사회복지관의 노인 경로식당 급식 서비스 현황 (Current Status and Management of Congregate Meal Service Program for the Elderly at Community Centers)

  • To investigate current status of the elderly meal service program, community centers nationwide were surveyed for congregate meal services. The survey was conducted during the month of December 2002 by mail using self-developed questionnaire on administration, staffs, funding, and meal service management. Only 95 out of 356 community centers (27%) answered and returned the questionnaires, and congregate meal menus were also collected from 20 centers for 492 days. Results were analyzed using SAS package program. In more than half of the elderly congregate meal service programs, following criteria were used in multiple form to allow participation; 65 years old or older, low income, or living alone. All centers served lunch, most of them free of charge, and 88.4% of them provided service 5 days a week. About 79% of the total cost occurred on the congregate meal service was supported by the government. Most of the menus served at congregate meal service were Korean style dish with rice. On the average, each meal provided 3 side dishes including kimchi, in addition to soup or stew. Only 19% of the centers have employed dietitian working for meal service programs; meal menus were prepared by social welfare workers or other non-dietetic personnels in more than 80% of the centers. Food purchasing and food hygiene control was also practiced mainly by social welfare workers or cooks. This study suggests that dietetic professionals are needed to better manage meal service programs for the elderly in both aspects, food hygiene and nutrition. Development of more nutritious menus and determination of appropriate serving sizes for the elderly meal service programs are necessary to meet the RDAs and dietary action guide for the elderly.

어린이급식관리지원센터 직원의 성격유형과 직무수행도가 감정고갈 및 직무만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Personality Type and Job Performance on Emotional Exhaustion and Job Satisfaction - Staff of the Center for Children's foodservice management -)

  • Objectives: This study examined the relationship between the personality traits and job performance of Centers for Children's Foodservice Management (CCFSM) staff on emotional exhaustion and job satisfaction. In addition, the characteristics of the center organization were examined to provide practical guidelines for the operation of the center. The aim was to determine management implications with an important meaning in human resource management to enhance the efficiency of the operation of Centers for Children's Foodservice Management (CCFSM). Methods: Out of 207 centers, there were 1,057 employees at 173 centers who agreed to participate in the study, the questionnaire was mailed on February 17, 2017 and collected by mail on March 31, 2017. Finally, 81 centers (46.82%) participated in the survey and 493 questionnaires were used. Results: Neuroticism among the five personality factors had a positive (+) influence on 'cynicism' and 'exhaustion' among the three subordinate factors of emotional exhaustion, negative (-) effects on the 'job' among the six subscales of job satisfaction. In addition, openness showed a negative (-) effect on 'loss of professional confidence' of emotional exhaustion and positive (+) relationship with the 'job' of job satisfaction. Agreeableness appeared to have a negative (-) effect on all factors of emotional exhaustion and a positive (+) influence on all factors of job satisfaction. As a result of analyzing the effects of job performance on emotional exhaustion and job satisfaction, the planning and operations management team showed a positive (+) influence on all factors of emotional exhaustion and negative (-) influence on all factors of job satisfaction. On the other hand, the nutrition management team showed a negative (-) influence on all emotional exhaustion factors and a positive (+) influence on the factors of job satisfaction. The hygiene management team showed a positive (+) relationship with 'Emotional exhaustion' among the subordinate factors of emotional exhaustion and a negative (-) influence on the 'Educational opportunity' of job satisfaction. Conclusions: The personality type and job performance of Centers for Children's foodservice management (ccfsm) staff significantly affected the emotional exhaustion and job satisfaction.

