차세대 인터넷을 위한 MPLS 기술 표준

  • 본 고에서는 국제적으로 MPLS 기술표준화 현황과 국내에서 고품질의 Reliable 및 Manageable 인터넷을 위하여 MPLS 기술도입을 지원하기 위해 국가표준건의 대상으로 선정된(제33차정보통신표준총회) 6건의 정보통신단체표준(TTAS)에 대하여 설명한다.

Congestion Control Mechanism using Real Time Signaling Information in ATM based MPLS Network (ATM 기반 MPLS 망에서 실시간 신호정보를 이용한 체증 제어 기법)

  • ATM protocol has the techniques such as cell discarding priority, traffic shaping and traffic policing. ATM based MPLS(Multiprotocol Label Switching) is discussed for its provisioning QoS commitment capabilities, traffic engineering and smooth migration for BcN using conventional ATM infra in Korea. This paper proposes preventive congestion control mechanism for detecting HTR(Hard To Reach) LSP(Label Switched Path) in ATM based MPLS systems. In particular, we decide HTR LSP using real time signaling information(etc., PTI,AIS/RDI) for applying HTR concept in circuit switching to ATM based MPLS systems and use those session gap and percentage based control algorithm that were used in conventional PSTN call controls. We concluded that it maximized the efficiency of network resources by restricting ineffective machine attempts. Proposed control can handle 208% call processing and more than 147% success call, than those without control. It can handle 187% BHCA(Busy Hour Call Attempts) with 100 times less than use of exchange memory.

  • In the ACE2000 MPLS system, MPLS Interface Module(MIM) is composed of an ATM Interface Module and a HFMA performing a packet forwarding. In the MIM, the HFMA RSAR receive cells from the Physical layer and reassemble the cells. And the IP Lookup controller perform a packet forwarding after packet classification. Forwarded packet is segmented into cells in the HFMA TSAR and transfer to the ALMA for the transmission to an ATM cell switch. When the MIM make use of an ATM Interface Module, it directly connect the ALMA with a PHY layer using the UTOPIA Level2 interface. Then, an ALMA performs Master Mode. Also, the HFMA TSAR performs the Master Mode in the MIM. Therefore, the UTOPIA-L2 Controller of the Slave Mode require for interfacing between an ALMA and a HFHA TSAR. In this paper, we implement the architecture and cell control mechanism for the UTOPIA-L2 Controller supporting Multi-ports.

Extension of E-LSP for Supporting Differentiated Service in MPLS (MPLS에서 차등화 서비스를 지원하기 위한 E-LSP의 확장)

  • NGI(Next Generation Internet) is characterized by QoS(Quality of Service) and high speed transmission. Recently, DiffServ and MPLS become most influential NGI architecture. To guarantee end-to-end QoS, it is essential for NGI to interwork MPLS with DiffServ. Here, MPLS WG(Working Group) in IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force) proposed the method of E-LSP(EXP inferred-PSC LSPs) and L-LSP(Label-Only-Inferred PSC LSPs), but both of them have serious problems to satisfy perfect interworking. In this paper, we proposed an extended E-LSP architecture that supports Perfect DiffServ class and experimental function in MPLS such as ECN(Explicit Congestion Notification) capability. We verify that the proposed E-LSP architecture improves QoS in NGI by using ns2 simulator.

QoS-Guaranteed Segment Restoration in MPLS Network (MPLS망에서 QoS 보장 세그먼트 복구 방법)

  • In this paper, we present a methodology for fast segment restoration under multiple simultaneous link failures in mesh-type MPLS networks. The salient feature of the methodology is that both resilience and QoS constraint conditions have been taken into account for fast segment restoration. For fast restoration, a sufficient condition for testing the existence of backup segments with guaranteed-resilience has been derived for a mesh-type MPLS network. The algorithms for constructing backup segments which can meet both resilience and QoS constraint conditions are then presented with illustrating examples. Finally, simulation has been done to show the efficiency of the proposed segment restoration algorithms.

