Emission Characteristic for High Efficiency and Low NOx of Externally Oscillated Oil Burner (외부가진 오일 버너의 고효율 저 NOx 배출특성)

  • The important factor for the development of burner is the achievement of low emissions with maintaining combustibility. In case of maintaining high temperature flame and excess air to increase the combustibility, it is possible to achieve high combustion efficiency, due to the reduction of UHC(unborn hydrocarbon), carbon monoxide and soot. However, it is difficult to reduce the thermal NOx produced in the high temperature flame. To solve this problem, we developed externally oscillated oil burner which is possible for the high efficiency combustion and low NOx emission, simultaneously. The experiment of flame characteristics and NOx reduction were achieved according to the variation of frequency, amplitude and air velocity. Frequency, amplitude and air velocity are the most important parameter. The optimum operating conditions are frequency 1,900 Hz, amplitude 3 $V_{pp.}$ and air velocity 6.8 m/s. Reduction of NOx and CO are 47% and 22%, respectively.

Motion Control Algorithm Expanding Arithmetic Operation for Low-Cost Microprocessor (저가형 마이크로프로세서를 위한 연산처리 확장 모션제어 알고리즘)

  • For precise motion control, S-curve velocity profile is generally used but it has disadvantage of relatively long calculation time for floating-point arithmetics. In this paper, we present a new generating method for velocity profile to reduce delay time of profile generation so that it overcomes such disadvantage and enhances the efficiency of precise motion control. In this approach, the velocity profile is designed based on the gamma correction expression that is generally used in image processing to obtain a smoother movement without any critical jerk. The proposed velocity profile is designed to support both T-curve and S-curve velocity profile. It can generate precise profile by adding an offset to the velocity profile with decimals under floating point that are not counted during gamma correction arithmetic operation. As a result, the operation time is saved and the efficiency is improved. The proposed method is compared with the existing method that generates velocity profile using ring buffer on a 8-bit low-cost MCU. The result shows that the proposed method has no delay in generating driving profile with good accuracy of each cycle velocity. The significance of the proposed method lies in reduction of the operation time without degrading the motion accuracy. Generated driving signal also shows to verify effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • The experiment was conducted to predict air movements and to analyzxe the ventilation characteristics in ventilated greenhouse. Relatively high wind velocity was checked near windward inlet, but near leeward outlet and indoor very low wind velocity near to zero was checked . Despite of much influent air, indoor temperature was watched as high values uniformly due to inadequate air flow in greenhouse and low ventilation efficiency of the greenhouse.

  • In this study, the property against low velocity of the compesite material, which will be applied a rail vehicle, is shown using experiment and a finite element code. The property can be denoted the resistance of impact force, which is defined by maximum impact force over damage area. A damage propagation model is necessary to estimate accurately the impact property of a composite material through FEM code.

Kinematic Analysis of Acopian in Vault (도마종목 Kasamatsu계의 Akopian 기술동작 분석)

  • The study were to assess technical factors between the high score group and the low score group, from the subjects of 16 male national gymnasts, and to analyze the kinematical characteristic and main technical cause on technique of Akopian's 3D motion analysis of the male vaulting game in 2001 classification championship. The result of this study is this. There were not so much difference between the two groups in term; of the time of board contact, pre-flight, and total performance, but it takes shorter time when the players who are in the high point group take down the board, and they take long time for post-flight(p<.01). The high point group has a longer perpendicular distance in the moment of horse taking off, 0.05m on the average, than the low point group. The high point group shows 0.16m higher on the average than the other group in term; of the height of post-flight(p<.01). In the phase of board contact, the range of horizontal velocity at board take on were $7.66m/s{\sim}7.33m/s$, but there weren't significantly statistic differences between two groups. The hight score group were 0.68m/s faster than the low point group at the horizontal velocity at board take off event(<.05). About the average horizontal velocity of deceleration, AG1(-1.95m/s) reduces the speed more than AG2(-1.57m/s)(p<.05). And the hight score group were 0.37m/s faster than the low point group at the vertical velocity at horse take off event(<.05). When board taking off, the projectile angle of com were $38.7{\sim}37.8degree$ on the average. the comparative groups show almost same results. When horse taking off, the HPVy of the high point group were 37.6 degree which were a little higher than the low point group. The angular velocities of the players who takes on the horse with a right hand and then takes off with a left hand in the high point group were 14.97rad/sec, 10.82rad/sec in the low point group. However, the angular velocity of the players who takes on the horse with a left hand and then takes off on a right hand with the high point group were 14.97rad/sec, 15.56rad/sec in the low point group.

