  • Up until now, it is said that no satisfactory computer solutions have been found for synthesizing four-bar linkage based on the prescribed coupler link curve. In our study, an algorithm has been developed to improve the design synthesis of four-bar linkage automatically generating prescribed path by using B-spline interpolation. The suggested algorithm generates the desired coupler curve by using B-spline interpolation, and hence the generated curve approximates as closely as to the desired curve representing coupler link trajectory. Also, when comparing each generated polygon with the control polygon, rapid comparison by applying convex hull concept. finally, optimization process using ADS is incorporated into the algorithm based on the 5 precision point method to reduce the total optimization process time. As for examples, three different four-bar linkages were tested and the results showed the effectiveness of the algorithm.

The suggested algorithm generates the desired coupler curve by using NURBS, and then the generated curve approximates as closely as possible to the desired curve representing coupler link trajectory. Also, when comparing each generated curve by constructing the control polygon, rapid comparison is easily achieved by applying convex hull of the control polygon. • Mobile RFID/NFC linkage technology means a provision of integrated 2 existing mobile RFID services by developing the 900MHz mobile RFID reader and the NFC reader/tag into one SoC to be put on a USIM card. In this paper, the mobile RFID related technologies that offer similar services as NFC were also analyzed to understand the potential linkage to NFC and the requirements for the linkage. In addition, the introduction of dual tag and the code system linkage suggested a linking method to maximally use the existing infrastructure and the requirement satisfaction was analyzed. Lastly, based on the analysis, the future direction for the new standard design was suggested.

  • Deployable structures have the ability to shift from a compact state to an expanded functional configuration. By extension, reconfigurability is another function that relies on embedded computation and actuators. Linkage-based mechanisms constitute promising systems in the development of deployable and reconfigurable structures with high flexibility and controllability. The present paper investigates the deployment and reconfigurability of modular linkage structures with a pin and a sliding support, the latter connected to a linear motion actuator. An appropriate control sequence consists of stepwise reconfigurations that involve the selective releasing of one intermediate joint in each closed-loop linkage, effectively reducing it to a 1-DOF "effective crank-slider" mechanism. This approach enables low self-weight and reduced energy consumption. A kinematics and finite-element analysis of different linkage systems, in all intermediate reconfiguration steps of a sequence, have been conducted for different lengths and geometrical characteristics of the members, as well as different actuation methods, i.e., direct and cable-driven actuation. The study provides insight into the impact of various structural typological and geometrical factors on the systems' behavior.

  • This paper propose a method to design the rotor of synchronous reluctance motors(SynRM) for maximum torque and power factor by using DOE(design of experiment) with the design variables which are parameters of barriers and segments. In this process, there are problems that require lots of simulation time and number of simulations when calculating the both torque and power factor using the finite element method in order to find load angle, core loss per speed. In order to improve this problem, we calculate only value of flux linkage by finite element method, and can decrease analysis and the number of analysis time by applying steady state expression of the power factor and torque. Finally, in order to verify the characteristics of optimal model, we make prototype motor and compare with the conventional SynRM. In this experiment, we use the DC current decay test for calculating d-and q-axis inductance.

  • A spring-actuated linkage system is used to satisfy the desired opening and closing characteristics of the electric contacts of a vacuum circuit breaker. If the type of a circuit breaker and the structure of the linkage system are predetermined, then design parameters such as stiffness, free length and attachment points of the spring become the important issues. In this paper, based on the energy conservation, the total system energy is constant throughout the operating range of the mechanism; a systematic procedure to optimize the spring design parameters is developed and applied to a simplified mechanism of a circuit breaker. The developed procedure is converted to the environment of the multi-body dynamics program, ADAMS for an in-depth consideration of the complex dynamics of a circuit breaker mechanism.

  • We made a sample design for next 5 years, based on the population as of 1995, for livestock statistics. In the sample design, we used the stratified one stage sampling method where the sample size depends on the prefixed coefficient of variation. In stratifying the population, we considered the complete linkage method, and decided the number of strata to be the one which yields the minimum sample size. We listed here some difficulties we had for the better sample design in the future.

  • This paper proposed a m.Sketch to search the optimal link lengths for a legged walking robot. In order to apply the m.Sketch for the proposed, set the design parameters of the constraints and use the m.Skecth to get optimal GL(Groud Length) and GAC(Ground Angle Coefficient). The legged robot designed based on four-bar linkage theory and Theo Jansen mechanism. The stride length of the legged walking robot was defined based on the proposed kinematic analysis. Use the Edison Design m.Sketch simulate and find the optimal link length having the best of the Ground Length (GL) and Ground Angle Coefficient(GAC). And use these length implemented the Theo Jansen mechanism both in Science box parts and acrylic. In addition to the further expansion of the legs to reach the goaltranslating heavy objects or person.

  • Flux linkage of phase windings or phase inductance is an important parameter in determining the behavior of a switched reluctance motor (SRM) [1-8]. Therefore, the accurate prediction of inductance at aligned and unaligned rotor positions makes a significant contribution to the design of an SRM and its analytical approach is not straightforward due to nonlinear flux distribution. Although several different approaches using a finite element analysis (FEA) or curve-fitting tool have been employed to compute phase inductance [2-5], they are not suitable for a simple design procedure because the FEA necessitates a large amount of time in both modeling and solving with complexity for every motor design, and the curve-fitting requires the data of flux linkage from either an experimental test or an FEA simulation. In this paper, phase inductance at aligned and unaligned rotor positions is estimated by means of numerical method and magnetic equivalent circuit as well, and the proposed approach is analytically verified in terms of the accuracy of estimated inductance compared to inductance computed by an FEA simulation.
