  • In this Paper, the modeling of the electromagnetic damper for automobile suspension is presented and the validation of the model is demonstrated by experiments. An electromagnetic damper, composed of a rotary DC motor, and a ball screw and nut. The damper then operates as a linear electric actuator. The damper then operate as a linear electric actuator. The results indicate the proposed system is feasible and it is proved that the electromagnetic damper has better than oil damper of passive control system.

  • Recently, many linear motion generators and motors are rapidly finding applications that ranges from short stroke linear motion vibrators, such as dynamic con type loud speakers to stilting engine driven linear reciprocating alternators, compressors, textile machines etc. In this paper, we analyze the characteristics of tubular linear motor with Halbach and radial magnet array respectively. We already derived magnetic field solutions due to the PMs and to the currents and Motor thrust. On the basis of analytical field solutions, this paper deals with flux linkages and back emf. The results are validated extensively by comparison with finite element analyses. Then, this parer also presents thrust characteristics according to design parameters for each model.

리니어모터 스테이지 편요오차 보상장치 제어 (Control for a Yaw Error Compensation System of Linear Motor Stage)

  • Linear motor stage is a useful device in precision engineering field because of its simple power transmission mechanism and accurate positioning. Even though linear motor stage shows fine positioning accuracy along travel axis, geometric dependent errors which relay on machining and assembling accuracy should be addressed to increase total positioning performances. In this paper, we suggests a cost effective yaw error compensation servo-system which is mounted on platform of the stage and nullify travel position dependent yaw error. This paper also provides a method of designing a sliding mode control which is robust to existing friction disturbance and model uncertainties. The reachability condition of slinding mode control for the yaw error compensating servo-system has been established. From some experimental results by using an experimental set-up, the sliding mode control showed its effective in disturbance rejection and its performance was superior to conventional linear controls.

  • This paper represents a piezoelectric ultrasonic linear motor by traveling wave. The motor which is composed of two piezo ceramics, elastic body, and connecting tip is driven by the frictional force between the connecting tip and the linear motion guide. longitudinal and flexural vibrations are made by traveling wave which is generated when the ultrasonic electrical signals with 90 degree phase difference are applied to two ceramics. These vibrations contribute to elliptical motion by mixed mode between longitudinal and transverse mode. A linear movement can be easily obtained by using the elliptical motion. In this paper, the piezoelectric actuator has been intensively simulated by using ATILA to achieve an optimized elliptical motion of it. We could get the elliptical motion from actual experiment through the simulated result.

  • Liner DC motors are widely used for servo-actuator, which would be applied for semiconductor equipments and precise machining systems. we have been developed linear DC motor with high speed, acceleration and position accuracy. From performance test, the position accuracy. From performance test, the position and repeatability accuracy were able to be controlled with 10 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and $\pm$1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, respectively. The highest acceleration and speed were obtained 3 G and 2m/sec, respectively. Static thrust force was 270N, and then error was 25%.

  • The purpose of this paper is Characteristics Analysis according to thickness of Secondary Conductor in Tubular Linear Induction Motor(TLIM). Linear motors make good used of several applications as pumps and linear actuator. Characteristic equations of TLIM are obtained form voltage equation. And parameters of voltage equation are calculated.

  • Electro-hydraulic spring return actuator(ESRA) is utilized for air conditioning facilities in a nuclear power plant. It features self-contained, hydraulic power that is integrally coupled to a single acting hydraulic cylinder and provides efficient and precise linear control of valves as well as return of the actuator to the de-energized position upon loss of power. In this paper, the algebraic equations of ESRA at steady-state have been developed for the analysis of static characteristics that includes control pressure and valve displacement of pressure reducing valve, flow force on flapper as well as its displacement over the entire operating range. Also, the effect of external load on piston deviation is investigated in terms of linear system analysis. The results of static characteristics show the unique feature of force balance mechanism and can be applied to the stable self-controlled mechanical system design of ESAR.

  • In this paper, it has been investigated that the design and simulation of vacuum pump driven by linear motor. Vacuum pump consists of unified plunger and piston part, coils, inlet valve and outlet valve. Operating principal of vacuum pump show that air is to flow to go inside through the inlet valve when the magnetic force (16N) is exerted, whereas, air is to flow to go outside through outlet valve when spring farce (14.8N) is exerted. The results of simulation. it was turned out that reached vacuum pressure was about -0.55 bar at 150 seconds, magnetic force was loaded with 16 Newton, displacement of actuator was about 8mm.

Terfenol-D 작동기를 이용한 초정밀 스텝모터의 성능평가 (High Precision Stepping Motor Using Terfenol-D Actuators: Its Performance Test)

  • High precision step motor using Terfenol-D linear actuators is proposed and its performance is tested. Four Terfenol-D linear actuators are set up perpendicular to the rotor and saw-tooth current signals are applied on the actuators. It was found that the rotation angle is increased as the excitation current, the inertia of the rotor, and the contact force between the rotor and the push device are increased. The rotation angle per step of $0.001^{\circ}$ and blocking torque of 0.2Nm are achieved. The effect of the time delay between the excitation signals is also investigated.