복지용구사업소 운영 현황 (Current Management Status of Welfare Medical Device Center)

  • 2008년 7월 노인장기요양보험제도 도입으로 공적 급여가 시작된 장기요양서비스 중 복지용구는 노인의 자립생활 지원 및 가족의 수발부담 경감 효과가 기대되는 중요한 서비스이다. 새로운 제도 도입 후 일 년이 경과한 현 시점에서 소비자에게 직접 복지용구를 제공하고 있는 복지용구사업소의 운영 현황을 파악하고자 전국 복지용구사업소를 대상으로 우편설문조사를 실시하였다. 194개소의 조사 자료를 분석한 결과, 대부분의 복지용구사업소는 관리, 인력, 시설, 서비스 등의 측면에서 보완해야할 여러 가지 문제들이 발견되었다. 복지용구사업소의 월매출액은 평균 797만원에 불과하여 경영상 어려움을 가질 것으로 판단되었다. 또한 배상책임보험은 절반 정도만이 가입되어 있어 사고 시 대비할 수 있는 체계가 갖추어지지 않은 경우가 많았으며, 정규직 인력 평균 2.6명 중 사회복지사 및 물리치료사는 약 20%에 불가하며 전문적 교육을 이수한 경험은 거의 없었다. 뿐만 아니라 세정소독시설을 갖춘 사업소 중 오염청결구역을 구분하는 비율은 44.8%에 불과하여 실제 세정·소독의 의미가 없는 경우가 많았다. 이에 양질의 복지용구서비스가 이루어지기 위해서는 배상책임보험 가입을 통한 불의의 사고에 대비, 복지용구 관련 인력에 대한 교육, 대여 복지용구의 세정소독 관리 강화 등이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

사회복지시설의 민간자원 동원에 영향을 주는 요인 분석: 후원을 중심으로

  • Social welfare facilities where provide the socially disadvantaged with proper social services, face financial difficulties. This is because not only of the lack of governmental support, but also of social welfare facilities' lack of skills in developing abundant resources from the private sector. In this context, this study tried to find factors affecting resource mobilization of the social welfare facilities to devise policies in resource development. Mail survey was conducted with the structured questionnaire. Employees in charge of community resource development were asked to answer the questionnaire. The study population were two types of welfare facilities: community welfare centers and residential care facilities. A total of 293 community welfare centers and 632 residential care facilities responded to the survey. The response rate was about 62%. The dependent variable of the study was the amount of resource mobilization in the year 2001 which was measured as the number of donors, the total amount of donation, and estimated amount of gift-in-kind. Three types models were constructed per each welfare facility. Independent variables were selected based on the previous research findings: community environment factor, structural factor, and resource development factor. Multiple regression was utilized to analyze the data. The resource development factor turned out to be significant variable in various models. In the models of donors, the amount of donation, and the amount of gift-in-kind, at least one out of four variables in the resource development factor was significant. Welfare centers which establish the resource development department or hire employees to take care of resource development, and adopt computer software in managing donors, receive more donations than their counterparts. Interestingly, the centers where employees take the responsibility of resource development as well as other responsibilities (dual duty), did not have more resources mobilized than those with no employees for resource development. Using computer software in managing donors turned out to be a significant variable in many models, except for the donor model. In addition, residential care facilities located in urban area have more donors and donations, and among residential facilities those for the elderly, children, and the mentally retarded and those hiring more employees, receive more donations than those for the disabled and those hiring less employees. As for the gift-in-kind model, the centers located in high income area and residential facilities for the elderly, women and mentally retarded receive less gift-in-kind than those for the disabled. Based on the above findings, this study suggested that to mobilize resources the welfare centers as well residential care facilities need to have community resource development department or resource development staffs, and adopt computer software to systematically organize donors.

지역사회복지관 조직풍토와 사회복지사의 자원연계기술과의 관계: 성찰적 사고의 매개효과 (The relationship between organizational climate and resource linkage skills of social workers in community welfare centers: The mediating effect of reflective thinking)

  • 본 연구는 지역사회복지관에 근무하는 사회복지사들의 자원연계기술에 지역사회복지관 조직풍토가 미치는 영향을 확인하고, 이들의 관계에서 성찰적 사고의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 지역사회복지관의 조직풍토, 자원연계기술, 성찰적 사고에 대한 선행연구를 토대로 연구모형을 설정하여 매개효과를 검증하였다. 본 연구의 대상은 부산광역시 소재의 종합사회복지관, 노인복지관, 장애인복지관 전수를 대상으로 이들 기관에 근무하는 사회복지사들을 대상으로 하였다. 자료수집은 우편설문조사방법으로 실시하였고, 526명의 자료를 최종분석에 활용하였다. 주요연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지역사회복지관의 조직풍토는 사회복지사의 자원연계기술에 통계적으로 유의미한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 사회복지사들이 조직풍토에 대해 긍정적으로 인식할수록 자원연계기술의 활용정도가 증가함을 의미한다. 둘째, 지역사회복지관의 조직풍토와 사회복지사의 자원연계기술과의 관계에서 성찰적 사고의 매개효과는 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 토대로 지역사회복지관 사회복지사들의 자원연계기술향상과 성찰적 사고의 실천적 방안들을 제언하고, 실천적 함의 및 추후연구과제에 대해 제시하였다.

