  • Tuned mass damper is widely used in many applications of industry. The main advantage of tuned mass damper is that it can increase the damping ratio of system and reduce the vibration amplitude. Meanwhile, the natural frequency of system will be divided by two peaks, and the peak speeds are closely related to the mass and the stiffness of auxiliary mass system added. In addition, the damping ratio will also affect the peak frequency of the dynamic response. In the present research, the nonlinear mechanical characteristics of rubber is investigated and put into use, since it is usually manufactured as the spring element of tuned mass damper. By the sense of the nonlinear stiffness as well as the damping ratio which can be changed by preload applied on, the shape memory alloy is proposed to control the auxiliary mass system by self-optimizing. Supported by the experiment data of rubber, the 1 DOF theoretical model and finite element model based on computer simulation are implemented to perform the feasibility of the proposed semi-active tuned mass damper working on the drive shaft.

  • To accomplish a high-speed test on low-speed automatic test equipment (ATE), a new instruction-based fully programmable memory built-in self-test (BIST) is proposed. The proposed memory BIST generates a highspeed internal clock signal by multiplying an external low-speed clock signal from an ATE by a clock multiplier embedded in a DRAM. For maximum programmability and small area overhead, the proposed memory BIST stores the unique sets of instructions and corresponding test sequences that are implicit within the test algorithms that it receives from an external ATE. The proposed memory BIST is managed by an external ATE on-the-fly to perform complicated and hard-to-implement functions, such as loop operations and refresh-interrupts. Therefore, the proposed memory BIST has a simple hardware structure compared to conventional memory BIST schemes. The proposed memory BIST is a practical test solution for reducing the overall test cost for the mass production of commodity DDRx SDRAMs.

  • Purpose : This study was conducted to determine the effects of a brain spinning program on cognitive function, body composition, health related fitness and physical self-efficacy of children and adolescents. Methods : This study, 34 children and adolescents were selected and divided into two groups : the exercise group (n=16), which received a brain spinning program and the control group (n=16), which did not receive any exercise program. The program was conducted for 30 minutes three times a week for 4 weeks, and the cognitive function, body composition, health related fitness and physical self-efficacy were measured both before and after the program. Results : The exercise group, which received a brain spinning program showed a significant increase in short-term memory (p<.05) and working memory (p<.01), and muscle mass increased significantly only in the exercise group (p<.05). In addition, left grip strength increased in the exercise group (p<.01), and the maximum oxygen intake decreased significantly only in the control group (p<.05), and Sit-forward bend increased significantly only in the exercise group (p<.01). Physical self-efficacy significantly increased only in the exercise group (p<.05). Conclusion : In summary, short-term memory, cognitive efficiency, working memory, muscle mass, left grip strength, maximum oxygen intake, and left forward bending in children and adolescents significantly increased after the 4-week brain spinning program. However, the control group that was not provided with the 4-week brain spinning program showed a significant increase in body weight and a significant decrease in maximum oxygen intake. In conclusion, the 4-week brain spinning program has positive effects on short-term memory, cognitive function, muscle mass, muscle strength, cardiorespiratory endurance, flexibility, and physical self-efficacy.

  • The Spar platform with deep draft is characterized as effective structure in extreme wave condition, which has larger natural period than that of waves in sea. In this paper, the time simulation of motion responses of Spar with catenary mooring line is presented in irregular waves. The memory effect is modeled by added mass at infinite frequency and convolution integrals in terms of wave damping coefficients. The added mass, wave damping coefficients and wave exciting forces are obtained from three-dimensional panel method in the frequency domain. The motion equations are consisted of forces for inetia, memory effect, hydrostatic restoring, wave exciting and mooring line. The forces of mooring line are modeled as quasi-static catenary cable.

  • This paper compares the performance of Mass Memory Unit(MMU) between Science and Technology Satellite 1(STSAT-1) and STSAT-2 from developed Proto Flight Model(PFM) for Miniaturization, lightweight and low power consumption. MMU receives the payload data at 200Kbps and transmits them to XTX at 10Mbps in the STSAT-2. The performance of PFM MMU in the Functional and space environments test satisfies the requirements of STSAT-2.

  • This paper describes the design and test results of engineering qualification model(EQM) of mass memory unit(MMU) for STSAT-3. The MMU for STSAT-3 having 32Gb mass memory capacity is capable of receiving and transmitting the mission data from MIRIS(Multi-purpose IR Imaging System) and COMIS(Compact Imaging Spectrometer) at 100Mbps and 10Mbps. The performance of EQM MMU was verified by the tests of data receiving from two payloads and data transmission to the data receiving system. Moreover, the vibration and thermal vacuum test was performed to verify the launch vehicle and space environments.

  • The flash memory which is exploited on hand-held devices such as smart phones is a non-volatile storage and has the benefit that it can store mass data at a small sized chip. To process queries on the mass data stored in the flash memory, the index scheme should be exploited. However, since the write operation of the flash memory is slower than the read operation and the overwrite is not supported, it is required to reevaluate the performance of the index and find out the drawbacks. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of a space division typed index scheme on the flash memory. To do this, we implement the fixed grid file and measure the average speeds of the query and update processing on a various condition and compare the value of the flash memory with that of the magnetic disk.

The devices were fabricated by retrograde twin well CMOS processes with $0.35{\mu}m$ Nonvolatile semiconductor memory devices with reoxidized nitrided oxide(RONO) gate dielectric were fabricated, and nitrogen distribution and bonding species which contributing memory characteristics were analyzed. Also, memory characteristics of devices according to anneal temperatures were investigated. The devices were fabricated by $0.35{\mu}m$ retrograde twin well CMOS processes. The processes could be simple by in-situ process of nitridation anneal and reoxidation. The nitrogen distribution and bonding state of gate dielectric were investigated by Dynamic Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry(D-SIMS), Time-of-Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry(ToF-SIMS), and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy(XPS). Nitrogen concentrations are proportional to nitridation anneal temperatures and the more time was required to form the same reoxidized layer thickness. ToF-SIMS results show that SiON species are detected at the initial oxide interface and $Si_{2}NO$ species near the new $Si-SiO_{2}$ interface that formed after reoxidation. As the anneal temperatures increased, the device showed worse retention and degradation properties. These could be said that nitrogen concentration near initial interface is limited to a certain quantity, so excess nitrogen are redistributed near the $Si-SiO_{2}$ interface and contributed to electron trap generation.
