  • In the automobile and machine industry, Forming type conveyer system have problems in that hinge belt plate are stretched, produce a noise and get abrasion. they make the machine get out of order. we make hinge belt thicker for reducing the trouble. Thick hinge belt was stronger. But it was heavier. And it was hard to come up with buyer's expectations because the mold which makes the hinge belt have limit of strength, life cycle and size. So, we developed the machine welded each part of hinge belt plate.

  • This paper deals with a case study of workload analysis of an operator in an automatic line for machining the race of ball bearing. Eleven machines and three hoppers are installed in the line which is operated by an operator. The elements of operation are separated into machine controlled elements, operator controlled elements and machine/operator controlled elements. In order to analyze the system, time and motion studies are used for gathering input data for the simulation model. The first objective of this study is to evaluate whether the workload of operator is reasonable or not. The second objective is to increase throughput by reducing tact time and the last one is to increase frequencies of inspection by reducing interval. Thus we suggest some ideas for improvement, and as a result, the throughput is improved about 9%. In spite of the increasing of throughput, the allowance of operator is also increased about 4%.

  • In this paper, We have defined an effectual way to adapt the virtual machine into an embedded system and mobile device platform using retargetable technology. For this technology, We classified platform dependent character, and platform independent character, then designed, and implemented the adapter by adopting platform dependent character to retargetable technology, which allows to express in a formal method.

  • Due to aging of the imported seismic monitoring system of Uljin 1&2 units it is difficult for this system to provide enough functions needed for the security of seismic safety and the evaluation of the earthquake data from the seismic instrumentation. For this reason, it is necessary to replace the seismic monitoring system of Uljin 1&2 units with an upgraded system with corresponding softwars. With operation of this system which incorporates the man-machine interface technology, the operators in nuclear power plant can rapidly and correctly determine the exceedance of Operating Basis Earthquake.

State-Based Behavior Modeling in Software and Systems Engineering

  • The design of complex man-made systems mostly involves a conceptual modeling phase; therefore, it is important to ensure an appropriate analysis method for these models. A key concept for such analysis is the development of a diagramming technique (e.g., UML) because diagrams can describe entities and processes and emphasize important aspects of the systems being described. The analysis also includes an examination of ontological concepts such as states and events, which are used as a basis for the modeling process. Studying fundamental concepts allows us to understand more deeply the relationship between these concepts and modeling frameworks. In this paper, we critically analyze the classic definition of a state utilizing the Thinging machine (TM) model. States in state machine diagrams are considered the appropriate basis for modeling system behavioral aspects. Despite its wide application in hardware design, the integration of a state machine model into a software system's modeling requirements increased the difficulty of graphical representation (e.g., integration between structural and behavioral diagrams). To understand such a problem, in this paper, we project (create an equivalent representation of) states in TM machines. As a case study, we re-modeled a state machine of an assembly line system in a TM. Additionally, we added possible triggers (transitions) of the given states to the TM representation. The outcome is a complicated picture of assembly line behavior. Therefore, as an alternative solution, we re-modeled the assembly line based solely on the TM. This new model presents a clear contrast between state-based modeling of assembly line behavior and the TM approach. The TM modeling seems more systematic than its counterpart, the state machine, and its notions are well defined. In a TM, states are just compound events. A model of a more complex system than the one in the assembly line has strengthened such a conclusion.

  • Automatic nut sorting machine used to calculate the size of inserted nut and detect the black spot defection is introduced in this paper. Because most of farm products are imported from the underdeveloped countries, domestic farm products have no place to be sold in market. To overcome this critical situation, lowering the productivity cost is strongly demanded to compete with foreign corps. Imaged processed nut sorting algorithm is developed to the automatic nut sorting machine to remove the sorting time which takes lots of man power. This system is composed of mainly two parts, mechanical parts and vision system. The purpose of mechanical part is supplying the nuts automatically to make computer system capture the images of objects. Simplified mechanical system was assembled followed by 3D simulation by Pro/E design for the adaptive cost effects. Several image processing algorithms are designed to detect the spot defects and calculate the size of nuts. Test algorithm shows good results to the designed automatic nut sorting system.

  • This paper proposes a dynamic recursive model with the effect analysis of machine state considering human factor(human skillfulness) In a single lot man-machine production system. This model obtained using Kalman Filtering Algorithm Is based on input state, output state, machine state. For sensitivity analysis, this model constructed is examined according to the impact of human skillfulness with computer simulation. The model studied in this paper has a great advance from the point of view a combination of three factors( human engineering, dynamic control theory, quality control ) and can also be extended in several applications.

  • High-speed machining is one of the most effective technologies to improve productivity. Because of the high speed and high feed rate, high-speed machining can give great advantages for the machining of dies and molds. High speed machine tool makers try to find best machining condition with the one that they have built. Machine builders need to develop test specimen since it helps finding characteristics o( machine tools when the machining properties of the specimen are analyzed. This paper develops test specimen to identify features of the main spindle, the feeding device, and the frame of a machine tool.

  • We developed a compact high-precision slot-die coating machine for thin-film deposition on a flexible substrate. For smooth and precise coating, air-bearing and linear motor system were employed to minimize velocity ripple. The gap control mechanism is specially designed to have repeatability of gap between nozzle and substrate under 1 ${\mu}m$. Due to extremely precise gap control, the machine can coat thin-films down to 50 nm with $200mm{\times}100mm$ size. A thin film of Ag nano-particle ink is coated for demonstration.
