  • This paper considers the adaptive predictive control problem of a system characterized by a multiplexed measurements and multirate sampling mechanism. Plant outputs are measured in various sampling rates through a multiplexed measurement system where a single common instrument is shared by several controllers. In general, output measurement sampling rate is assumed to be slower that input update rate. An adaptive predictive control algorithm is developed for systems with multiplexed measurements.

  • An unknown input observer is proposed that can be used in wheelbase preview control of commercial vehicles. The preview and state information, required to calculate actuator force, are reconstructed from the measurement variables such as heave and pitch acceleration. Gain matrix of observer is optimally selected so that influence of system and measurement noises on the estimation error can be minimized. Estimated preview information requires low pass filtering to eliminate high frequency components resulting from differentiation of noisy output signals. Effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by numerical simulation of half car model.

  • Measurement and control system of weld pool is comprised of optical devices, image processor, personal computer and welding machine. Combinations of ND and Infrared filters were used to block the intense arc light and to get the clearer image of weld pool. Smoothing operation and conversion to binary data were performed to eliminate the noises and to decrease the processing time. A simple algorithm for feedback control was developed and weld pool size is controlled by welding current which is adjusted automatically with personal computer.

  • In this paper, the nano-grating was measured by Scanning Probe Microscopy (SPM) system using digital Proportion, Integration and Derivative (PID) control. Through this measurement, we could confirm the improvement of the vertical resolution compared with analog Proportion and Integration (PI) control method.

  • 본 논문에서는 휴대용 휘도측정시스템의 측정위치기반 휘도보정알고리즘을 제안한다. 측정거리와 측정각도에 따라 휘도 값은 변화하며, 측정거리와 측정각도를 고려한 알고리즘을 적용하여 기존에 개발된 영상기반 휘도측정시스템의 오차를 개선한다. 카메라 영상기반의 휘도 정보를 정확하게 획득하는 면측정방법을 제안하기 위해서 점휘도계로 측정대상물과의 측정각도에 따른 휘도 값의 변화를 측정한다. 측정거리, 측정각도와 휘도 값 간의 연관성을 수식으로 나타내었고, 측정위치를 고려한 알고리즘을 제안한다. 실험용 간판을 대상으로 점휘도계와 제안한 휘도측정시스템을 비교 평가 실험하고 제안한 휘도측정시스템의 성능을 검증하였다.

  • The directivity of the sound pressure increases the sensitivity of the incoming sound from specific directions. The directivity measurement of the sound pressure is usually done in an anechoic room using a steping motor. In this paper a replaceable anechoic chamber was designed for the acoustic directivity pattern measurement. Electrical equipments were interfaced with a PC for experiment automatic control. Some comparative results are shown in the result.

A number of visual or optical technologies have been successfully applied to measure three dimensional surfaces.   • The INS/GPS integration system is designed by employing an adaptive filter that can estimate the measurement noise variance using the residual of the filter. To verify the efficiency of the proposed loosely-coupled INS/GPS integration system, simulation is performed by assuming that GPS information has large position errors. Simulation results show that the proposed integration system with the adaptive filter is more effective in estimating the position and attitude errors than those with the Extended Kalman Filter.

  • A sensor system which can measure the transmittance of ITO(Indium Tin Oxide) layed glass is proposed. The sensor system includes a single wavelength laser beam source, photo diodes and electronic circuit processing sensor signal. The wavelength of laser is 543.5 m, this is most sensitive wavelength to photopic and scotopic vision. We applied the sensor to measure transmittance of ITO layer on general manufacturing environment and verified the effectiveness of sensor through experimental measurement.

  • A robust controller to attenuate the various disturbances of tandem cold mills (TCM) is synthesized by measurement-feedback $H_{\infty}$ control techniques which can reflect the input direction of disturbances and the knowledge of entry thickness variation (disturbance) is synthesized by discrete-time measurement-feedback $H_{\infty}$ control theory. It is demonstrated that the $H_{\infty}$ preview control gain can be easily obtained by the seperation principle of the control and estimation problems in $H_{\infty}$ control. Finally the effectiveness of the proposed control method for TCM is evaluated by the computer simulation and compared to the other control methods which have been previously studied.
