  • In Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-Water) has seen four problems rising in four aspects of property management of approximately 1,300 buildings scattered through put to country. To solve these, ground data for repair and replacement works to be conducted for prevention will be prepared and building maintenance system (hereinafter referred to as PBMS) intended to record related repair and replacement work histories and calculate LCC of the related these items will be developed. PBMS, a web-based system, will be developed for users' convenience and data monitoring in real time. To sum up, PBMS are expected to maximize efficiency in four aspects including the establishment of repair and replacement work plans for prevention, history management, DB for predicting future work to be occurred and enable the determination of priorities by being developing into facility condition assessment systems through the results of analysis of repair and replacement histories and LCC.

  • The RPN provides information which includes the risk level and the priority order of maintenance tasks for components. However, if there is no sufficient historical failure data, the historical failure data from other sources can be applied to the target system. And if we use historical data from other sources without any process, there will be concomitant problems according to a discord of each system characteristic, a difference between the present and the date of failure data, etc. In this paper, a new methodology is proposed to model the failure rate as a fuzzy function to resolve these problems. Taking advantage of this result, the RPN can be calculated by using the fuzzy operation. The proposed method is applied to the substation system.

  • This paper aims to analyze the priority of elements in building management system surveying owners living in Small-scale Apartment, and to suggest basic data for establishing effective management alternatives. To achieve the goal, this paper extracted the elements from a guideline supported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in Korea, and tried to analyze their priority. The result as follows. First, the analysis of the first level suggested that people give priority to facility management, moving management, security management and administrative for management. Second, on the analysis of the second level, settlement of budget was the most important for the administrative, cleaning for facility management, parking management for security management and advertisement of the administrative for moving management. By suggesting the result, this paper concludes that it would be very important to establish a regional management corporation to manage the Small-scale Apartment.

  • The reliability of a power system has close relationship with the maintenance of the distribution systems. This paper presents the method of the maintenance planning of the distribution systems by minimizing the interruption cost. The interruption cost for the equipment failures is formulated using time varying failure rate and minimized by optimization of the object function. The proposed method provides the priority list for the investment of the maintenance subject to the limited investment budget by the economic analysis. In order to test the proposed method, the modified distribution system of a rural area is introduced for the testing system. Test results show that the proposed method is good enough by evaluating the improvement of the reliability of the power system.

  • During drought, there have been a number of conflicts because of the limited and insufficient water to allocate for the numerous water users. To solve the problems, the decision on the priority of water use should be made with social rationality A rational and systematic procedure needs to be implemented in order to decide the priority of water use. First, a criteria level is made of the main and detailed drought impacts which come from the economic, environmental, and social aspects. Four alternatives are then identified for priority of water use. Second, survey to the two group(professional, residents) has been done with using pair wise comparisons. Finally, the relative weights and the priority of alternatives are determined by means of the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) which is one of the Multi-Attributed Decision Method(MADM). By using AHP, it has been concluded that the water allocation during drought should be accomplished in order of domestic, irrigation, industrial, and river maintenance water. If the AHP method were improved for inconsistency which may be generated with survey analysis, a number of applications will be used for the solutions of problem in water resources systems.

  • This study aims to develop a curriculum for nurturing experts who perform agricultural safety and health management tasks. This study was conducted in three stages. First, job definitions and job models of agricultural safety and health managers were derived through job analysis using the DACUM technique. Second, job demand analysis was conducted by conducting a survey on the difficulty, importance, and frequency of each task. Third, IPA analysis was performed as the first priority tasks of job demand analysis to present the courses and subjects of the training course for safety and health managers in agricultural work. The job of the agricultural safety and health manager was defined as "to conduct guidance and advice on safety and health education, risk factors, and evaluation and management of harmful factors to protect farmers' professional health and safety." The job model consisted of 4 tasks, 31 core tasks, and 67 detailed tasks. As a result of job demand analysis, there were 39 tasks in the 1st priority, 22 in the 2nd priority, and 6 in the 3rd priority. As a result of the IPA analysis, there were 13 'capacity development focused areas', 4 'capacity development effort areas', 11 'low priority areas', and 3 'continuous maintenance areas'.

  • Naval command and control system are very important for operation and their failures can be fatal for warfare. To prepare for these failures, we use feature selection method which is one of the data mining techniques. First, we analyzes failure data set of Navy from 2016 to 2018. And then We derive attributes that are associated with failure and to predict failure using feature selection method. We propose a method for prioritizing maintenance using the degree of association of attributes. This improves the efficiency and economics of command and control system maintenance.

  • This study analyzes the technical level and shows the priority technology for suspension bridges that play an iconic role as the country's landmark and contain an economic value. Analysis results show the technical level of suspension bridge is 82 percent compared to developed countries. In detail, the technical levels of 'materials', 'planning and design', and 'construction and maintenance' are 80.2 %, 81.7%, and 83.7% respectively. This study analyzes economic, social, technical importances and presents 'high-performance packaging material' as a priority technology.

  • In this paper, various replacement policies for the general failure model are considered. There are two types of failure in the general failure model. One is Type I failure (minor failure) which can be removed by a minimal repair and the other is Type II failure (catastrophic failure) which can be removed only by a complete repair. In this model, when the unit fails at its age t, Type I failure occurs with probability 1-p(t) and Type II failure occurs with probability p(t), $0{\leq}p(t){\leq}1$. Under the model, optimal replacement policies for the long-run average cost rate and the limiting efficiency are considered. Also taking the cost and the efficiency into consideration at the same time, the properties of the optimal policies under the Cost-Priority-Criterion and the Efficiency-Priority-Criterion are obtained.

  • Clustering is one of the key technologies in vehicular networks. Constructing and maintaining stable clusters is a challenging task in high mobility environments. DWCM (Distributed and Weighted Clustering based on Mobility Metrics) is proposed in this paper based on the d-hop dominating set of the network. Each vehicle is assigned a priority that describes the cluster relationship. The cluster structure is determined according to the d-hop dominating set, where the vehicles in the d-hop dominating set act as the cluster head nodes. In addition, cluster maintenance handles the cluster structure changes caused by node mobility. The rationality of the proposed algorithm is proven. Simulation results in the NS-2 and VanetMobiSim integrated environment demonstrate the performance advantages.
