  • The electromagnetic suspension system, which is a kind of magnetic levitation, can be categorized into two groups; separate lift & guidance system and combined lift & guidance system. This paper deals with the latter system, in which lift and guidance forces are generated by a pair of staggered magnets with the inverted U- shaped rail. In this work, a rigid body bogie-truck and a twist response type of bogie-truck, which are constructed by two magnetic wheels consist of two staggered magnet pairs, are modeled, and curvature running characteristics of both types obtained by simulation are presented. Simulation result showed that curvature running characteristics of twist response type of bogie-truck is better than that of rigid body bogie-truck.

  • In this thesis, we explain developing processes of the power transmission system for lift truck. Conventional power transmission system had some problems such as spatial constraints or low speed and high torque problem. Because conventional power transmission system was mainly designed for high speed vehicles. In this paper we developed power shift drive axle specialized for $2.0{\sim}3.5$ ton lift truck. Innovative structure of transmission which is built in inside axle, enables to reduce system weight and size by 40% compared to the conventional power transmission system. Also, it is possible to do additional functions such as auto parking system and anti-roll back system.

  • Severe fork-lift truck noise is annoying to an operator as well as one of the noise pollution elements. This paper presents the noise contribution analysis of a cabin type fork-lift truck to identify the major sources and its usage to reduce the interior noise level. The methodologies for this work are sound field analysis, sound intensity test, insertion loss test of duct system and etc. An effective method to suppress interior noise level of fork-lift truck and design guides are suggested.

  • The purpose of this paper is to present the development processes of the assembly line tester of power transmission for lift truck. Because power transmission is most important part of lift truck, all assembled powertrain parts must be inspected for operational defects, pressures and RPM. Developed assembly line tester is designed to take about 25 minutes for inspecting each assembled power transmission and located it at the end of assembled line. The assembly line no-load tester consists of three parts: (1) the driving hardware part; for installing and operating the transmission. (2) control PCB part; send data from sensors to a computer and control driving part, (3) operation software of no-load tester; for an automatic inspection or manual inspection, for database management and printing transcripts.

  • The vibration analysis of the automobiles has been a good subject for the engineers seeking solutions for more comfortable life. In the area of industrial vehicles, however, the seriousness of the vibration annoyance has not been considered so much. In this paper, a finite element model was built which was good for the low-frequency system(of fork-lift truck), and a forced vibration analysis was obtained for the component of 2n of harmonic orders from engine excitation to this model. Finally, a design optimization upon dynamic responses was made to minimize the vibration acceleration level at selected points representing the vibration level of the whole system.

  • In industrial field, electric fork-lift has been mainly powered by batteries which are varied from DC 36V to 80V. Operating electric fork-lift truck depends on stable electric power supplies which are ensured by using Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS). This paper presents design of SMPS for stable electric power supply. The SMPS has much strength such as high effectiveness, low cost and high stability of output voltage. At the same time, SMPS is small and multi output and has simple design of circuit.

가변축 사용여부에 따른 연료소모량 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on Fuel Consumption Depending on The Use of Lift Axle)

  • 가변축은 대형화물자동차에 주로 장착되는 보조차축으로써, 물류비용 절감과 도로포장면 파손방지, 유류비 등의 차량운행비용 절감을 목적으로 도입되었다. 그러나 유류비절감 측면에 대한 가변축의 사용효과가 실증적 실험을 통해 입증되지 않았을 뿐만 아니라, 일부 운전자들의 막연한 기대심리로 인한 잘못된 가변축 활용사례가 발생되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 가변축 사용 여부에 따른 연료소모량 변화를 확인하고자 실제 도로주행 실험을 수행하였으며, 실험결과를 바탕으로 연료소모원단위 모형을 개발 및 적용하여 가변축 사용여부별 연료소모량을 비교하였다. 그 결과, 가변축을 사용하지 않을 시에 연료소모량 감소가 예상되었으며, 수치상으로 공차주행 시 -0.83%, 만차주행 시 -2.15%를 나타내었다. 공차주행 시 절감율은 제도의 효과를 정량적으로 나타내는 수치로써, 금액으로 환산 시 약 300억 원에 달한다.

  • This paper shows enhanced working performance of the battery fork-lift truck by developing the IGBT full bridge dc-dc convertor using one-chip micro-processor. The PWM pulse is generated from a 16 bit one-chip micro-processor for the speed control of DC motor. In order to ensure the operation of IGBT and motor pecewisely, IGBT gate drive circuit was designed by using current limiting IC and hige voltage limit IC. And also It is able to regenerative braking.

  • In this paper, arm-type lifting mechanism which is attached under the frame of truck is analyzed. The three types of motions which are divided into rotation, pure lifting and automatic tilting motions are analyzed kinematically. These motions are visualized by computer graphics using Visual Basic. This program will be used for designer to demonstrate the arm-type lifting mechanism before making real machines. Also this program can change design parameter interactively.

  • A bonded warehouse is the warehouse located in bonded area. It functions not only as a general warehouse but also as a place for managing the work related to import and export bonded goods. As a general warehouse, it uses the rack system to store the goods and the folk lift truck to move the unitized goods. The operation of the storing system closely related to the efficiency of space uses in a warehouse and vehicle working. Thus, vehicle performance measured in distance units in the ware-house could be used as one of the key performance measure in warehouse system. This paper focuses on the operation efficiency of the bonded warehouse which uses rack system for the storing and the folk lift truck for moving goods. The method of load allocation for balancing the rack uses and vehicle operation for maximizing efficiency are the specific concerns in this paper. The simulation study is conducted to find a policy for efficient vehicle operation based on balanced rack utilization, and the favorable result for the system operation would lead the usable proposal in vehicle operation.