Neural Network Based Recognition of Machine Printed Hangul Characters of Low Quality

  • In this paper, we propose a Hangul character recognition method in which new letter components as recognition units are introduced and the MLP (multilayer perceptrons) neural networks are employed for two-step recognition of Hangul. To recognize Hangul character, we divide it into two or three recognition units and extract the direction angle features of them to be fed to the corresponding neural network recognizers. The recognition results of neural network recognizers are combined by another neural network. The experiments were conducted on the Hangul characters from real letter envelopes which are collected in the mail centers in Korea and the results showed that our method performs better than the conventional one.

보건소 맞춤형 방문건강관리사업 전문인력의 직무분석 (Task Analysis of Managers in the Customized Visiting Health Services)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyze the tasks of managers who were working in the Customized Visiting Health Services (CVHS) and to prioritize analyzed tasks according to performance frequency, perceived importance, and difficulty. Methods: Job analysis method by Hartley (1999) was used for task analysis and performance frequency, perceived importance, and difficulty were used for prioritize as criteria. A total of 85 managers in the CVHS of public health centers nationwide were recruited through e-mail and mail survey. Using SPSS/WIN 15.0, descriptive statistics, such as frequency distribution, means, median, and standard deviation, were conducted to examine each subject's general characteristics, the frequency, importance, and difficulty of the tasks as well as to prioritize the each task. Results: The job description of the managers revealed 12 duties, 35 tasks, and 104 task elements. Of the 85 managers, 84.8% were classified as nurses, 40.5% were home health care specialists, and 32.9% were social workers. Their coretasks were management of client cases, budget management, and management of work performance and quality assurance. Conclusion: Considering the analyzed managers' tasks and core tasks, we need to examine each manager's role precisely and provide various educational programs for improving overall manager competence.

2014년 보건복지부 지정 54개 호스피스·완화의료 기관 내 음악치료 현황 (The Current Status of Music Therapy Centered on 54 Hospice and Palliative Care Settings Designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 2014)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 보건복지부에 의해 지정된 54개 호스피스 완화의료 기관에서 시행되고 있는 음악치료에 대한 수치 기반의 현황 자료를 제공하는 것이다. 54개 기관의 코디네이터에게 E-mail로 설문지를 발송하여 총 47개 기관(87%)의 음악치료사와 코디네이터로부터 E-mail과 우편으로 회신을 받았다. 조사기간은 2014년 10월 30일부터 12월 5일까지였으며, 음악치료사 대상 설문지는 근무조건/처우, 음악치료 환경, 진행 및 개인역량 등 총 65문항으로 구성하였다. 코디네이터 대상 설문지는 각 기관의 음악치료 시행 여부 및 코디네이터의 관점에서 바라 본 음악치료의 현황과 개인정보 등 총 28문항으로 구성하였다. 설문에 응답한 47개 기관 중 음악치료 시행 기관은 22개 기관(46.8%)이었으며, 음악치료사 28명 가운데, 음악치료를 전공한 음악치료사는 19명(67.9%)인 것으로 파악되었다. 세션 준비, 수행, 평가와 관련해 음악치료를 진행하기에 적합한 환경이 갖추어져 있는지를 묻는 문항에 대해 음악치료사(M = 3.43, SD = 0.96)와 코디네이터(M = 2.73, SD = 0.77)의 응답 간에 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다(p < .05). 국내 호스피스 완화의료에서의 음악치료는 현재 시행 기관이 많지 않고 환경이 열악하지만, 음악치료에 대한 인식 결과를 볼 때 향후 호스피스 완화의료에서 보다 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 예상된다. 본 연구의 결과는 한국 호스피스 완화의료 기관에서의 음악치료 현황에 대한 최초의 정량적, 통계적 기초자료로서 의의가 있다.

