow according to the contrast of shades and the change of materiality, thus embodying multisensory space with the light as the medium approach that helps to experience formal and tactile senses. (2) Spatial color by the light of volume distinguishes the flow and movement of sight, and embody inducing space with the light as Atypical activity that forms atmosphere of space through concentrated or overlapped mass of light and darkness. (3) Existential color by the light of the light source visualizes the existence of the uncertain light, and embody the receptive space with the light as emotional communication that forms symbolic and psychological meaning through metaphorical phenomena of colored light.

Geometrical figures have been used as artwork motifs from the ancient times to the present day. The area of fashion, being a part of modern art, is also largely influenced by geometry and geometrical shapes are being used as a motif for fashion design now more than ever before. However, studies about geometry in the fashion field are not yet done enough and further research is necessary. This research will therefore investigate the usages of round, square and triangular design in contemporary fashion. The main scope of this research is to look at the type of expression and analyze the intrinsic meanings of these shapes in modern fashion. This research will look profoundly into the general characteristics of these geometrical figures and analyze the effects and uniqueness found in the world collection introduced since 2007. As a result from this study, it was found that round and square objects were perceived in such a straightforward and positive way and these designs, when worn, really completed the final look. On the other hand, the triangular design was used mainly for spatial expansion and was interpreted in a more metaphorical, indirect and abstract way. The intrinsic meaning of round, square and triangle figures in contemporary fashion consists of the informal features that really steps out of the formative clothing structure. The topological changes that is formed from the interactive functions and the wholism that creates a new system through integration of the human body and clothing contains the intrinsic meaning of these geometrical figures. Based on the research results, the method of expression and the characteristics of modern day fashion's geometrical figures was able to be easily understood. This work provides the useful information on the development of fashion design and the extended interpretation of clothing structure.

Ostermeier's Hamlet has no particular contemporary reinterpretation. Alternately devoting to show retrospect in illusion and existence through revenging actions. However, Shakespeare's metaphorical and implicative language is dissipated and the style of the play is not an illusive space-time, but a tragic theatrical production that uses rough language to express the depth of the story. The Perfomance of Hamlet is a sensuous jumble up of a diverse range of mass media. The double roles that the actors carry out give an affect of isolation between the audience and the play itself showing both empathy and liberty. Ostermeier's Hamlet distinctively shows a post-modern performance through the prominent elements of dirt, the use of mixed genre, theatric emphasis, making an image and the fulfillment of acting. Nonetheless, Ostermeier's performance stays off the point on the breakup strategy of the post-modern drama without suspending the narrative of Shakespeare's Hamlet. Besides aiming to show a performance centered by the imagery of physical expression, his performance shows New Realism in the 1960's, showing everyday life. Ostermeier thinks, that theatre helps give contemporary people an accurate reality check in the constant unstable periods of time. Therefore, Hamlet shows post-modern physical expression and outspoken dramaturgy using the effects of mass media in New Realism without breaking up realistic narration. With being the aberration of the Castle Helsingor, the main character Hamlet, expresses lunacy and can be considered as metaphor for young adults whom are broken down and isolated from the economic system. He is a substitute for those who experience agony, anger, torment, etc. and other suppressed emotions in everyday life. With the method of direction in the portrayal of Hamlet show signs of succession in the abundant popularization of the classics by communicating with the audience by following the trend of modern mass media and audio-visual perception; emphasizing the point of the philosophical topic 'life and death,' 'life and theatre,' and 'illusion and reality.'
