Herein, a facile approach for the development of effective and low-cost carbon precursors from acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) rubber is reported. ABS rubber with a negligible char yield can be converted into an excellent carbon precursor with approximately 54% char yield under a nitrogen atmosphere at 800℃ by simple iodine doping and subsequent heating at 110℃ under an inert atmosphere. The enhanced char yield is attributed to the improved intermolecular interactions between the ABS chains caused by the formation of covalent bonds between the butadiene segments, along with the newly developed charge-charge interactions and other indiscriminate radical-radical couplings. The charges and radicals involved in these interactions are also generated by iodine doping. We believe that this study will be useful for the development of low-cost carbon precursors.

Si quantum dot (QD) imbedded in a $SiO_2$ matrix is a promising material for the next generation optoelectronic devices, such as solar cells and light emission diodes (LEDs). However, low conductivity of the Si quantum dot layer is a great hindrance for the performance of the Si QD-based optoelectronic devices. The effective doping of the Si QDs by semiconducting elements is one of the most important factors for the improvement of conductivity. High dielectric constant of the matrix material $SiO_2$ is an additional source of the low conductivity. Active doping of B was observed in nanometer silicon layers confined in $SiO_2$ layers by secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) depth profiling analysis and confirmed by Hall effect measurements. The uniformly distributed boron atoms in the B-doped silicon layers of $[SiO_2(8nm)/B-doped\;Si(10nm)]_5$ films turned out to be segregated into the $Si/SiO_2$ interfaces and the Si bulk, forming a distinct bimodal distribution by annealing at high temperature. B atoms in the Si layers were found to preferentially substitute inactive three-fold Si atoms in the grain boundaries and then substitute the four-fold Si atoms to achieve electrically active doping. As a result, active doping of B is initiated at high doping concentrations above $1.1{\times}10^{20}atoms/cm^3$ and high active doping of $3{\times}10^{20}atoms/cm^3$ could be achieved. The active doping in ultra-thin Si layers were implemented to silicon quantum dots (QDs) to realize a Si QD solar cell. A high energy conversion efficiency of 13.4% was realized from a p-type Si QD solar cell with B concentration of $4{\times}1^{20}atoms/cm^3$. We will present the diffusion behaviors of the various dopants in silicon nanostructures and the performance of the Si quantum dot solar cell with the optimized structures.

High temperature Kermal diffusion from $POCl_3$ source usually used for conventional process through put of a cell manufacturing line and potentially reduce cell efficiency through bulk like time degradation. To fabricate high efficiency solar cells with minimal thermal processing, spin-on-doping(SOD) technique can be employed to emitter diffusion of a silicon solar cell. A technique is presented to emitter doping of a mono-crystalline solar cell using spin-on doping (SOD). Moreover it is shown that the sheet resistance variation with RTA temperature and time fer mono-crystalline and multi-crystalline silicon samples. This novel SOD technique was successfully used to produces 11.3% efficiency l04mm by 104mm size mono-crystalline silicon solar cells.
In this paper, We discuss the $POCI_3$ doping process according to the variation of deposition temperature, gas flow rate and doping time. The factors acted with $POCI_3$ doping are gas flow rate deposition temperature and time etc. Among them the temperature is the most important factor. For the $POCI_3$ flow rate, it should not exceed the resistivity saturation point developed on poly surface by annealing treatment. Therefore, this study suggests the optimum conditions of Poly-silicon treatments with the $POCI_3$ flow rate.
A low temperature doping technique has been studied for application in poly-Si TFT's on plastic substrates. Heavily-doped amorphous silicon layers were deposited on poly-Si and the dopant atoms were driven in by subsequent excimer laser annealing. The entire process was carried out under a substrate temperature of $120^{\circ}C$, and a sheet resistance as low as $300 {\Omega}/sq$. was obtained.
Highly efficient red phosphorescent OLEDs (PHOLEDs) with a simple, organic, triple-layer structure was developed using the narrow-bandgap fluorescent host material bis(10-hydroxybenzo[h] quinolinato)beryllium complex (Bebq2) and the deep-red dopant tris(1-phenylisoquinoline)iridium (Ir(piq)3). The maximum current and power efficiency values of 12.71 cd/A and 16.02 lm/W, respectively, with an extremely low doping technology of 1%, are demonstrated herein. The results reveal a practical, cost-saving host dopant system for the fabrication of highly efficient PHOLEDs involving the simple structure presented herein, with a reduction of expensive Ir dopants.

Graphene was obtained on Cu foil by thermal decomposition method. A gas mixture of $H_2$ and $CH_4$ and an ambient annealing temperature of $1,000^{\circ}C$ were used during the deposition for 30 Min., and for the transfer onto $SiO_2/Si$ and Si substrates. The physical properties of graphene were investigated with regard to the effect ofnitrogen atom doping and the various substrates used. The G/2D ratio decreased when the graphene became monolayer graphene. The graphene grown on $SiO_2/Si$ substrate showed a low intensity of the G/2D ratio, because the polarity of the $SiO_2$ layer improved the quality of graphene. The intensity of the G/2D ratio of graphene doped with nitrogen atoms increased with the doping time. The quality of graphene depended on the concentration of the nitrogen doping and chemical properties of substrates. High-quality monolayer graphene was obtained with a low G/2D ratio. The increase in the intensity of the G/2D ratios corresponded to a blue shift in the 2D peaks.
We investigate co-doping effects of conjugated P-N B-N with increasing of N concentration in the graphene sheets using a first principles based on the density functional theory. N doping sites of the graphene consider two possible sites (pyridinic and porphyrin-like). Energy calculation shows that additional doping of B atom in the porphyrin-like N doped graphene ($V+B-N_x$) is hard to form. At the low chemical potential of N, one N atom with additional doping in the graphene ($V+P-N_1$, $P/B-N_1$) has low formation energy on the other hand at high chemical potential of N, high concentration of N ($V+P-N_4$, $P/B-N_3$) in the graphene is governing conformation. From the results of electronic band structure calculation, it is found that $V+P-N_4$ and $P/B-N_3$ cases change the Fermi energy therefore type change is occurred. On the other hand, the cases of $V+P-N_1$ and N+B recover the electronic structure of pristine graphene.
We report the effect of Ca doping in $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-\delta}$ (YBCO) thin films grown on the Rolling- Assisted, Biaxially Textured Substrates (RABiTS) with the architecture of $CeO_2/YSZ/CeO_2/Ni$. Critical currents of bilayer and trilayer structures of $YBCO/Y_{0.7}Ca_{0.3}Ba_2Cu_3O_{7-\delta}$/(YCaBCO) as well as undoped YBCO for comparison have been measured in a wide range of temperatures and fields. For $6-8^{\circ}$ grain boundaries, 30% Ca-doping in bilayer structure enhances $J_c$ as high as 35%. The enhancement is larger at low temperatures and at magnetic fields. On the other hand, 30% Ca-doping in trilayer structure reduces $J_c$ as high as 60%. Combined with slightly lower $T_c$, this indicates that Ca is overdoped in this structure and degrades GBs.
