In this study, we propose a multichannel interdigitated capacitor (IDC) sensor for detecting the bitterness of coffee. The operating principle of the device is based on the variation in capacitance of a sensing membrane in contact with a bitter solution. Four solvatochromic dyes, namely, Nile red, Reichardt's dye, auramine-O, and rhodamine-B, were mixed with polyvinylchloride (PVC) and N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAC), to create four different types of bitter-sensitive solutions. These solutions were then individually inserted into four interdigitated electrodes (IDEs) using a spin coater, to prepare four distinct IDC sensors. The sensors are capable of detecting bitterness-inducing chemical compounds in any solution, at concentrations of approximately $1{\mu}M$ to 1 M. The sensitivity of the IDC bitterness sensor containing the Reichardt's dye sensing-membrane was approximately 1.58 nF/decade. The multichannel sensor has a response time of approximately 6 s, and an approximate recovery time of 5 s. The proposed sensor offers a stable sensing response and linear sensing performance over a wide measurement range, with a correlation coefficient ($R^2$) of approximately 0.972.
An evaluation method for oxygen permeable characteristics of the membrane covering to each cathode of multiple cathode - single anode type dissolved oxygen sensor, which has high reproducibility and is capable of measuring multiple components in solutions. For this purpose, a measuring circuit for the multiple cathode type DO sensor was designed to lower the noise signal by adapting a digital LPF to readout the sensor output accurately. Digital LPF is designed by setting up the transfer function to set the cutoff frequency to 10Hz, and the transfer function is programmed by C language, and then the filtering characteristics are evaluated with the simulation and experiments. Using this LPF added measuring circuit for the multiple cathode type DO sensor, we have obtained the calibration factor for each cathode to calibrate the variation of the output signals. The calibration factor was obtained by measuring the sensor output signal followed by oxygen partial pressure, using the same oxygen permeable membrane at each cathode of the multiple cathode type DO sensor.
Plasticized poly(vinyl chloride), PVCs, with different membrane compositions tested for use in the construction of an ion-selective sensor for the determination dibucaine. A prepared membrane with dioctyl phthalate-PVC and ion-pair of N-(1-naphthyl)ethylenediamine dihydrochloride-tetraphenyl borate had a good potential to acts as a potentiometric sensor for the analysis of dibucaine. A linear relationship was obtained between potential and logC varying between $1.0{\times}10^{-6}$ and $1.0{\times}10^{-2}$ M dibucaine with a good repeatability and reproducibility. The sensor was applied for the determination of the drug in pharmaceuticals and biological fluids such as plasma and urine samples with satisfactory results. The drug electrode has also been used to study the interaction of bovine serum albumin (BSA) with dibucaine. The saturated quantities of dibucaine binding were 13.04, 5.30 and 9.70 mol/mol in 0.01, 0.02 and 0.1% of protein, respectively.
A micromachined sensor part for an infrared focal plane array has been designed and fabricated. Amorphous silicon was adapted as a sensing material, and silicon nitride was used as a membrane material. To get a good efficiency of infrared absorption, the sensor was made as a ${\lambda}/4$ cavity structure. All the processes were done in $0.5\;{\mu}m$ iMEMS fab. in the Electronics and Telecommunication Research Institute (ETRI). The processed MEMS sensor structure had a small membrane deflection less than $0.3\;{\mu}m$. This excellent deflection property can be attributed to the rigorous balancing of the stresses of individual layers. The efficiency of infrared absorption was more than 75% in the wavelength range $8\;-\;14\;{\mu}m$.
수소이온운반체로 HDBA(hexyldibenzylamine)나 HDPA(hexyldiphenylamine)을 이용하여 고분자막 pH 센서를 제작하였고, 온도 및 막의 두께 변화에 대한 전기화학적 특성을 연구하였다.
In this paper, we fabricated ceramic body and sapphire wafer in order to develop a hydraulic pressure sensor with high sensitivity and high temperature stability. The sapphire wafer was adopted with a membrane of capacitance ceramic pressure sensor. The capacitance value of the sensor for the finite element analysis(FEM) showed a linear pressure characteristics. Membrane was processed with a diameter of 32.4 mm and a thickness of 1 mm by using alumina powders. Ceramic body was processed with a diameter 32.4 mm and a thickness 5 mm. The capacitance pressure sensor was made with high heat treatment of the ceramic body and the sapphire wafer. Initially capacitance of the pressure sensor was 50 pF and a capacitance of 110 pF was measured from 5 bar pressure. Output voltage of 5 V was appeared at 5 bar pressure.