The result of this study is this. In case of horse contact time the high score group was swifter than low score group, and there was significant difference between the high score group and the low score group(<.01). On high score group the time of taking on from horse showed shorter than that of taking off from horse, while of the low score group the time of taking on the horse was similar to that of taking off from horse on the average. And in time of pre-flight the high score group on average the was 0.16sec shorter times than the low score group, and so there was significantly difference between groups(<.05). Also It is a characteristic that the high score group was short in horse contact time and longer in post-flight. In the horizontal distance of post-flight, the high score group was 0.11m longer than the low score group and there was significantly statistic difference between groups(<.05). In the vertical height of the cog in Post-flight's phrase, the high score group was 0.15m higher than the low score group and there was significantly statistic difference between groups(.<01). The horizontal velocity and vertical velocity in the event of taking on and off Beat board and Vault weren't significantly statistic differences between two groups. In the slow-down of average horizontal velocity during keeping contact with the beat board, the high score group was larger than the low score group. And in an increased average vertical velocity during keeping contact with the beat board, the high score group was even larger than the low score group. In the projectile angle of cog in taking off the beat board, 40.2deg., the angle of low score group and 39.5deg., the angle of high score group are nearly alike. In the projectile angle of cog in taking off the beat, the high score group showed 1.6Wt larger on average than the low score group. However the average reaction force on the board and Vault wasn't almost different between two groups, showed 0.3~0.6Wt larger in the high score group.

Wear Characteristics of Particulate Reinforced Metal Matrix Composites Fabricated by a Pressureless Metal Infiltration Process (무가압함침법으로 제조된 입자강화 금속복합재료의 마모특성)

  • The effect of size and volume fraction of ceramic particles, with sliding velocity on the wear properties were investigated for the metal matrix composites fabricated by the pressureless infiltration process. The metal matrix composites exhibited about 5.5 - 6 times the wear resistance compared with AC8A alloy at high sliding velocity, and by increasing the particle size and decreasing the volume fraction, the wear resistance was improved. The wear resistance of metal matrix composites and AC8A alloy exhibited different aspects. Wear loss of AC8A alloy increased with sliding velocity, linearly : whereas, metal matrix composites indicated more wear loss than AC8A alloy at the slow velocity region. However, a transition point of wear loss was found at the middle velocity region, which shows the minimum wear loss. Further, wear loss at the high velocity region exhibited nearly the same value as the slow velocity region. In terms of wear mechanism, the metal matrix composites generally exhibited abrasive wear at slow to high sliding velocity; however, AC8A alloy showed abrasive wear at low sliding velocity and adhesive and melt wear at high sliding velocity.

An Automatic Speed Control System of a Treadmill with Ultrasonic Sensors (초음파 센서를 이용한 트레드밀의 자동속도 제어시스템)

  • In this paper, we have developed an automatic velocity control system of a small-sized commercial treadmill (belt length of 1.2 m and width of 0.5 m) which is widely used at home and health centers. The control objective is to automatically adjust the treadmill velocity so that the subject's position is maintained within the track when the subject walks at a variable velocity. The subject's position with respect to a reference point is measured by a low-cost sonar sensor located on the back of the subject. Based on an encoder sensor measurement at the treadmill motor, a state feedback control algorithm with Kalman filter was implemented to determine the velocity of the treadmill. In order to reduce the unnatural inertia force felt by the subject, a predefined acceleration limit was applied, which generated smooth velocity trajectories. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in providing successful velocity changes in response to variable velocity walking without causing significant inertia force to the subject. In the pilot study with three subjects, users could change their walking velocity easily and naturally with small deviations during slow, medium, and fast walking. The proposed automatic velocity control algorithm can potentially be applied to any locomotion interface in an economical way without having to use sophisticated and expensive sensors and larger treadmills.