  • ACE2000 MPLS 시스템은 대용량 ATM 교환 시스템인 ACE2000 ATM 교환시스템에 MPLS 기능을 부가함으로써 사용자들에게 차별화 된 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 시스템이다 MPLS 시스템에서는 채널 사용의 유연성과 채널 자원의 효율적인 사용을 위해 VC 머징 기능을 요구하고 있다. 이를 위해 ACE2000 MPLS 시스템에서는 출력 방향 패킷 처리기에 VC머징 기능을 구현하여 적용하고 있다. 구현된 VC 머징 장치는 고성능 SAR 소자를 이용하였다. VC 머징 장치는 ATM 셀 구조로 입력되고, 입력된 ATM 셀은 고성능 SAR 소자에 의해 AAL-5 유형의 패킷으로 변환되어 VC 머징 제어기로 입력된다. VC 머징 제어기에서는 패킷 입력부로부터 패킷을 받아들여 채널 연결 설정 정보에 따른 VC 머징 기능을 수행하도록 패킷을 처리한다. 이 VC 머징 제어기에서의 패킷 처리 시 스위치 포트의 Full Mesh 연결로 인해 발생되는 채널 자원의 감소 문제를 해결하고, 채널 자원을 증대시키기 위해 2 단계의 룩업 과정을 거치는 패킷 제어 기능을 수행한다. 패킷 제어기에 의해 처리된패킷은 또 하나의 고성능 SAR 소자로 구성되어 있는 패킷 출력부로 전달되어 셀 분할(Segmentation) 과정을 거쳐 ATM 형태로 다음 레이블 스위치 라우터로 전달 되도록 물리층 보드로 전달된다. 본 논문에서는 ATM 교환 시스템을 기반으로 MPLS 시스템에서 채널자원의 증대를 위한 출력방향 패킷 처리장치에 대하여 제안한다.

Preparation and Characterization of Polymer Lubricating Bearings (고온용 폴리머 윤활 베어링의 특성 연구)

  • Microporous polymer lubricants(MPLs) are solid polymer materials containing micropores which are filled with liquid lubricants, and which are molded or formed to suit rolling bearings or other machine parts requiring lubrication. MPLs can be effectively applied to provide long-term, maintenance-free lubrication of a variety of machine elements without fully replacing of oils and greases. The application of rolling bearings packed fully with an MPL could reduce or eliminate the problems such as grease deterioration, leakage, under-lubrication caused by insertion of water or foreign matters under severe operation conditions. This paper discuss the application of MPLs for lubrication of rolling ball bearings. Two different MPLs were synthesized and the features of MPLs were tested. Characteristics of the bearings which are packed fully with synthesized MPLs were investigated using SEM, TG/DSC, extents of oil leakage, OIT, and life time test. After these preliminary tests twelve MPLs were synthesized and evaluated by measuring extents of oil leakage and OIT values. Then synthesis conditions for the optimum MPL were selected by SSRED(Six Sigma Robust Engineering Design) pro gram using extents of oil leakage and OIT values respectively. The optimum MPL by means of OIT value showed higher performance such as long life time and application at higher temperature of $140^{\circ}C$ than previous temperature of $100^{\circ}C$.

  • This paper researches and evaluates a bandwidth reallocation mechanism for efficient DiffServ QoS support in MPLS networks by monitoring the network traffic status and reallocating unused bandwidth. While the Differentiated Services in MPLS Networks architecture provides QoS management through the RSVP resource reservation, this mechanism is based on a static provisioning of resource. But this approach can lead to waste bandwidth in some service classes or, leave some service classes' resource starved. This paper presents the bandwidth reallocation dynamically based on network traffic status for bandwidth usage maximization.

  • With the established voice service, the data service is increasing in the field of mobile telecommunications in these days. Also, the data service develops into the form of multimedia service which combines various media. However, it is limited to provide QoS(Quality of Service) for the multimedia using the established network which manages all the data in sam: rule. So, this paper suggests the network architecture which assures QoS of multimedia data by applying MPLS(Multi-Protocol Label Switching) to the core network. Especially, we analyze the efficiency of the network combining Mobile IP network based on the WLAN(Wireless LAN) and core network based on MPLS through by network simulations using QualNet.

  • The Next generation IP-based wireless access network proposed Mobile IP(IPv4) protocols to support mobility of node. Because Mobile IPv4 operates on th basis deigned IP in fixed network, it causes performance drop like triangle routing and handover delay. Therefore Mobile IPv4 needs scheme to complement this problems and to support service guaranteed QoS. Concerns about using MPLS networks in the next generation IP-based wireless access network are increasing. In our previous research, we proposed MCS&MUMCA, IP mobility management scheme. In this paper, we linkage the MCS&MUMCA in MPLS network and analyze its the performance.
