자체 개발한 유기 발광 소자의 효율 측정 시스템 (Self-developed Efficiency Measurement System of Organic Light-Emitting Diodes)

  • A way of measuring an efficiency of organic light-emitting diodes are studied. The efficiency is obtained from the current-voltage-luminance characteristics of the devices. Basically, number of charge carriers are obtained from the current-voltage characteristics, and the number of photons are obtained from the current of Si-photodetector. The organic light-emitting diodes are assumed as a lambertian light source and a program is made for calculating the efficiency. A device structure of ITO/TPD/$Alq_3$/Al is manufactured using thermal-vapor evaporation. This device is set into a measuring system and measured the efficiency. The efficiencies are measured using the lab-made program and commercially available equipments. The obtained values are similar to each other within 10% uncertainty.

  • 최근, 에너지 절감 및 환경보전의 한 방법으로서 LED광원을 이용한 고효율 조명기기의 요구가 증가하고 있다. 그러나 LED광원을 이용한 조명기기는 실내공간의 용도 및 사용자에 대한 고려를 배제한 채, 색상 및 패턴이 결정되어 시각적 불쾌감을 초래하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 LED광원을 이용한 국부조명의 CCT의 변화가 작업자의 시작업 성능에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 실내공간의 용도 및 사용자를 고려한 조명 설계에 기초자료를 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구를 위해 2 종류의 LED광원과 1종류의 형광광원을 선정하였으며, 대학생 30명을 대상으로 오류수정작업과 읽기작업에 대한 정확도 및 소요시간을 평가하였다. 시작업 성능평가 결과, LED광원에서 오류수정 작업의 정확도는 형광광원에 비해 최대 2.5[%]가 증가되었으며, 소요시간은 최대 17.1[%]가 감소되었다. 또한 읽기작업 결과 소요시간은 LED광원에서 20.6[%]가 감소하였다.

Effects of Sources and Quality of LED Light on Response of Lycium chinense of Photosynthetic Rate, Transpiration Rate, and Water Use Efficiency in the Smart Farm

  • Smart farm is a breakthrough technology that can maximize crop productivity and economy through efficient utilization of space regardless of external environmental factors. This study was conducted to investigate the optimal growth and physiological conditions of Chinese matrimony vine (Lycium chinense) with LED light sources in a smart farm. The light source was composed of red+blue and red+blue+white mixed light using a LED system. In the red+blue mixed light, red and blue colored LEDs were mixed at ratios of 1:1, 2:1, 5:1, and 10:1, with duty ratios varied to 100%, 99%, and 97%. The experimental results showed that the photosynthetic rate according to the types of light sources did not show statistically significant differences. Meanwhile, the photosynthetic rate according to the mixed ratio of the red and the blue light was highest with the red light and blue LED ratio of 1:1 while the water use efficiency was highest with the red and blue LED ratio of 2:1. The photosynthetic rate according to duty ratio was highest with the duty ratio of 99% under the mixed light condition of red+blue+white whereas the water use efficiency was highest with the duty ratio of 97% under the mixed light of red+blue LED. The results indicate that the light source and light quality for the optimal growth of Lycium chinense in the smart farm using the LED system are the mixed light of red+blue (1:1) and the duty ratio of 97%.

  • The most ideal light source known to the mankind is sunlight. Therefore, whenever an artificial light source is needed in a dark place such as in a shadowed houses, the utmost goal is to find an artificial light characteristics of which approaches that of sunlight. On this ground, we have investigated a Neodymium lamp as a possible substitute for sunlight. Especially, the local and the color rendering, a life expectancy, and the overall efficiency are carefully studied.

  • LCD(liquid crystal display) TV용 백라이트의 광원으로서 면광원이 개발되었으며, 이를 이용한 조명 기기를 제작 및 평가하였다. 면광원은 유리성형을 통하여 채널을 형성하였으며 채널의 모양을 최적화하여 면광원을 이용한 조명 기기의 효율을 향상시킬 수 있었다. 본 논문에서는 특히 현재 주로 사용되고 있는 형광등과의 비교 평가를 통하여 조명용 면광원의 광 효율 및 조도 특성에 관한 성능을 평가하였다. 채널의 구조가 최적화된 면광원을 이용하여 제작된 32"형 조명 기기의 광 효율은 72.7[1m/W]이었다.

