The study of the seismic vulnerability of masonry buildings requires structural properties of walls such as stiffness, ultimate load capacity, etc. In this article, a method is suggested for modeling the masonry walls under in-plane loading. At the outset, a set of analytical equations was established for determining the elastic properties of an equivalent homogeneous material of masonry. The results for homogenized unreinforced brick walls through detailed modeling were compared in different manners such as solid and perforated walls, in-plane and out-of-plane loading, etc, and it was found that this method provides suitable accuracy in estimation of the wall linear properties. Furthermore, comparison of the results of proposed modeling with experimental out coming indicated that this model considers the non linear properties of the wall such as failure pattern, performance curve and ultimate strength, and would be appropriate to establish a parametric study on those prone factors. The proposed model is complicated; therefore, efforts need to be made in order to overcome the convergency problems which will be included in this study. The nonlinear model is basically semi-macro but through a series of actions, it can be simplified to a macro model.

We suggested a macro medel for MOS transistors, which incorporates the distributed substrate resistance by using a method which utilizes external diodes on SPICE MOS model. By fitting the simulated s-parameters to the measures ones, we obtained a model set for the W=200TEX>$\mu\textrm{m}$ and L=0.8TEX>$\mu\textrm{m}$ NMOS transistor, and also analyzed the effects of distributed substrate resistance in the RF range. By comparing the physical parameters calculated from simulated s-parameters such as ac resistances and capacitances with the measured ones, we confirmed the validity of the simulation results. For the frequencies below 10GHz, it seems appropriated to use a simple macro model which utilizes the existing SPICE MOS model with junction diodes, after including one lumped resistor each for gate and substrate nodes.
A crack model for the fracture in concrete based on meshless method is proposed in this paper. The cracks in concrete are classified into micro-cracks or macro-cracks respectively according to their widths, and different numerical approaches are adopted for them. The micro-cracks are represented with smeared crack approach whilst the macro-cracks are represented with discrete cracks that are made up with additional nodes and boundaries. The widely used meshless method, Element-free Galerkin method, is adopted instead of finite element method to model the concrete, so that the discrete crack approach is easier to be implemented with the convenience of arranging node distribution in the meshless method. Rotating-Crack-Model is proved to be preferred over Fixed-Crack-Model for the smeared cracks of this composite crack model due to its better performance on mesh bias. Numerical examples show that this composite crack model can take advantage of the positive characteristics in the smeared and discrete approaches, and overcome some of their disadvantages.

surface texture denotes set of tiny repetitive geometric features on an object surface. 3D Printing can readily create a surface of controlled macro-textures of high geometric complexity. Designing surface textures for 3D Printing, however, is difficult due to complex macro-structure of the tiny texture geometry since it needs to be compatible with the non-traditioal manufacturing method. In this paper we propose a visual simulation technique involving development of a virtual model-an intermediate geometric model-of the surface texture design prior to fabricating the physical model. Careful examination of the virtual model before the actual fabrication can help minimize unwanted design iterations. The proposed technique demonstrated visualization capability by comparing the virtual model with the physical model for several test cases.
As CBD technologies and researches have been matured, component framework as a larger reuse unit than component is being introduced. Especially issues related with adaptation and integration of components in CBD are being raised as a new research topic. The component framework is given as a solution to resolve these issues. However, current approaches don't suggest a sound and comprehensive reference model and development process applying reference model. In order to develop practical and stable component framework, reference model and concrete guidelines are essential elements. In this paper, we propose a generic reference model integrating existing reference models and a design technique of component framework based on it. Especially, we propose concrete and pragmatic guidelines such as how to design component framework architecture's view and style, how to design commonality and variability of component framework, how to design macro workflows among components, and so on. We believe that the proposed reference model becomes basis for component framework development, and the proposed design technique will support reliable and effective development of the component framework.

Research that reconstructs a 3D model from a freehand 2D sketch has gained attention since 1990s, when data integration in the CAD/CAPP/CAM/CNC chain was an important issue. However, 2D sketches in the conceptual design phase have not been integrated with the downstream CAD/CAPP/CAM/CNC chain. In this paper, we present a method to interface a freehand sketch modeling to commercial CAD systems by mapping a sketch modeling history to the macro parametric history. We use an extended ISO10303-112 standard to represent the modeling history in a gestural modeling system and translate sketch files to neutral macro files. Macro parametric translators are used to translate netural macro files to commercial CAD files.
The elasticity of a model is considered most important. Without showing the proper elasticity any model cannot provide useful information for decision making. This paper demonstrates a macro model which can generate dynamic transport informations every 15 minutes. Without the Wardrop principles and the monotonicity assumptions for the link travel time and link volume relationship, the basic elements of this new modeling approache are composed of link density simulation, stochastic incremental route choice, departure time choice, destination choice and mode choice. The elasticity of the proposed model is examined based on elasticity equations and simulation results. Also the transferability from a mega city like Seoul to a big city like Daejon is demonstrated for the choice model. The issues centering around the dynamic relations among density(k), speed(u), and flow rate(v) are also discussed for the modeling of highly congested situations.
In this paper, BSIM4's IIR(Intrinsic Input Resistance) model that has a difficulty to predict $Z_{11}$ exactly is investigated by analyzing S-parameter measurement. Then a BSIM4 macro model for 70nm RF MOSFETs is proposed. That model uses external effective gate resistance which is composed of R and parallel RC. Comparison between simulation results using proposed model and IIR model is shown. The proposed model shows a better agreement between measured and simulated results up to 20GHz.

High voltage (HV) integrated circuits are viable alternatives to discrete circuits in a wide variety of applications. A HV device generally used in these circuits is a lateral double diffused metal oxide semiconductor (LDMOS) transistor. Attempts to model LDMOS devices are complicated by the existence of the lightly doped drain and by the extension of the poly-silicon and the gate oxide. Several physically based investigations of the bias-dependent drift resistance of HV devices have been conducted, but a complete physical model has not been reported. We propose a new technique to model HV devices using both the BSIM3 SPICE model and a bias dependent resistor model (sub-circuit macro model).
The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of parent's support on the school adaptation of immigrant adolescents to school life, the mediating effect of self-esteem, and the moderating effect of cultural adaptation stress. The data used for the analysis were the second panel data (2020) among the multicultural youth panel survey data. As for the data analysis method, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis, PROCESS MACRO Model Number 4 and PROCESS MACRO Model Number 1 analysis were performed. As a result of the analysis, first, parental support showed a positive (+) effect on school life adaptation. Second, in the relationship between parent's support and school adaptation, self-esteem had a statistically significant indirect effect. Third, it was found that cultural adaptation stress had no moderating effect in the relationship between parent's support and school adaptation. Based on these results, policy and practical suggestions for improving the school adaptation of immigrant adolescents to school life were presented.
