  • Modules of the system that requires large capacity and high-speed information processing are implemented in the form of MCM that allows high-speed data processing, high density circuit integration and widely applied to such fields as ATM, GPS and PCS. Hence we developed the ATM switching module that is consisted of three chips and 2.48 Gbps data throughput, in the form of 10 multi-layer by Cu/Photo-BCB and 491pin PBGA which size is $48 \times 48 \textrm {mm}^2$. hnologies required for the development of the MCM includes extracting parameters for designing the substrate/package through the interconnect characterization to implement the high-speed characteristics, thermal management at the high-density MCM, and the generation of the testability that is one of the most difficult issues for developing the MCM. For the development of the ATM Switching MCM, we extracted signaling delay, via characteristics and crosstalk parameters through the interconnect characterization on the MCM-D. For the thermal management of 15.6 Watt under the high-density structure, we carried out the thermal analysis. formed 1.108 thermal vias through the substrate, and performed heat-proofing processing for the entire package so that it can keep the temperature less than $85^{\circ}C$. Lastly, in order to ensure the testability, we verified the substrate through fine pitch probing and applied the Boundary Scan Test (BST) for verifying the complex packaging/assembling processes, through which we developed an efficient and cost-effective product.

  • The $CO_2$ adsorption and characteristics of mesoporous silica MCM-41 impregnated by MEA (Monoethanolamine) were examined in this study. The adsorbents were characterized by XRD (X-ray powder diffraction), FT-IR (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy), $N_2$ adsorption-desorption isotherms. $CO_2$ adsorption measurements were carried out using a GC-TCD unit using 15% $CO_2$ gas. The $CO_2$ adsorption capacity of MCM-41 increased by MEA contents to 10~40 wt%, otherwise MEA content of 50 wt% was decreased $CO_2$ adsorption capacity. The amines tended to deform at MCM-41 surface if too many amines were provided. Therefore $CO_2$ adsorption capacity can be decreased. The results of this study suggest it is important to control content of MEA in MCM-41 for adsorption of $CO_2$.

  • MCM-41 type spherical mesoporous silica material was synthesized, under basic conditions, in the presence of cationic surfactant as templating species. The cationic surfactants used in this experiment were octyltrimethylammonium bromide, dodecyltrimetylammonium bromide, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, octadecyltrimethyammonium bromide and cetylpyridium bromide. Specific surface area of spherical MCM-41 was as high as $1500m^2/g$ and the pore size decreased with increasing alkyl chain length of surfactant.

  • A solid-state reaction of $V_2O_5$ with AlMCM-48 followed by calcination generated very weak paramagnetic $VO^{2+}$ species in the mesoporous material. Dehydration and subsequent reduction with CO result in the formation of vanadyl $VO^{2+}$ species that can be characterized by EPR. The chemical environment of vanadium centers in $VO^{2+}-AlMCM-48$ was investigated by XRD, EDX, DR-UV-Vis, EPR,$^{29}Si$ and $^{27}Al$ and $^{51}V$ NMR. Vanadium species in MCM-48 are existed as pseudotetrahedral $VO^{2+}$ state when they were dehydrated or reduced with CO. The coordination of water on vanadyl ions transformed their structure to distorted octahedral.

  • A Fe-containing mesoporous silica (Fe-MCM-41) in which part of Si in the framework was replaced by Fe(Si-O-Fe) has been successfully prepared using $Fe^{3+}$ salt by a direct synthesis route. Physical properties of the material were characterized by XRD, $N_2$ adsorption, SEM/TEM, UV-vis and FT-IR spectroscopies. Fe-MCM-41 exhibited high catalytic activity in phenol hydroxylation using $H_2O_2$ as oxidant, giving phenol conversion of ca. 60% at $50^{\circ}C$ [phenol : $H_2O_2$ = 1:1, water solvent]. Fe-MCM-41 was also applied to the growth of CNTs, utilizing a thermal-CVD reactor using acetylene gas, which demonstrated that multi-wall CNTs could be prepared efficiently using the Fe-MCM-41 catalyst.

  • The proposal set out in this paper, is the Adaptive-MCM(Modulation, Coding and MIMO) system, which results from the combination of adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) and multiple input multiple output (MIMO) schemes. The performance of this system is analyzed through computer simulation. By using the MIMO scheme adaptively as well, the proposed Adaptive-MCM system, presents a better improvement of data rate and error performance compared to the AMC system. The throughput performance of the Adaptive-MCM system is analyzed and compared with the throughput performance of Non-Adaptive-MCM Systems. As a result of the simulation, we can infer that, at a fixed MCM level, there is an improvement of the trade-off between secure Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and a high data rate. Consequently, this trade-off improvement results in a better average data rate.

  • Diphenyl amine (DPA) was polymerized inside the channels of the mesoporous silica (MCM-41). MCM-41 (C) and MCM-41 (D) were prepared with cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) and dodecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (DTAB), respectively and used as hosts. Initially, the self assembly of DPA inside the pores of MCM-41 was made in ${\beta}$-naphthalene sulfonic acid (NSA) medium and subsequently poly (diphenylamine), PDPA was formed by oxidative polymerization. $N_2$ adsorption-desorption measurements of PDPA loaded MCM-41 (C) and MCM-41 (D) show variations in pore volume and surface area between them. A tubular form of poly (diphenylamine), PDPA was envisaged to form in the pores of MCM-41 and supported by high resolution transmission microscopy. The presence of PDPA inside the channel of MCM-41 was further confirmed by FTIR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction.

  • A mesoporous molecular sieve, MCM-41, was synthesized and the effent of various initial pH of reaction mixtures on the synthesis and physical properties of MCM-41 was investigated. Adjustment of initial pH for reaction mixtures was made before starting hydrothermal reaction rather than during the reaction. Highly crystalline MCM-41 which shows pore diameters of $30{\AA}$ to $40{\AA}$ and specific surface areas greater than $1000m^2/g$ has been successfully prepared through a single adjustment of initial pH. Results also suggest that the initial pH adjustment has a significant effect on the formation of MCM-41 with a long-range ordered hexagonal array and an excellent thermal stability. Finally, it is speculated that the adjustment of initial pH might accelerate the dissolution of stable polymeric sodium silicate to highly reactive monomeric sodium silicate resulting in well-ordered MCM-41.