약물중독 환자의 병원 전 단계 처치에 관한 119 응급구조요원의 지식과 수행 태도 (The Knowledge and Attitude of Prehospital Care among Emergency Medical Technicians Working at 119 Fire Safety Centers for Patients with Acute Drug Intoxication)

  • 2009년 3월 1일~4월 31일까지 광주광역시와 전라남도에 근무하는 119 응급구조요원 288명을 대상으로 병원 전 단계 에서 119 응급구조요원이 약물중독환자에게 실시하는 병원 전 응급처치의 지식과 수행 태도에 대한 서술적 조사 연구이다. 약물중독의 지식정도 평점은 10점 만점에 7.04점, 약물중독환자의 응급처치 수행 태도는 평점 4점 만점에 2.96점으로 응급처치 지식은 높으나 수행태도는 낮은 경향이었다. 또한 약물중독 환자에게 틀리게 응급 처치한 경우가 34.6%로서 환자의 생명에 직결되는 문제를 야기할 수도 있다. 수행 태도의 4개 하위 영역별로 살펴보면, 환자 상태파악 영역 3.52점$\pm$0.59, 환자처치 영역 2.95점$\pm$0.57, 환자예후 파악 영역 2.78점$\pm$0.75, 의료지도 업무수행 영역 1.67점$\pm$1.05의 순으로 의료지도 업무 수행영역이 가장 낮은 점은 시사하는 바가 크다. 즉 병원 전 단계의 의료지도가 중요하므로 향후 응급실의 응급의학 전문의 중 1인이 응급구조사로 부터 환자상태를 보고 받으면 투약과 처치를 지도하는 병원-응급구조대 연계체계의 구축이 바람 직하다. 약물중독환자에 대한 지식은 연령, 성별, 지역별 근무지에 따라 차이가 있었다. 응급처치 수행 태도는 성별, 지역별 근무지, 교대 근무 형태, 학력, 올바른 응급처치, 연수 여부 별로 차이가 있었다. 대상자인 119 응급구조요원의 약물중독 보수교육률과 연수률이 낮았고 약물중독에 관한 전문교육요구는 높았다. 이상의 연구결과를 통해 병원 전 단계 약물중독환자에 대한 응급구조사의 지식은 높지만, 수행 태도에서 환자 상태파악은 잘 하고 있었으나, 환자예후 파악과 의료지도 업무는 정확하게 수행하지 못하고 있었다. 본 연구는 향후 응급구조사와 119 응급구조요원에 대한 반복적인 술기 중심 응급처치 연수를 통한 응급구조사의 질 향상과 병원 전 단계 약물중독 환자 지침서 개발에 유용한 자료가 될 것으로 본다.

Epidural Steroid Injection in Korean Pain Physicians: A National Survey

  • Background: Epidural steroid injection (ESI) is one of the most common procedures for patients presenting low back pain and radiculopathy. However, there is no clear consensus on what constitutes appropriate steroid use for ESIs. To investigate optimal steroid injection methods for ESIs, surveys were sent to all academic pain centers and selected private practices in Korea via e-mail. Methods: Among 173 pain centers which requested the public health insurance reimbursements for their ESIs and were enrolled in the Korean Pain Society, 122 completed questionnaires were returned, for a rate of 70.5%; also returned were surveys from 39 academic programs and 85 private practices with response rates of 83.0% and 65.9%, respectively. Results: More than half (55%) of Korean pain physicians used dexamethasone for ESIs. The minimum interval of subsequent ESIs at the academic institutions (3.1 weeks) and the private practices (2.1 weeks) were statistically different (P = 0.01). Conclusions: Although there was a wide range of variation, there were no significant differences between the academic institutions and the private practices in terms of the types and single doses of steroids for ESIs, the annual dose of steroids, or the limitations of doses in the event of diabetes, with the exception of the minimum interval before the subsequent ESI.
