디젤기관 배기 배출물에 있어서 매연 응집체 크기 및 농도의 시간적 계측에 관한 연구 (A Study on Temporal Measurement of Size and Concentration for Soot Aggregates among Exhaust Emissions in Diesel Engines)

  • An optical method to measure the size and number density of soot aggregates in diesel exhaust has been proposed in this study. Two laser beams in co-axial alignment transmit a soot loaded exhaust gas flow, and the transmittance at each wavelength is detected by a photo diode simultaneously. The volume equivalent diameter and number density of soot aggregates in the optical path can be theoretically given by the transmittance values measured at two wavelengths. A test conducted by a single cylinder, 4 cycle, small and DI diesel engine shows that the temporal variations of the size and number density of soot aggregates in the diesel exhaust can be measured by the proposed method at a transient mode operation. It is found that the volume equivalent diameter varied temporally from 70 to 110 nm during the period that high soot concentration is observed. One can also conclude that the optical length longer than 1 m in the dynamic range regarding this method is preferable for measuring soot concentration at the level of $1\;mg/m^3$.

  • The spray characteristics of dual orifice injector were investigated under two different fuels through measurement of SMD, number density and volume flux by using PDPA system. In this experiment, we found out that the droplet size and spray structure are strongly depend on fuel density and viscosity.

  • The effects of fuel density and fuel viscosity on spray characteristics were investigated under two different gas turbine fuels and various fuel supply pressure conditions through measurement of SMD, number density and volume flux by using PDPA system in dual orifice injector for gas turbine engines. In this study, we found out that the droplet size and spray structure are strongly depend on fuel density for dual orifice injector. The spray characteristics of high density fuel in dual orifice injector are similar with the characteristics of low density fuel in single orifice injector. The shear region between primary main fuel stream and secondary main fuel stream is examined in low density fuel condition but not exist in high density fuel condition, then this shear region is very important in quality of gas turbine spray. There are worth consideration for the effect of fuel density on spray characteristics in frontal device design to improve combustion efficiency.

  • The pupose of this study is to measure droplet size and velocity simultaneously for a transient diesel fuel spray in a quiescent chamber at atmospheric temperature and pressure. Generally, diesel combustion phenomena is mainly governed by characteristics of injection system and fuel spray. Therefore we need to clarify these characteristics for developing more economical diesel systems. In this study, correlation between droplet size and velocity was measured at downstream distance from nozzle. Governing parameters are pump speed and fuel quantity for the detailed nature in this transient diesel fuel spray. It is observed effect to the droplet size and velocity distribution. Velocity(peak, mean, rms), number density and droplet size were investigated simulaneously using PDA in the spray. Various results are presented to illustrate the effects of operation factors and correlation between the droplet diameter and velocity.

워터커튼에서 액적의 크기 분포와 광학 두께의 상관관계 분석 (Analysis on the Relations of Droplet Size Distribution and Optical Depth in Water Curtain)

  • 본 연구에서는 워터 커튼용 노즐(Water curtian nozzle)의 액적 크기 분포(droplet size distribution)에 따라서 복사열을 감쇄하기 위한 광학 두께(optical depth)를 분석하였다. 액적 크기 분포를 측정하기 위해서 HELOS/VARIO 물 입자 측정 장치를 사용하였으며, Deirmenjian의 수정된 감마 분포 함수(modified gamma distribution function)를 적용하여 분사 특성을 정량화 하였다. 본 연구에서 사용한 워터 커튼용 노즐은 분포 상수(distribution constant) ${\alpha}=1$, ${\gamma}=5.2$의 값으로 나타났으며, 액적의 밀도 수(number density)를 고려한 분포 하중(droplet loading)과 액적 크기 분포 변화에 따라서 광학 두께에 관한 일반화된 관계식을 제시하였다. 본 연구 결과는 워터 커튼용 노즐의 설계 조건을 분석하기 위한 유용한 연구 자료가 될 것으로 사료된다.

전력구 내 전자기파에 대한 작업 환경 측정 (The Measurement of Electromagnetic Wave in Power Cable Tunnel of Underground Utility Tunnel)

  • Electromagnetic measurements of the power cable tunnel were conducted from August 10 to 20, 2018, in the ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ city underground utility tunnel. During this period, the average temperature was $31.89^{\circ}C$ and the humidity was 67.56% in power cable tunnel. As a result of the electromagnetic measurement, the highest electric field was 25.3 V/m and the magnetic flux density was $42.6{\mu}T$. The average electric field was 18.56 V/m and the magnetic flux density was $29.32{\mu}T$ in the power cable tunnel. As a result of comparison with the electric equipment technical standard, the electric field in the power cable tunnel was 0.5% of the electric equipment standard and 35.2% of the magnetic flux density. It's similar value that electric field is about robotic vacuum(15.53 V/m), and magnetic flux density is similar value about capsule- type coffee machine ($23.07{\mu}T$). The number of cable lines and the size of the electromagnetic waves were not proportional to each other through comparison of cable lines in the power cable tunnel. It was confirmed that 154 kV, rather than 22.9 kV, could have a greater influence on occupational.