30 W COB LED광원의 효율 개선을 위한 방열설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Improving the Efficiency of a Heat Dissipation Design for 30 W COB LED Light Source)

  • In this paper, thermal analysis of heatsink for 30 W class Chip-on-Board (COB) LED light source is performed by using SolidWorks Flow Simulation package. In order to increase the convection heat transfer, number of fin and shape of the heatsink is optimized. Furthermore, a copper spread is applied between the COB LED light source and the heatsink to mitigate the heat concentration on the heatsink. With the copper spread, the junction temperature between the COB LED light source and the heatsink is $50.9^{\circ}C$, which is $5.4^{\circ}C$ lower than the heatsink without the copper spread. Due to the improvement of the junction temperature, the light output is improved by 5.8% when the LED light source is stabilized. The temperature difference between the simulation and measured result of the heatsink with the copper spread is within $2^{\circ}C$, which verifies the validity of the thermal design method using a simulation package.

  • 본 논문은 광역학적 암 진단에서 여기광원(excitation light)으로 사용되는 광원장치의 개발에 관한 연구이다. 여기광원의 파장 대 선택은 광과민제의 선택에 따라 형광발생과 상관관계를 가지게 된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 다양한 광 과민제(photosensitizer)를 이용한 광역학적 암 진단이 가능하도록, 여러 파장 대 광(multi-wavelength)의 선택과 안정적으로 출력할 수 있는 광원장치를 설계하고 개발하였다. 개발된 광원장치는 제논램프(Xenon lamp)를 이용 하였으며, iris를 통한 광 출력제어와 여러 가지 파장대의 필터로 구성된 필터 휠(filter wheel)을 고안하고, 파장 대는 380-420nm 430-480nm, 480-560nm의 파장 대를 출력할 수 있도록 제작하였으며, 광 전달 효율을 높일 수 있도록 광원 전송부도 고안하였다. 개발된 광원장치는 한국식약청의 허가 기준에 맞추어 성능을 평가하였으며, 광 출력과 파장대의 특성을 조사하고 안정성을 검증하였다.

High luminous efficiency Mercury-free flat light source for LCD BLU

  • A Mercury-free, flat light source which shows high luminance and luminous efficiency simultaneously has been developed. An electrodeless, dielectric barrier discharge is used to generate the plasma using Ne-Xe mixture gas of relatively low gas pressure of a few tens torr in a 4.1 inch diagonal size of flat panel. The basic properties of the long gap glow discharge and its accompanying instabilities, which prevents us from having high luminous efficiency discharge have been analyzed. A new structure and optimized driving methods have been used to generate a glow discharge which shows a wide voltage margin of a few hundred volts. The luminous efficiency and luminance could be 110 lm/W at $1300\;cd/m^2$ and 50 lm/W at $5500\;cd/m^2$.

프리즘 필름을 이용한 조명기구 설계 연구 (A Study on Light Guide Luminaire Design using Prismatic Film)

  • There are a number of practical uses for devices which are capable of piping large amounts of light: illumination of areas where there would be maintenance, safety, or security problems with electronic light sources; piping sunlight into indoor areas for illumination; and the conversion of high luminous efficacy, good color quality, high intensity discharge lamps into more acceptable linear of area sources of light. Prism light guides are hollow structures which pipe light by means of total internal reflectin(TIR). These devices are unique in their ability to combine the efficiency of TIR with the relatively low cost of hollow structure. An important application stems from their ability to transform a point source of light such as an incandescent or discharge lamp into a linear or area source of light or illumination. We report the development of an economical, flexible prismatic film for fabricating the light guide wall. This guide geometries and films are currently under development.

이종(異種) 광원 조합에 의한 복수 광원의 분광 방사특성과 광달(光達) 거리 및 집어등 운용방법 (Characteristics of Spectral Irradiance Based on the Distance from the Light Source and Operating Method for Fishing Lamps with a Combined Light Source)

  • Characteristics of spectral irradiance based on the distance from the light source, which combined metal halide lamp and high-luminance light-emitting diode (LED) light, were studied to investigate a suitable operating method for fishing lamps of the next generation. A 380-780 nm wavelength radiation was superior when using 1 W electrical power in the order of metal halide lamp, blue LED, white LED, and combined LED lights. The wavelengths at which the irradiance was at a maximum were fixed to 581 nm for the light source, which was combined for each ratio. If the irradiance characteristics at 300-1100 nm wavelengths were set as 100%, the irradiance rates at 400-599 nm were 100%, 72.7%, 88.9%, and 69.5% for the blue, white, combined LED lights, and metal halide lamp, respectively. This indicated that the color rendering of the LED lights was dependent on the metal halide lamp light source. When the horizontal profiles (450-550 nm wavelength) of irradiances were compared to a different type of light source in the ratio white LED: combined LED lights: blue LED: metal halide lamp, the irradiated area of more than $0.01\;{\mu}mol/s/m^2/nm$ was in the ratio 1.0 : 1.3 : 1.7 : 37.3, respectively. Based on the radiation characteristics and irradiance according to the distance from the light source, LED lights have an estimated economic efficiency if used before and after operation of a metal halide lamp.
