Most of existing RFID authentication protocols either suffer from some security weaknesses or require costly operations that are not available on low-cost tags. In this paper, we analyzed the security mechanism of a lightweight authentication protocol.
In this paper, we proposed and analyzed a new class of irregular fault-tolerant multistage interconnection network named as Extended-QT(Quad Tree) network. E-QT network is extended QT network. A unique path MIN usually is low hardware complexity and control algorithm. So we proposes a class of multipath MIN which are obtained by adding self-loop auxiliary links at the a1l stages in QT(Quad Tree) networks so that they can provide more paths between each source-destination pair. The routing of proposed structure is adaptived and is based by a routing tag. Starting with the routing tag for the minimum path between a given source-destination pair, routing algorithm uses a set of rules to select switches and modify routing tag. Trying the self-loop auxiliary link when both of the output links are unavailable. If the trying is failure, the packet discard. In simulation, an index of performance called reliability and cost are introduced to compare different kinds of MINs. As a result, the prouosed MINs have better capacity than 07 networks.
Chen et al. proposed a RFID authentication protocol for anti-counterfeiting and privacy protection. A feasible security mechanism for anti-counterfeiting and privacy protection was proposed using XOR and random number shifting operations to enhance RFID tag's security providing a low cost. However, their authentication protocol has some drawbacks and security problems because they did not consider the surrounding environments. We conduct analysis on the protocol and identify problematic areas for improvement of the research. We also provide enhanced authentication and update scheme based on the comment for efficient supply chain management. The proposed protocol was analyzed and compared with typical XOR based RFID authentication protocols and it was confirmed that our protocol has high safety and low communication cost.

In this paper, we examined the operating principle of a passive tag antenna for RFID system in UHF band. Based on the study, we proposed a novel RFID tag antenna which adopts the inductively coupled feeding structure to match antenna impedance to a capacitively loaded commercial tag chip. The proposed tag antenna consists of microstrip lines on a thin PET substrate for low-cost fabrication. The detail structure of the tag antenna were optimized using a full electromagnetic wave simulator of IE3D in conjunction with a Pareto genetic algorithm and the size of the tag antenna can be reduced up to kr=0.27($2 cm^2$). We built some sample antennas and measured the antenna characteristics such as a return loss, an efficiency, and radiation patterns. The readable range of the tag antenna with a commercial RFID system showed about 1 to 3 m.

RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) is a technology that automatically identifies objects attached with electronic tags by using radio wave. For the implementation of an RFID system, an anti-collision algorithm is required to identify several tags within the RFID reader's range. Few researches report the performance trade-off among anti-collision algorithms in terms of the communications traffic between the reader and tags, the identification speed, and so on. In this paper, we analyze both tree based memoryless algorithms and slot aloha based algorithms that comprise of almost every class of existing anti-collision algorithms. To compare the performance, we evaluated each class of anti-collision algorithms with respect to low-cost RFID system with 96-bit EPC(Electronic Product Code). The results show that the collision tracking tree algorithm outperforms current tree based and aloha based algorithms by at least 2 times to 50 times.

In this paper, we propose a new antenna design method for RFID tass on metallic surfaces using a low-cost, high-loss substrate such as FR4. The proposed design method highly reduces the substrate loss due to its dielectric loss, and so improves the radiation efficiency of the tag antenna more than double compared with a conventional PIFA(planar inverted-F antenna). The equivalent circuit model of the antenna according to the proposed method was established and its characteristics were analyzed systematically in this paper. The excellency of the proposed design method was verified by the fabrication and measurement of a prototype antenna.
Radio frequency identification (RFID) sensor tag provides several advantages including battery-less operation and low cost, which are suitable for long-term monitoring. This paper presents a self-powered RFID temperature sensor tag for online temperature monitoring in substation. The proposed sensor tag is used to measure and process the temperature of high voltage equipments in substation, and then wireless deliver the data. The proposed temperature sensor employs a novel phased-locked loop (PLL)-based architecture and can convert the temperature sensor in frequency domain without a reference clock, which can significantly improve the temperature accuracy. A two-stage rectifier adopts a series of auxiliary floating rectifier to boost its gate voltage for higher power conversion efficiency. The sensor tag chip was fabricated in TSMC $0.18{\mu}m$ 1P6M CMOS process. The measurement results show that the proposed temperature sensor tag achieve a resolution of $0.15^{\circ}C$/LSB and a temperature error of $-0.6/0.7^{\circ}C$ within the range from $-30^{\circ}C$ to $70^{\circ}C$. The proposed sensor tag achieves maximum communication distance of 11.8 m.
RFID technology using the smart tag technology as a part of the sensor network is currently in the spotlight. But there are still many problems in applying the technology in a ubiquitous environment, induding at the point when anybody can read the tag information and the authentication between the tag and the reader, and security problems in very low-cost smart tag implementation. The proposed scheme is designed to enhance security and efficiency related to various services required in RF networks, based on the reliable peripheral devices for users of passive RFID tag. Using passive RFID tag, which has been applied to authentication transactions in existing papers, this study also proposed an appropriate management scheme that is suitable for a dynamic environment and setting a temporary group to provide various services. also proposed scheme is support RFID grouping, temporary group of service and security servicce, improved efficiency of communication.

The Real Time Location System (RTLS) is very important in the ubiquitous society for real time tracking of men, high price assets, and logistics products. In this work, we developed an active RF system for RTLS and tested its performance. The RTLS system developed in this work was constructed of three active readers and one active tag. The small size tag developed in this work operated with a coin type battery. To make the tag smaller, we used an internal PCB antenna and a chip antenna. We tested the performance of the tag. To reduce the manufacturing cost of our RF system, we used low price RF transceiver CC2510 chip-set. The CC2510 chip-set provided RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator) signal which could be used to determine the distances between an active tag and three active readers.

RFID systems are being studied and developed in the area of the industry and marketplace. Recently RFID systems are core element of the ubiquitous technologies in individual life and industry. However, RFID systems often cause some serious problems such as violation of privacy and information security because their contactless devices communicate each other by radio frequency In this paper, we propose multiple objects RFID tag scheme including tag structure and authentication protocol. The proposed RFID tag structure maintains several object IDs of different applications in a tag memory. The tag structure allows those applications to access object IDs simultaneously. The authentication protocol for multiple objects tag is designed ta overcome the problems of security and privacy. The protocol has robustness against various attacks in low cost RFID systems. We evaluate the efficiency of proposed scheme and compare security of our scheme with several traditional schemes.
