  • In modern society, various digital communication equipments are being used due to the influence of the 4th industrial revolution, and accordingly, interest in removing noise generated in the data transmission process is increasing. In this paper, we propose a filtering algorithm to remove AWGN generated during digital image transmission. The proposed algorithm removes noise based on mask matching to preserve information such as the boundary of an image, and uses pixel values with similar patterns according to the pattern of the input pixel value and the surrounding pixels for output calculation. To evaluate the proposed algorithm, we simulated with existing AWGN removal algorithms, and analyzed using enlarged image and PSNR comparison. The proposed algorithm has superior AWGN removal performance compared to the existing method, and is particularly effective in images with strong noise intensity of AWGN.

  • A 512-bit Task Programmable ROM has been designed and fabricated using PMOS technology. The content of the memory was written through the gate pattern during the fabrication process, and was checked by displaying the output of the chip on an oscilloscope with 512(32$\times$16) matrix points. The operation of the chip was surcessful with operating voltage from -6V to -l2V, The power consumption and propagation delay time have been measured to be 3mW and 13 $\mu$sec, respectively at -6 Volt. The power consunption increased to 27mW and propagation delay time decreased to 3$\mu$sec at -12V. The output of the chip was capable of driving the input of a TTL gate directly and retained a high impedence state when the chip solect function disabled the output.

  • In this paper, we propose the method to improving touch recognition using edge mask on a touched object at vision-based touchscreen. Because vision-based touchscreen recognizes touch using threshold simply, noise occur in fist or wrist in case of touch directly with hand, correct touch recognition was difficult. However, in this paper, we execute morphology and extract surrounding mask in object that approximate to touchscreen, use change of contrast for the mask. When we touch screen to use these dynamic information, prevent noise. The goal of this paper is when hand was touched on screen it can recognize to touch.

  • As the minimum feature size of a semiconductor chip gets smaller, the inevitable distortion of patterned image by optical lithography becomes the limiting factor in the mass production of VLSI. The optical proximity correction (OPC), which corrects pattern distortion that originates from the resolution limit of optical lithography, is becoming indispensable technology. In this paper, we describe a program that corrects optical proximity effect and thus finds the optimum mask pattern with a Monte-Carlo method. The program was applied to real memory cell patterns to produce mask patterns that generate image patterns closer to object images than original mask patterns, and increase of process margin is expected, as well.

  • This study analyzes the facial data required for sheet design in order to pursue the facial compatibility of disposable sheets used in facial mask products that are increasing in popularity as self-care methods. The subjects of the study were 23 facial measurements of 1,001 women in their 20s to 60s from Size Korea's 6th 3D data. Through factor analysis, sheet-related facial measurements were collected into six factors included in the vertical length of each part of the face: length of face surface from the ear to each part of the face, width of eyes, nose, lips, length of nose, vertical length of lower face, width of the head and width of chin. Three sheet face types were classified using six factor scores as variables, and the characteristics of each type differed according to age group. As a result of the discriminant analysis to identify the dimension items that classify the three cluster types, 12 contributing items were extracted out of 23 items. This study provides useful information and data for further studies of products requiring facial fitness.

  • In this paper, worldwide standards and regulations on in-band/out-of-band emission characteristics of DTV broadcasting equipments are reviewed, and emission mask requirements of several equipment types are analyzed. Out-of-band emission mask draft suitable for DTV repeater is proposed and its usefulness is evaluated and verified in the experiments. Using the proposed standard, small-sized and cost effective DTV repeater can be implemented to broaden DTV broadcasting coverage for digital switchover.

  • A method that can decide the existence and the severeness of flaws in ceramic materials through the use of non-destructive testing by image processing techniques, is proposed in this paper. The edges of the acquired image are first extracted using Sobel mask and the regions of the image are clustered using another mask after that. Histogram stretching is applied to each of the regions to enhance the image region-wise and objects are extracted by an edge following algorithm. Morphological information is incorporated to remove noise and detect flawed regions. The proposed method can detect flaws in the acquired images and the experimental results also supports that.

  • This paper presents a phase-only modulation scheme for a three-dimensional (3-D) image matching system to improve optical efficiency of the system. The 3-D image matching system is based on the two mask heterodyne scanning. A hologram of the 3-D reference object is first created and then the phase of the hologram is extracted. The phase of the hologram is represented as one mask with the other mask being a plane wave. The superposition of each beam modulated by the two masks generated a scanning beam pattern. This beam pattern scans the 3-D target object to be recognized. The output of the scanning system gives out the correlation of the phase-only hologram of the reference object and the complex hologram of the target object. Since a hologram contains 3-D information of an object as a form of fringe pattern, the correlation of holograms matches whole 3-D aspect of the objects. Computer simulations are performed with additive gaussian noise and without noise for the complex hologram modulation scheme and the phase-only hologram modulation scheme. The computer simulation results show that the phase-only hologram modulation scheme improves the optical efficiency. Thus the system with the phase-only hologram modulation scheme is more robust than the system with the complex hologram modulation scheme.

  • A PSU (passenger service unit) is mounted on passenger seats in a cabin on an aircraft and consists of a crew call lamp, a reading lights, an information display lamp, an emergency oxygen generator, and an emergency oxygen mask. It is a safety device for providing convenience to passengers and providing oxygen to passengers in an emergency. This paper is a study on emergency oxygen supply systems and light systems of aircraft PSUs and a control device was developed to operate the system by analyzing the B767-300 aircraft's PSU circuit diagram. And the temperature generated by the B777-200ER aircraft's emergency oxygen generator was also measured by operating it directly. Through this, precautions for explaining the operation of an oxygen mask in an emergency were described and improvements were presented. Data acquired in these research processes can be used in the future to develop aircraft PSU (passenger service unit) and emergency oxygen generators.

  • Recently, the market for masks has been growing due to air pollution, sun protection, pollen allergies and other reasons. In addition, the demand for masks has increased dramatically due to the new coronavirus from 2020, and masks are still one of the necessities of life. Although the reliance on masks is increasing, there are many inconveniences associated with wearing masks for long periods of time. At the same time, technology is developing rapidly, and the demand for smart wearable devices is increasing. Therefore, at the moment when the fourth industrial revolution is underway, combining people's common necessities with IoT technology to bring new convenient experiences to people is an important direction for future technology development and product development. In this study, smart masks were designed and implemented using IoT(Internet of Things) technology. The mask uses a microcomputer Adafruit circuit playground express, using the microcomputer's LED, optical sensors, can be in the dark place light, and through the temperature sensor real-time grasp of body temperature changes. If the body temperature rises above normal, the LED will turn "on" and activate the voice sensor to warn yourself and others around you.
