  • The Nine Chapters on the Mathematical Art has dominated the history of Chinese mathematics. It served as a textbook not only in China but also in the neighbouring countries and regions. The book is anonymous like many Chinese classics. The Nine Chapters contains 246 problems and their solutions, some of which date back to before the Qin Dynasty $(221\sim207\;B.C)$ and it seems to have been written by various writers over many generations. In this paper, we will investigate the structure of the Nine Chapters from the view points of ancient social environments which entail eventually mathematics in the Nine Chapters.

  • The half-inverse spectral problem for an impulsive Sturm-Liouville operator consists in reconstruction of this operator from its spectrum and half of the potential. In this study, the spectrum of the impulsive Sturm-Liouville problem is given and by using the Hochstadt and Lieberman's method we show that if $q(x)$ is prescribed on (0, ${\frac{\pi}{2}}$), then only one spectrum is sufficient to determine $q(x)$ on the interval (0, ${\pi}$) for this problem.

  • In this paper, the explicit determinants of the circulant and negacyclic matrix involving Tetranacci sequence $M_n$ and Companion-Tetranacci sequence $K_n$ are expressed by using only Tetranacci sequence $M_n$ and Companion-Tetranacci sequence $K_n$. Also euclidean norms and spectral norms of circulant and negacyclic matrices have been obtained.

  • In this paper, we introduce slant Riemannian submersions from cosymplectic manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds. We obtain some results on slant Riemannian submersions of a cosymplectic manifold. We also give examples and inequalities between the scalar curvature and squared mean curvature of fibres of such slant submersions in the cases where the characteristic vector field is vertical or horizontal.

  • In this paper, the new optimal perturbation iteration method has been applied to solve the generalized regularized long wave equation. Comparing the new analytic approximate solutions with the known exact solutions reveals that the proposed technique is extremely accurate and effective in solving nonlinear wave equations. We also show that, unlike many other methods in literature, this method converges rapidly to exact solutions at lower order of approximations.

  • 'The nine chapters on the mathematical art' has dominated the history of Chinese mathematics. It contains 246 problems and their solutions, which fall into nine categories that are firmly based on practical needs. But it has been greatly by improved by the commentary given Liu Hui and it was transformed from arithmetic text to mathematics. The improved book served as important textbook in China but also the East Asian countries for the past 2000 years. Also It is comparable in significance to Euclid's Elements in the West. In the middle of 19th century, Chosun mathematicians Nam Byung Gil(南秉吉) and Lee Sang Hyuk(李尙爀) studied mathematical structures developed in Song(宋) and Yuan(元) eras on top of their early on 'The nine chapters' and 'ShuLiJingYun(數理精蘊)'. Their studies gave rise to a momentum for a prominent development of Choson mathematics in the century. Nam Byung Gil is also commentator on 'The Nine Chapters'. His commentary is 'GuJangSulHae(九章術解)'. This book provides figures and explanations of how the algorithms work. These are very helpful for prospective elementary teachers. We try to plan programs of elementary teacher education on the basis of 'The Nine Chapters' and 'GuJangSulHae'.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an art-based integration program for the Korean schools in the United States to improve students' academic performance and nurture the spirit of the young and can enable students taking art classes to better understand social and cultural phenomena influencing their lives. This study integrates with six other subjects that are language art, math, religion, social studies, and Korean history. Art classes are considered the main vehicle for integrating the entire program using a thematic approach. The methodology of this study is based on the literature research and the information of the place, the Korean School of Columbus, is that the school is one of 124 Korean Schools in the Mid-western states and is located in the northern part of Columbus, Ohio. In this study, I developed an art-based integration program to be connected well with other subjects to help students to make sense of them in the complex societies and to help them to obtain the five goals that are included: First, students will understand about a Korean history and culture through making a kite; Second, they will know that a kite can be used as ways of communication with people and God; Third, they will also know how different types of kites respond to the airflow of the wind; Fourth, they will understand an enjoyable and different way of learning about aspects of Fine art, Bible, Language art, Mathematics, Science, History, and Social studies; Lastly, they will learn how important to cooperate with each other.
