  • With the removal of underwater obstacles in the Busan New Port, the water depth of the pier has been secured up to 17m, and the port authority is constantly responding to the trend of container vessels becoming larger. Also, in 2020, 24,000TEU class container ships are entering to the port, and it is planned to secure the depth in the port to 23 m later in line with this trend. Mega container ships must check in advance the factors to be considered depending on the situation at the time, and for this, it is judged that information sharing among stakeholders is necessary. In this paper, to understand the effect of the corresponding route because of the mega container ships, a transit safety evaluation was conducted based on statistical data on ship entry and departure and maneuver characteristics of corresponding ships. The result showed that the transit of the mega container ships has increased up to 8.4% comparing to the risk of 4,000TEU class container ships. Additionally, safety measures such as minimum safety depth and tug operation plans were presented by gathering opinions on operational characteristics from the perspective of pilotage for safe transit in the Busan New Port area. Through this, it is considered that it will be possible to contribute to the prevention of accidents when entering and leaving the Busan New Port.

  • The purpose of the study was to determine the suitability of the research model on the intentions of university students to watch mega sports events for people with disabilities to which the theory of planned behavior was applied, and to examine the influence relationship between variables. Based on the items of sub-variables derived from the previous research, the questionnaire was optimally constructed through expert meetings, validity, and reliability verification. For data analysis, Cronbach's 𝛼 and exploratory factor analysis were performed using SPSS 21.0, and structural equation model analysis (SEM) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were performed using AMOS 18.0. The results were as follows; first, as a result of verification of the research model of intentions of university students to watch mega sports events with people with disabilities to which the theory of planned behavior was applied, the evaluation indices of CFI, NFI, and IFI met the acceptance criteria, indicating that this research model was well suited. Second, as a result of examining the influence relationship of the research model on the intentions of university students to watch mega sports event for people with disabilities, it was found that the behavioral beliefs and normative beliefs of university students had a significantly positive (+) influence to intentions. However, it was found that there was a significantly negative (-) influence on the control beliefs to intentions.

  • Recently, the change of shipping and port environment has required the new strategy from the liners, terminal operators, ports. The ports of call in the North American and European line also has changed as the Chinese ports made rapid advance. This seems to result from the fact that the trend of the container transportation by sea has developed the traditional concept, called port-to-port system that directly links between a port and another port into the network with complicated hierarchical structure reflecting costs, efficiency, and strategy of the Mega Carrier. This paper suggests the factors for Busan port to become the hub port of northeast Asia by analyzing the change of the liners' strategy along the change of the shipping and port environment, the global management of the operator of container port, and the amount of containers flowing in the northeast Asia.

  • Construction project become larger and more complicated. Korea go through government complex relocation Mega-size program including many sub-projects which were complicated, long-term, and need extensive funding. Effective change management is very important for this kind of mega-project since it has many stakeholders and can't avoid continual change of schedule, budget, etc. Especially, change management process and system is very important for program success. When each project have changes, program is impacted by these changes. So, Change management is very important for effective program budget and time management. This study try to develop change management process and framework considering continuous changes in project level for effective program management. In addition, this study developed change management system and applied it to new mega-size program and analyze the effectiveness.

  • The purpose of this study is to present a plan to collect records for the post-management of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, which was held in February 2018. To achieve the research objectives, the value and types of records of the 2018 Winter Olympics follow-up records were identified, and the cases of mega sports event follow-up were selected and analyzed. Based on this, the following three measures were presented to collect records related to the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. First, records were collected based on collection methods over time. Second, records were collected based on the object and subject of recording. Third, records were collected based on subjects related to the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. The study's result can be used to establish a Pyeongchang Winter Olympics memorial hall and to prepare a collection plan for follow-up management after holding a domestic mega sports event.

  • International Exposition Yeosu Korea 2012 was held from May 12th 2012 to August 12th 2012 in New Port area of Yeosu-city, Jeollanam-do, Korea. 105 Nations and 10 international organizations participated in this mega event, and the total number of visitors amounts to 8.2 million. This study appraises the effectiveness of preparation for Yeosu Exposition. The main focus of this study is not on criticizing the problems that occurred in the transport measures. Instead, it looks at the current aspects of establishment and execution process and suggests how they can be applied differently in future transport management for international mega events held in Korea. The suggestions of this study are as follows. First, when establishing transport management plans for international mega events, the geographical features and trip resistance of the venue must be taken into consideration. Second, tasks should be distributed distinctly between the central government and the local government in order to prevent any dissension or inefficiency. Third, transport management needs to be consistent and transport guidance should be efficient in an effort to minimize visitor inconvenience. Last, transport management must be regarded as objective and rational from the outside view and the budget should follow timely based on this account.
