  • Recently, Format-Preserving-Encryption (FEA) was suggested by the National Security Research institute (NSR) as an encryption method while maintaining the format without a distortion to the intended information to be encrypted. In this paper, we propose a scheme to solve conventional cyber security problems by using FEA scheme. First, we present the method to encrypt signatures and extensions with FEA in order to effectively defend against Ransomeware attacks. This technique can mitigate the exposure to the Ransomeware by encrypting the minimum information. Second, in order to reduce the secret information for Steganography, we introduce a new way to minimize the secret information with FEA. Finally, we compare the operation speed by encryption with FEA and Lightweight Encryption Algorithm (LEA), furthermore when we optimize FEA we want to compare with the performance improvement accompanying with it.

  • With the diverse services of the current M2M environment being expanded to the organizations, the corporations, and the daily lives, the possibility of the occurrence of the vulnerabilities of the security of the related technologies have become an issue. In order to solve such a problem of the vulnerability of the security, this thesis proposes the technique for applying the cryptography algorithm for the protection of the device key of the M2M environment. The proposed technique was based on the elliptic curve cryptography Through the key exchange and the signature exchange in the beginning, the security session was created. And the white box cipher was applied to the encryption that creates the white box table using the security session key. Application results cipher algorithm, Elliptic Curve Cryptography provides a lightweight mutual authentication, a session key for protecting the communication session and a conventional white-box cipher algorithm and was guaranteed the session key used to encrypt protected in different ways. The proposed protocol has secure advantages against Data modulation and exposure, MITM(Man-in-the-middle attack), Data forgery and Manipulation attack.

  • In this paper, a merged TEA block cipher processor which unifies Tiny Encryption Algorithm(TEA), extended Tiny Encryption Algorithm(XTEA) and corrected block TEA(XXTEA) is designed. After TEA cipher algorithm was first designed, XTEA and XXTEA cipher algorithms were designed to correct security weakness. Three types of cipher algorithm uses a 128-bit master key. The designed cipher processor can encrypt or decrypt 64-bit message block for TEA/XTEA and variable-length message blocks up to 256-bit for XXTEA. The maximum throughput for 64-bit message blocks is 137Mbps and that of 256-bit message blocks is 369Mbps. The merged TEA block cipher designed in this paper has a 16% gain on the area side compared to a lightweight LEA cipher. The cryptographic IP of this paper is applicable in security module of the mobile areas such as smart card, internet banking, and e-commerce.

  • There has been a growing interest in automation of factories in the country. And, the development in this regard has been actively attempted. In particular, on the basis of the "innovation 3.0 strategy of manufacturing industry", interest in the smart of the manufacturing plant of small and medium-sized enterprises has increased rapidly. As well as policy for building smart plant, technical, seeking a strategic approach. But, in order to introduce such a smart plant or factory automation systems, manufacturing plant security with vulnerability and personal information protection problems, it should always be top priority there. Accordingly, we provide the applicable lightweight secure protocols in RFID communication. It is a wireless communication technology that is most often introduced for factory automation. Our proposed lightweight secure protocol in this study, less the number of calculations in comparison with the existing public key-based and the symmetric key encryption algorithm. And it is fast in compare with the existing protocol. Furthermore, we design that it system can support to low power consumption and small consume the memory size.

  • Internet of Things architecture connected to the Internet is a technology. However, Many paper research for the lightweight Protocol of IoT Environment. In these Paper excluded secure problem about protocol. So Light weight Protocol has weakness of secure in IoT environment. All of IoT devices need encryption algorithm and authentication message code for certain level of security. However, IoT environment is difficult to using existing security technology. For this reason, Studies for Lightweight IPsec is essential in IoT environment. For Study of Lightweight IPsec, We analyze existing protocols such as IPsec, 6LoWPAN for IEEE 802.15.4 layer and Lightweight IPsec based 6LoWPAN. The result is to be obtained for the lightweight IPsec protocols for IoT environment. This protocol can compatible with Internet network.

  • As high-performance quantum computers are expected to be developed, studies are being actively conducted to build a post-quantum security system that is safe from potential quantum computer attacks. When the Grover's algorithm, a representative quantum algorithm, is used to search for a secret key in a symmetric key cryptography, there may be a safety problem in that the security strength of the cipher is reduced to the square root. NIST presents the post-quantum security strength estimated based on the cost of the Grover's algorithm required for an attack of the cryptographic algorithm as a post-quantum security requirement for symmetric key cryptography. The estimated cost of Grover's algorithm for the attack of symmetric key cryptography is determined by the quantum circuit complexity of the corresponding encryption algorithm. In this paper, the quantum circuit of the SCHWAEMM algorithm, AEAD family of SPARKLE, which was a finalist in NIST's lightweight cryptography competition, is efficiently implemented, and the quantum cost to apply the Grover's algorithm is analyzed. At this time, the cost according to the CDKM ripple-carry adder and the unbounded Fan-Out adder is compared together. Finally, we evaluate the post-quantum security strength of the lightweight cryptography SPARKLE SCHWAEMM algorithm based on the analyzed cost and NIST's post-quantum security requirements. A quantum programming tool, ProjectQ, is used to implement the quantum circuit and analyze its cost.

  • Internet of Things (IoT) is proliferating to provide more intelligent services by interconnecting various Internet devices, and TCP based MQTT is being used as a standard communication protocol of the IoT. Although it is recommended to use TLS/SSL security protocol for TCP with MQTT-based IoT devices, encryption and decryption performance degenerates when applied to low-specification / low-capacity IoT devices. In this paper, we propose an end-to-end message security protocol using elliptic curve cryptosystem, a lightweight encryption algorithm, which improves performance on both sides of the client and server, based on the simulation of TLS/SSL and the proposed protocol.

  • Differential Fault Analysis(DFA) is widely known for one of the most powerful method for analyzing block cipher. it is applicable to block cipher such as DES, AES, ARIA, SEED, and lightweight block cipher such as PRESENT, HIGHT. In this paper, we introduce a differential fault analysis on the lightweight block cipher LEA for the first time. we use 300 chosen fault injection ciphertexts to recover 128-bit master key. As a result of our attack, we found a full master key within an average of 40 minutes on a standard PC environment.

  • Ultra-lightweight password CHAM is an algorithm with efficient addition, rotation and XOR operations on resource constrained devices. CHAM shows high computational performance, especially on IoT platforms. However, lightweight block encryption algorithms used on the Internet of Things may be vulnerable to side channel analysis. In this paper, we demonstrate the vulnerability to side channel attack by attempting a first power analysis attack against CHAM. In addition, a safe algorithm was proposed and implemented by applying a masking technique to safely defend the attack. This implementation implements an efficient and secure CHAM block cipher using the instruction set of an 8-bit AVR processor.
