SgrA* 22/43GHz KaVA observation and its Amplitude Calibration

  • We present the results of KaVA SgrA* observation together with Takahagi(32m), Yamaguchi(32m) and Nobeyama(45m) telescopes at 22 and 43GHz, respectively. In early 2014, G2 cloud was expected to encounter with SgrA* and to make a significant flux variation, but it has not been measured yet. So it's worth to check our amplitude calibration method to confirm if we have a missing flux caused by uncertainty in measuring it. We have tested both a standard method using system noise temperature(Tsys) with antenna gain information, and a template method in order to calibrate antenna gain using nearby maser source. As a result, we found that the latter method is useful for antennas which have inaccurate gain information or poor Tsys measurements, and is especially effective for sources at low elevation like SgrA*. In addition, the comparison shows that the amplitude calibration by standard method can be improved up to 10% with a correction factor using a template method. This result implies we can get more accurate flux from a standard method when any maser source not exists around target.

  • We propose a new variant of lateral shearing interferometer with a tunable laser source that enables 3D surface profile measurements of freeform optics with high speed, high vertical resolution, large departure, and large field-of-view. We have verified the proposed technique by comparing our measurement result with that of an existing technique and measuring a representative sample of freeform optics. Moreover, we propose a new algorithm that is able to compensate the rotational inaccuracy.

Effects of Ac Mutual Coupling According to Location of Auxiliary Electrodes In Measuring the Ground Impedance of Vertically or Horizontally Buried Ground Electrode (수직 또는 수평으로 매설된 접지전극의 접지임피던스 측정시 보조전극 위치에 따른 전자유도의 영향)

  • In order to minimize ac mutual coupling, the auxiliary electrode are located at a right angle in measuring ground impedance. In case that the measurement space is limited, the alternative method is employed. At that time, it is necessary to investigate the measurement errors due to ac mutual coupling and earth mutual resistance in measuring the ground impedances. 'This paper presents the measurement accuracy according to the location of the current and potential auxiliary electrodes in measuring ground impedance of vertically or horizontally buried ground electrode. The measurement errors due to ac mutual coupling were evaluated Consequently, the effect of ac mutual coupling on the measurement accuracy for horizontally buried ground electrode is greater than that for vertically buried ground electrode. Measurement errors due to ac mutual coupling is the largest when the current and potential auxiliary electrodes are located in parallel. The 61.8[%] rule is inappropriate in measuring ground measurement. Theoretically, in case that the angle between the current and potential auxiliary electrodes is 90$[^{\circ}]$, there is no ac mutual coupling. If it is not possible to route the current and potential auxiliary electrodes at a right angle with limitation of measurement space, the location of these electrodes with an obtuse angle is preferred to that with an acute angle in reducing the measurement errors due to ac mutual coupling.

  • The space Debris laser ranging system is called to be a definite type of satellite laser ranging system that measures the distance to satellites. It is a system that performs POD (Precise Orbit Determination) by measuring time of flight by firing a laser. Distance precision can be measured in mm-level units, and it is the most precise system among existing systems. Currently, KASI has built SLR in Sejong and Geochang, and utilized SLR data to verify the precise orbits of the STSAT-2C and KOMASAT-5. In recent years, due to the fall or collision of space debris, its satellites have been threatened, and in terms of security, laser tracking of space objects is receiving great interest in order to protect their own space assets and protect the safety of the people. In this paper, a 1.5m-class main mirror was applied for the system design of a multipurpose laser tracking system that considers satellite laser ranging and space object laser tracking. System preliminary performance analysis was performed based on Link Budget analysis considering specifications of major components.

The Characteristics of the winter season window and indoor temperature due to the indoor plant (동계 이중외피와 내부식재에 의한 실내 온도 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study desires to investigate an effect of indoor temperature, humidity, and illuminance targeting a planting system of double-skin facade and cavity space adjacent to the outside within a certain period of winter. Through this, the study suggests a basic material about an energy conservation effect of double window system using planting to reduce heating load of a building in winter, so desires to contribute to indoor thermal comfort effect and illuminance correction study of double window and indoor plant. Method: Considering effects such as day and night climatic elements and air conditions in winter, illuminance measurement was conducted through a double-skin facade of space, a subject of the measurement, on the basis of practical residence time of a resident, and this study analyzed characteristics of indoor illuminance about this. The study measured and compared a change of insolation, dry-bulb temperature, and relative humidity at each indoor-outdoor measuring point, so measured and compared characteristics of an indoor temperature effect by elements of double-skin facade and indoor plant. Result: Through this study, the researcher could determine that indoor plant within double window in winter not only blocks solar radiation but also photosynthesizes, so is somewhat disadvantageous to winter thermal comfort reducing heating load. In addition, solar radiation going through interior plays a role to bring down somewhat high humidity to about 50% of reasonable humidity, so plays a direct role of maintenance of comfortable indoor space. Although there are effects such as blocking of solar radiation and temperature reduction, this has a positive influence on humidity control and proper illuminance distribution. The researcher could determine that illuminance, temperature, and humidity by solar radiation penetration for the whole measuring time play a role to supplement indoor environment mutually.

