  • This paper develops a stability analysis and controller synthesis methodology for a continuous-time affine Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems with parametric uncertainties. Affine T-S fuzzy system can be an advantage because it may be able to approximate nonlinear functions to high accuracy with fewer rules than the homogeneous T-S fuzzy systems with linear consequents only. The analysis is based on Lyapunov functions that are continuous and piecewise quadratic. The search for a piecewise quadratic Lyapunov function can be represented in terms of bilinear matrix inequalities (BMIs). A simulation example is given to illustrate the application of the proposed method.

  • The introduction of the fast Fourier transform(FFT),an efficient computational algorithm for the discrete Fourier transform(DFT) by Cooley and Tukey(1965), has brought to the limelight various other discrete transforms. Some of the analog functions from which these transforms have been derived date back to the early 1920's, for example, Walsh functions (Walsh, 1923) and Hadamard Transform(Enomoto et al, 1965). Fast algorithms developed for the forward transform are equally applicable, exept for minor changes, to the inverse transform. In this paper, we present a simple pipelined Hadamard matrix(HM) which is used to develop a fast algorithm for the Hadamard Processor (HP). The Fast Hadamard Transform(FHT) can be derived using matrix partitioning techniques. The HP system is incorporated through a modular design which permits tailoring to meet a wide range of video data link applications. Emphasis has been placed on a low cost, a low power design suitable for airbone system and video codec.

A method for static and dynamic analyses of stiffened multi-bay coupled shear walls

  • In this study an approximate method based on the continuum approach and transfer matrix method for static and dynamic analyses of stiffened multi-bay coupled shear walls is presented. In this method the whole structure is idealized as a sandwich beam. Initially the differential equation of this equivalent sandwich beam is written then shape functions for each storey is obtained by the solution of differential equations. By using boundary conditions and storey transfer matrices which are obtained by these shape functions, system modes and periods can be calculated. Reliability of the study is shown with a few examples. A computer program has been developed in MATLAB and numerical samples have been solved for demonstration of the reliability of this method. The results of the samples show the agreement between the present method and the other methods given in literature.

Wind velocity simulation of spatial three-dimensional fields based on autoregressive model

  • This paper adopts autoregressive (AR) model to simulate the wind velocity of spatial three-dimensional fields in accordance with the time and space dependent characteristics of the 3-D fields. Based on the built MATLAB programming, this paper discusses in detail the issues of the AR model deduced by matrix form in the simulation and proposes the corresponding solving methods: the over-relaxation iteration to solve the large sparse matrix equations produced by large number of degrees of freedom of structures; the improved Gauss formula to calculate the numerical integral equations which integral functions contain oscillating functions; the mixed congruence and central limit theorem of Lindberg-Levy to generate random numbers. This paper also develops a method of ascertaining the rank of the AR model. The numerical examples show that all those methods are stable and reliable, which can be used to simulate the wind velocity of all large span structures in civil engineering.

  • Iteration functions $K_m(z)$ and $U_m(z)$, $m{\geq}2$are defined recursively using the determinant of a matrix. We show that the fixed-iterations of $K_m(z)$ and $U_m(z)$ converge to a simple zero with order of convergence m and give closed form expansions of $K_m(z)$ and $U_m(z)$: To show the convergence, we derive a recursion formula for $L_m$ and then apply the idea of Ford or Pomentale. We also find a Toeplitz matrix whose determinant is $L_m(z)/(f^{\prime})^m$, and then we adapt the well-known results of Gerlach and Kalantari et.al. to give closed form expansions.

  • This paper concerns controller design for the Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy systems. The design method proposed in this paper is derived in the framework of the optimal control theory utilizing the piecewise quadratic optimal value functions. The major part of the proposed design procedure consists of solving linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Since LMIs can be solved efficiently within a given tolerance by the recently developed interior point methods, the design procedure of this paper is useful in practice. A design example is given to illustrate the applicability of the proposed method.

  • 일반적인 마이크로스트립 구조의 해석을 위해 closed-form 그린함수를 이용한 공간영역 모멘트법을 사용하는 경우, 모멘트 행렬의 대각 및 비대각 요소들을 계산하기에 보다 효율적인 기법을 제안하고자 한다. 본 논문에서 제안된 기법의 타당성 확인을 위해 동축선 급전된 마이크로스트립 안테나를 해석한 결과를 기존 논문들의 결과와 비교 제시하였다.

Complexity based Sensing Strategy for Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio Networks

  • Spectrum sensing has attracted much attention due to its significant contribution to idle spectrum detection in Cognitive Radio Networks. However, specialized discussion is on complexity-based sensing strategy for spectrum sensing seldom considered. Motivated by this, this paper is devoted to complexity-based sensing strategy for spectrum sensing. Firstly, three efficiency functions are defined to estimate sensing efficiency of a spectrum scheme. Then a novel sensing strategy is proposed given sensing performance and computational complexity. After that, the proposed sensing strategy is extended to energy detector, Cyclostationary feature detector, covariance matrix detector and cooperative spectrum detector. The proposed sensing strategy provides a novel insight into sensing performance estimation for its consideration of both sensing capacity and sensing complexity. Simulations analyze three efficiency functions and optimal sensing strategy of energy detector, Cyclostationary feature detector and covariance matrix detector.

백두대간 속리산 권역 및 한남금북정맥 보은군 권역에 대한 생태계 기능 산정 매트릭스 방법의 적용 (Ecosystem Service Matrix applying to Baekdu-daegan Songnisan and Hannamgeumbukjeongmaek Boeun-gun area)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the applicability of Ecosystem Service Matrix method in Songnisan and Hannamgeumbukjeongmaek Boeun-gun area. The assessment was carried out with 25 land cover types by 7 ecosystem values. The research area was divided by 30m x 30m cell unit and the each cell value was classified into 5 grades. The total number of cell under the investigation was 433,910 units in Songnisan and 84,975 in Boeun-gun. Class I and II area were widely spread and Class V area is narrowly distributed inside of Class III area in Songnisan. I area, II area and separately managed zone belong to Ecological Zoning map and Environmental Conservation Value Assessment Map(Environment + Ecology) were assessed Class I in Ecosystem service matrix. In conclusion, Ecosystem Service Matrix assessment based on land cover map is a rapid assessment methodology which reflecting ecosystem functions in a larger area. If it is supported with more ecosystem functions, the more precise nature value can be calculated.

  • The extracellular matrix is a critical component of every human tissue. ECM not only functions as a structural component but also regulates a variety of cellular processes such as cell migration, differentiation, proliferation, and cell death. In addition, current studies suggest that ECM is critical for the pathophysiology of various human diseases. ECM is composed of diverse components including several proteins and polysaccharide chains such as chondroitin sulfate, heparan sulfate, and hyaluronic acid. Each component of ECM exerts its own functions in cellular and pathophysiological processes. One of the interesting recent findings is that ECM is involved in inflammatory responses in various human tissues. In this review, we summarized the known functions of ECM in neuroinflammation after acute injury and chronic inflammatory diseases of the central nerve systems.
