The purpose of this paper is to propose an interactive method using the concept of SignaltoNoise (SN) ratios and cutting ranges for selecting the most preferred alternatives of Multipleattribute DecisionMaking(MADM) with thesmallerthebetter or thelargerthebetter characteristics. In this method the decision makers could make a grouping of attributes by their priorities. This research is based on the assumption of an equality between the attributes of MADM with the characteristics of Taguchi method. As a result, this interactive method could transform the characteristic value of Taguchi method into the size of SN ratios which are relatively easy to understand by decision makers.

The purpose of this paper is to propose a method for selecting the preferred alternatives of Multiple- Attribute Decision-Making(MADM) problem using the Entropy measure. A decision-maker who wants to estimate exactly the weight to be applied to her/his MADM problem is usually confronted with the embarrassing situation where, although there exist a variety of weighting methods, it is hard to find a right procedure to choose a pertinent value To remedy this uncomfortable situation, the Entropy measure commonly used in information theory, Is proposed as a tool that can be used by decision-makers to more efficiently select the preferred alternatives. As a result, the method proposed in the paper can be significant in that relatively easy to understand by decision-makers.

This paper proposes CAC method that is more efficient for RRM using game theory combined with Multiple Attribute Decision Making(MADM). Because users request services with different Quality of Service(QoS), the network preference values to alternative networks for each service are calculated by MADM methods such as Grey Relational Analysis(GRA), Simple Additive Weighting(SAW) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution(TOPSIS). According to a utility function representing preference value, non-cooperative game is played, and then network provider select the requested service that provide maximum payoff. The appropriate service is selected through Nash Equilibrium that is the solution of game and the game is played repeated. We analyze two overlaid networks among four Wireless LAN(WLAN) systems with different properties. Simulation results show that proposed MADM techniques have same outcomes for every game round.
In the past, the power expansion planning (PEP) used least cost optimization. But PEP is required considering variable attributes. Because the environment of power industry changes very fast. This paper presents PEP using a multi-attribute decision method (MADM). MADM base on preference and utility.
Structural monitoring is the most important part of the construction and operation of the embankment dams. Appropriate instruments selection for dams is vital, as inappropriate selection causes irreparable loss in critical condition. Due to the lack of a systematic approach to determine adequate instruments, a framework based on three comparable Multi-Attribute Decision Making (MADM) methods, which are VIKOR, technique of order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) and Preference ranking organization method for enrichment evaluation (PROMETHEE), has been developed. MADM techniques have been widely used for optimizing priorities and determination of the most suitable alternatives. However, the results of the different methods of MADM have indicated inconsistency in ranking alternatives due to closeness of judgements from decision makers. In this study, 9 criteria and 42 geotechnical instruments have been applied. A new method has been developed to determine the decision makers' importance weights and an aggregation method has been introduced to optimally select the most suitable instruments. Consequently, the outcomes of the aggregation ranking correlate about 94% with TOPSIS and VIKOR, and 83% with PROMETHEE methods' results providing remarkably appropriate prioritisation of instruments for embankment dams.

The "optimal" solution for a decision making problem should be the one that best reflects the decision-maker's preference. For MADM (Multi-Attribute Decision-Making) problems, however, finding an optimal solution is difficult, especially when the number of alternatives, or that of attributes is relatively large. Most of the existing mathematical approaches arrive at a final solution on the basis of many unrealistic assumptions, without reflecting the decision-maker's preference structure exactly. To remedy this, some interactive methods have been proposed, but most of them require a large amount of information growing exponentially as the number of alternatives, or that of attributes increases. Therefore it is difficult for the decision-maker to maintain consistency throughout the decision making process. In this paper, an interactive method which finds optimal solutions for deterministic MADM problems with many attributes and alternatives is proposed. Instead of considering all the attributes simultaneously, this method partitions all the attributes into several mutually independent subgroups and considers one of them at each of preordered steps, where the alternatives are eliminated until the optimal one is obtained. The efficiency of the method lies in the fact that the amount of neccessary information is reduced significantly, and even further if a suboptimal solution is acceptable to the decision-maker.ion-maker.
The evaluation structure of complex problems is composed of multi-attributes and hierarchy. A many studies were existed on this problems, but that based on the assumption that the evaluation elements were independent. The actual evaluation problems have the complexity, ambiguity and interlinkage among the elements. In this situation, the fuzzy evaluation process is very effective in settling the complex problems. For evaluation of large scale hierarchical MADM problem, the fuzzy evaluation algorithm is developed in this paper, and that is centering on the identification of fuzzy measures. In this study, we newly identified the weight and interaction among the evaluation attributes. The results of this study are as follows: we can identified the hierarchical structure of the evaluation problem which is composed of the evaluation structure, function and hierarchy; we improved the existed weighting method which could be accomplished by normalizing process, considering the uncertainty and new weight integrating method which come from Dempster-Shafer theory. And we take into account the interaction properties among more than 3 evaluation attributes, which can be compared with the existed studies in which only 2 evaluation attributes taked into account.

The purpose of this paper is to propose an interactive method, using fuzzy Choquet's integral, which is designed to find out the mostly preferred solutions for deterministic MADM problems with many attributes and alternatives. The basic idea of the paper is essentially the same as that of the one we have published before[1]; subgrouping of attributes and eliminating of inefficient solutions. But the difference between these two methods lies in the fact that the present method evaluates and eliminates alternatives using fuzzy Choquet's integral on the basis of decision-maker's judgements about the relative importance of subgroups of attributes, rather than using mathematical programming on the basis of pair-wise comparisons of alternatives. If such information is obtainable from the decision-maker, the method can be proved to be much easier to understand and more efficient to compute.

A elevator group supervisory system is designed to perform efficient operation of multiple elevators, and its basic function is to assign an appropriate elevator to a given hall-cell. In this paper, in order to improve elevator group control performance, we propose a new dispatching system which includes fuzzy multi-attribute decision making(MADM). In most cases, the purpose of group control is to maximize control goals as much as possible. Unfortunately, the decision of optimal elevator to a given hall cell is made with very uncertain information of the system, and some of control goals are related each other. The uncertainty is mainly resulted from car calls generated by serving hall calls. A fuzzy MADM algorithm is proposed to deal with these problems to improve system performance.