  • A compact virtual-reality (VR) device with wider field of view provides users with a more realistic experience and comfortable fit, but VR lens distortion is inevitable, and the amount of distortion must be measured for correction. In this paper, we propose two different full-field distortion-measurement methods, considering the characteristics of the VR device. The first is the distortion-measurement method using multiple images based on camera calibration, which is a well-known technique for the correction of camera-lens distortion. The other is the distortion-measurement method by measuring lens distortion at multiple measurement points by rotating a camera. Our proposed methods are verified by measuring the lens distortion of Google Cardboard, as a representative sample of a commercial VR device, and comparing our measurement results to a simulation using the nominal values.

An Automatic Measuring System of the Electric Fields Produced by Lightning Strokes (뇌방전에 의하여 발생하는 전장의 자동측정시스템)

  • This paper deals with the electric field sensor and automatic measuring system of the time-varying space electric field produced by lightning discharges. The theoretical principle and the design rule of the measuring devices are investigated, and the semisphere-type electric field sensor and the signal process system are fabricated. From the calibration experiments, the frequency bandwidth of the measuring system ranges from 200 [Hz] to 1.56 [MHz] and the sensitivity is 0.96 [m V/V/m] as the amplification gain is 10. In addition, the electric field waveforms produced by lightning discharges are observed by the proposed electric field measuring system from June to August in 1995. The data is sampled with the time interval of 200 [ns] and is automatically recorded by transient signal analyzer(Necolet Pro 30), the resolution of which is 12 bit. And it is registered at personal computer. The electric field waveforms produced by intracloud discharge tend to be bipolar, with two or three narrow and fast rising pulses superimposed on the initial half-cycle.

  • In order to interpret rock slope safely and effectively, the mechanical properties of the rock must be carefully investigated. However, due to the limitations of clinometer usage, a new measure of measurement is required to complement these limitations. In this study, a measuring device was developed to analyze the characteristics of joint orientation, and to apply the orientation of joint to the field. The developed measuring equipment is divided into analysis software and hardware. The hardware was composed of a measuring module that measures the joint orientation of rock and a transport module that transmits the measurement data. The software was developed to analyze the orientation of the joint from the data obtained from the measuring module and is named Drone Joint Orientation Survey Measurement. The developed measuring equipment was well field capable if it could not be measured by the inspector, such as in areas where access was difficult, and was capable of effectively analyzing the lab test results for the orientation of the joint.

A Comparative Study on the Provision of Open Space by Local Government in Metropolitan Region Between Korea and Australia. - in the case of Seoul and Sydney Metropolitan Areas- (한국과 호주의 지방자치단체의 대도시지역에 있어 녹지공급에 관한 비교 연구 -서울과 시드니를 중심으로-)

  • The aim of this study is to compare open space planning between Australia and Korea by Local Governments Areas. Open space planning is carried out at the state and municipal level in Australia, but by metropolitan city government in Korea. This study is structured by reviewing the presemt phenomena of provision of open space in Sydney and Seoul, By measuring disparity in terms of open spaces by L. G. A. s an by comparing planning approaches between two cities, for example policy, government standards, government administration system in open space management. In this paper, the provision of parks in Sydney and Seoul are comparatively examined and geographically mapped, and multiple repression analysis is applied to measure the residuals from the line of equality. The results of this study show that, 1) During the last 1 dacade from '80 and '90. Sydney has increased the quantity of open spaces from ratio of 19.11ha/1000 to 22.33ha/1000 of parks, however Seoul decreased it by the ratio of 12.21$m^2$/person to 1012$m^2$ per person. 2) Sydney has more programs, such as Greenspace program, Metropolitan open space program etc. to increase and to distribute open spaces equally rather than Seoul which has less open spaces. 3) There exists patterned inequality in terms of open space provision in inner city and suburb between Sydney and Seoul. 4) Seoul requires more active polices to increase open spaces like Greenacre Program of New Jerrsey State, Double Open Space Pland of Tokyo or Green Space Program of Sydney.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the measuring tool that can grasp the relationship between body and pattern, the result can be directly digitalized and developed as the pattern as body form is. There are 6 measurements; 1) the width of front and rear neck 2) the slant degree of shoulder 3) the degree of protrusion of breasts and scapulae 4) the separation of front and rear board 5) space between body and clothes 6) vertical strand in the clothes Developed measuring tool is handy in un. in which points of body to be measured are small, and it has the capability of designing the high fitness for body. The measurer developed through this study is named as $\ulcorner$Somato-pattern Measurer$\lrcorner$, size paper is named$\ulcorner$Somato-pattern Paper$\lrcorner$and the pattern made by$\ulcorner$Somato-pattern Measurer$\lrcorner$is named$\ulcorner$Somato-pattern$\lrcorner$respectively by our team. The result of this study is thought to make a great contribution to solving the various problems which can be derived in the time of pattern design because of the difference of physical forms in the same size as well as the difference between the factor of size and that of form in body.