이중 분무의 중첩 구조에 미치는 분무 노즐의 영향 (Effects of spray nozzles on the structure of twin spray)

  • An experiment was carried out on the structure of twin spray from pressurize-swirl nozzles, in order to investigate the effect of different size of spray nozzles on the characteristics of the overlap of two single sprays, for example, mean diameter, number density, and spatial distribution of flow rate. Using image processing method, the distributions of size and velocity of droplets of a single spray and twin spray were measured and compared to investigate the overlapping effect of two identical sprays. Comparing experimental results from a twin-spray with those from two-single sprays shows that the flow rate distribution of the twin-spray was concentrated around the midst of the overlapping region of two sprays. In this region, Sauter mean diameter (SMD) did not change much in the twin spray from 6032 nozzles, but it was smaller by 10 micrometers in the twin-spray than two-single sprays from 60063 nozzles. In spite of large difference in Weber numbers of the colliding sprays between the 60063 and 6032 nozzles, the phenomena did not have a big change in the overlapping region of twin spray. This shows that in the collision between droplets from two single spray in the overlapping region to cause the disruption of droplets, the size distribution of spray droplets was also important as well as Weber number.

실시간 에어로졸 측정장비를 이용한 대기 중 입자상 물질의 무게 농도 분포의 추정 (Estimation of Mass Size Distribution of Atmospheric Aerosols Using Real-Time Aerosol Measuring Instruments)

  • SMPS, APS, ELPI는 실시간으로 대기 중 입자상 물질을 측정할 수 있는 장비로 많은 연구자들에 의해 사용되고 있다. 하지만 측정장비의 특성과 입자 분류 특성에 대한 충분한 이해가 없다면, 단순히 장비에 제공된 소프트웨어의 계산 결과를 여과 없이 그대로 사용할 수밖에 없다. 본 연구에서는 SMPS, APS, ELPI의 측정 메커니즘을 간단히 정리하였고, 전기적 이동도로 입자를 분리하는 SMPS와 공기역학적 거동을 이용하는 APS를 함께 사용하여 입자의 크기분포를 측정할 때 발생할 수 있는 문제점을 고찰하였다. 크기분포 측정결과를 이용해서 무게 농도를 환산하는 과정에서 대기 입자의 입경에 따른 밀도 정보를 제공하는 것이 매우 중요하다는 것을 보였다. 특히, APS 측정결과를 이용하는 경우 무게 농도의 추정 결과가 크게 영향을 받았다. ELPI의 경우 입자 밀도를 정확히 설정하지 않으면 입자의 수 농도에 오차가 크게 발생할 수 있으므로, 정확한 밀도를 설정하는 것이 중요했다. 반면에 ELPI로 대기 중입자상 물질의 무게 농도를 추정하는 경우 밀도가 실제와 다르게 설정되더라도 공기역학적 입경으로 나타내면 총 무게 농도는 수 농도에 비해 상대적으로 영향이 적었다. 향후 SMPS와 APS를 이용하여 시간에 따른 크기 분포 변화와 연간 수 농도와 무게 농도의 변화 추이를 측정하는 연구가 필요하다. 특히, 국내 대기 중입자의 입경에 따른 평균 밀도 혹은 유효 밀도를 측정하여 크기분포와 총 수 농도 혹은 PM2.5나 PM1에 해당하는 무게 농도를 정확하게 계산할 수 있는 데이터 환산 프로그램의 개발도 필요하다. 이와 같은 연구로 시간경과에 따라 변화하는 대기 입자의 오염원에 대한 영향을 규명하는 기초 자료를 얻을 수 있을 것이다.

Direct Analysis of Aerosol Particles by Atomic Emission and Mass Spectrometry

  • A method for the direct determination of elemental content in each of aerosol particles by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission (ICP-AES) or mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) is described. This method is based upon the introduction of diluted aerosol into an ICP and the measurement of either the flash emission intensities of an atomic spectral line or ion intensities. A pulse-height analyzer is used for the measurement of the distribution of the elemental content. In order to calibrate the measuring system, monodisperse aerosols are used. The potentials of the method are shown by demonstrating the copper emission signals from the aerosols generated at a small electric switch, a study of the relation between the decreasing rate of particle number density and particle size, and measurements of calcium contents in the individual biological cells.

전류밀도에 따른 SnAg 도금층의 특성 및 Cu 필라 솔더 범프의 단면 미세구조 측정 (Characterization of the SnAg Electrodeposits according to the Current Density and Cross-sectional Microstructure Analysis in the Cu Pillar Solder Bump)

  • We investigated the surface morphology and the change of Ag concentration for SnAg electrodeposits according to the current density using labmade and commercial plating solutions. The concentration of Ag in the SnAg electrodeposits decreased with increasing the current density. The Ag concentrations at the conditions of over $50mA/cm^2$ were below 3 wt% and the surface was relatively smooth. Cu pillar bump was fabricated by using SnAg electroplating, and it was reflowed at $240^{\circ}C$ for 90 sec. The cross-sectional microstructure was investigated by using EBSD measurement and it was found that the grain size of SnAg became smaller by increasing the number of reflow treatments.
