  • In general RBAC(Role-Based-Access Control) model, senior role has junior role's permissions by virtue of role hierarchy. But although the opposite case is needed partially in medical institutions, such case cannot be performed in medical information systems. This is because inheritances of permissions in role hierarchies are static. In order to tackle this problem, this paper defined a dynamic role assignment, thereby proposed the way for the junior temporarily to be able to perform the permissions of the senior, and showed the applications of medical information systems.

  • A high-voltage highly-integrated analog front-end (AFE) IC for medical ultrasound imaging applications is implemented using standard 0.18-${\mu}m$ CMOS process. The proposed AFE IC is composed of a high-voltage (HV) pulser utilizing stacked transistors generating up to 15 Vp-p pulses at 2.6 MHz, a low-voltage low-noise transimpedance preamplifier, and a HV switch for isolation between the transmit and receive parts. The designed IC consumes less than $0.15mm^2$ of core area, making it feasible to be applied for multi-array medical ultrasound imaging systems, including portable handheld applications.

  • The nursing informatics has been booming in Taiwan since 2003 when we started to use the end user computing strategy to promote it. We used Excel 2003, which was well known and used by our clinical nurses, as well as the embedded VBA to teach them how simple information applications could and should be built to meet their information management needs in order to support their professional responsibility. Many cost-effective projects were successfully done and the importance and potentials of nursing informatics started to be noticed. Our training strategy and materials are introduced in this paper.

  • Rapid developments in technology as part of the Fourth Industrial Revolution have created a demand for educational technology (EdTech) and a gradual transition from traditional teaching and learning to EdTech-assisted learning in medical education. EdTech is a portmanteau (blended word) combining the concepts of education and technology, and it refers to various attempts to solve education-related problems through information and communication technology. The aim of this study was to explore the use of key EdTech applications in medical education programs. A scoping review was conducted by searching three databases (PubMed, CINAHL, and Educational Sources) for articles published from 2000 to June 2021. Twenty-one studies were found that presented relevant descriptions of the effectiveness of EdTech in medical education programs. Studies on the application and effectiveness of EdTech were categorized as follows: (1) artificial intelligence with learner-adaptive evaluation and feedback, (2) augmented/virtual reality for improving learning participation and academic achievement through immersive learning, and (3) social media/social networking services with learner-directed knowledge generation, sharing, and dissemination in medical communities. Although this review reports the effectiveness of EdTech in various medical education programs, the number of studies and the validity of the identified research designs are insufficient to confirm the educational effects of EdTech. Future studies should utilize suitable research designs and examine the instructional objectives achievable by EdTech-based applications to strengthen the evidence base supporting the application of EdTech by medical educators and institutions.

  • The medical imaging processing area with the development of high-speed Internet and the portable embedded system under prevailed ubiquitous environment is quick in research and development for the system that can search and decipher the patient's information in anytime and anywhere. Especially, the new applications demand utilizing scout images besides diagnostic purposes. With the development of ubiquitous system, medical image viewers are utilizing to the hospitals combined with PACS system and Web browser. This paper implements the mobile terminal based medical image viewing system that shows the potential in wireless environment.

  • In the Internet of Medical Things, due to the sensitivity of medical information, data typically need to be retained locally. The training model of heart disease data can predict patients' physical health status effectively, thereby providing reliable disease information. It is crucial to make full use of multiple data sources in the Internet of Medical Things applications to improve model accuracy. As network communication speeds and computational capabilities continue to evolve, parties are storing data locally, and using privacy protection technology to exchange data in the communication process to construct models is receiving increasing attention. This shift toward secure and efficient data collaboration is expected to revolutionize computer modeling in the healthcare field by ensuring accuracy and privacy in the analysis of critical medical information. In this paper, we train and test a multiparty decision tree model for the Internet of Medical Things on a heart disease dataset to address the challenges associated with developing a practical and usable model while ensuring the protection of heart disease data. Experimental results demonstrate that the accuracy of our privacy protection method is as high as 93.24%, representing a difference of only 0.3% compared with a conventional plaintext algorithm.

  • In this paper, we propose a downlink power control scheme to apply in the unequal error protection multi-code CDMA mobile medicine system. The mobile medicine system contains (i) blood pressure and body temperature measurement value, (ii) ECG medical signals measured by the electrocardiogram device, (iii) mobile patient's history, (iv) G.729 audio signal, MPEG-4 CCD sensor video signal, and JPEG2000 medical image. By the help of the multi-code CDMA spread spectrum communication system with downlink power control scheme and unequal error protection strategy, it is possible to transmit mobile medicine media and meet the quality of service. Numerical analysis and simulation results show that the system is a well transmission platform in mobile medicine.
