YANG-MILLS CONNECTIONS ON A COMPACT CONNECTED SEMISIMPLE LIE GROUP

  • Let G be a compact connected semisimple Lie group, g the Lie algebra of G, g the canonical metric (the biinvariant Riemannian metric which is induced from the Killing form of g), and $\nabla$ be the Levi-Civita connection for the metric g. Then, we get the fact that the Levi-Civita connection $\nabla$ in the tangent bundle TG over (G, g) is a Yang-Mills connection.

  • Let G and H be compact connected Lie groups with biinvariant Riemannian metrics g and h respectively, ${\phi}$ a group isomorphism of G onto H, and $E:={\phi}^{-1}TH$ the induced bundle by $\phi$ over the base manifold G of the tangent bundle TH of H. Let ${\nabla}$ and $^H{\nabla}$ be the Levi-Civita connections for the metrics g and h respectively, $\tilde{\nabla}$ the induced connection by the map ${\phi}$ and $^H{\nabla}$. Then, a necessary and sufficient condition for $\tilde{\nabla}$ in the bundle (${\phi}^{-1}TH$, G, ${\pi}$) to be a Yang- Mills connection is the fact that the Levi-Civita connection ${\nabla}$ in the tangent bundle over (G, g) is a Yang- Mills connection. As an application, we get the following: Let ${\psi}$ be an automorphism of a compact connected semisimple Lie group G with the canonical metric g (the metric which is induced by the Killing form of the Lie algebra of G), ${\nabla}$ the Levi-Civita connection for g. Then, the induced connection $\tilde{\nabla}$, by ${\psi}$ and ${\nabla}$, is a Yang-Mills connection in the bundle (${\phi}^{-1}TH$, G, ${\pi}$) over the base manifold (G, g).

  • With the broader range of information and communications technology, of which fashion is a foundational medium, to analyze fashion as an information technology in order to better understand the industry's desire for intellectual property protection, popular resistance to such protection, and the most efficacious balance between them in terms of creative expression. It is, therefore to be focused on cultural and historical reasons for the limited degree of intellectual property protection extended in the past to certain categories of human creativity, including fashion design. So, the question of why some tension still exists between creators and consumers of fashion, how information theory can contribute to an explanation for that tension, and what role law can play in its resolution with Louboutin case and Levi case. Consumers and designers alike are better served by promotion of fair competition, lower litigation costs, and the inventive synergy of the fashion industry. Louboutin shows the comfortable, respectful limits of trademark law, while Levi illustrates the dangerous, overreaching deference that a few circuits have granted to famous marks. The Supreme Court could clarify the standard for dilution claims, requiring that a junior mark be "identical or nearly identical" or even "significantly similar" to a senior mark. Courts should need a deference in making dilution determinations and can choose to make this factor quite subjective with the highest degree of similarity.

  • In this paper, we investigate the notion of q-pseudoconvexity to discuss and describe some geometric characterizations of q-pseudoconvex domains ${\Omega}{\subset}{\mathbb{C}}^n$. In particular, we establish that ${\Omega}$ is q-pseudoconvex, if and only if, for every boundary point, the Levi form of the boundary is semipositive on the intersection of the holomorphic tangent space to the boundary with any (n-q+1)-dimensional subspace $E{\subset}{\mathbb{C}}^n$. Furthermore, we prove that the Kiselman's minimum principal holds true for all q-pseudoconvex domains in ${\mathbb{C}}^p{\times}{\mathbb{C}}^n$ such that each slice is a convex tube in ${\mathbb{C}}^n$.

  • Let M be a $C^{\infty}$ real hypersurface in $\mathbb{C}^{n+1}$, $n\;{\geq}\;1$, locally given as the zero locus of a $C^{\infty}$ real valued function r that is defined on a neighborhood of the reference point $P\;{\in}\;M$. For each k = 1,..., n we present a necessary and sufficient condition for there to exist a complex manifold of dimension k through P that is contained in M, assuming the Levi form has rank n - k at P. The problem is to find an integral manifold of the real 1-form $i{\partial}r$ on M whose tangent bundle is invariant under the complex structure tensor J. We present generalized versions of the Frobenius theorem and make use of them to prove the existence of complex submanifolds.

  • In many practical applications, we face the problem of reconstruction of an unknown function sampled at some data points. Among infinitely many possible reconstructions, the thin plate spline interpolation is known to be the least oscillatory one in the Beppo-Levi semi norm, when the data points are sampled in $\mathbb{R}^2$. The traditional proofs supporting the argument are quite lengthy and complicated, keeping students and researchers off its understanding. In this article, we introduce a simple and short proof for the optimal reconstruction. Our proof is unique and reguires only elementary mathematical background.

  • 오늘날 태국 남부 국경 부근의 3개주와 말레이 북부의 일부가 포함된 지역은 불교 사회인 태국과 무슬림 사회인 말레이라는 문화적인 차이가 있음에도 불구하고 그 문화적 근원을 찾아 보면 분명히 이전의 타이불교와 말레이 무슬림의 근원을 만나게 된다. 이는 역사적으로나 고고학적으로나 혹은 지방문학에서도 뿌리를 찾을 수 있는데 특별히 이 논문에서는 땀난나컨씨탐마랏(나컨씨탐마랏 신화)과 히카얏 메롱 마하왕싸(메롱 마하왕싸 신화)를 중심으로 불교권 타이와 이슬람권 말레이의 문화적인 면을 고찰해보고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 땀난나컨씨탐마랏(나컨씨탐마랏 신화)와 히카얏 메롱 마하왕싸(메롱 마하왕싸 신화) 속에 나타난 두문화, 즉, 불교권 타이와 이슬람권 말레이의 문화는 동일한 구조를 보이고 있음을 밝히고, 그 구조속에 나타난 지도자의 역할과 그 지역의 발전에 종교가 중요한 요소로 작용하였음을 주장하고 있다. 이러한 주장의 바탕은 Levi-Strauss의 이론으로써 태국 남부의 불교권 타이문화와 말레이 북부의 이슬람권 문화가 얼마나 친밀한 문화적 뿌리를 가지고 있는 지를 알게 한다.

A Study on the Brand Personality according to G Sensibility - Centered on the Casual Brand of Levi's - (G감성에 따른 브랜드 퍼스낼리티에 관한 연구 -리바이스를 중심으로-)

  • This is a study which evaluates the brand personality on casual brands according to the sensibilities of consumers. Focus is placed on classifying the sensibilities of consumers through G sensibilities developed by the Fuji Research Institute in Japan, and then on investigating brand personality of casual wear, Levi's in particular. The subjects are 187 male and female college students living in the Busan area. Data were, using SPSS 10. 0 for Window, statistically analyzed by frequency and factor analysis for VARIMAX, Cronbach's coefficient, and ANOVA. The results of data analysis are as follow; First, in the distribution of G sensibility type, the majority of the respondents have G3(whimsical) type, and then followed by G1(my pace) type, G4(active) type, G2 type(active) type and then G5(sensualist) type. Second, as a result of brand personality evaluation on the casual brands, it has been represented by the following 5 factors; passion, competence, honesty, sophistication, and sentiment. Third, the brand personalities according to G sensibilities showed significant differences among respondents; G5 type(sensualist) especially showed the highest brand personality in the passion and sentiment factors, which are distinctive in the brand personality of Levi's. Consumers of G1 type, G2 type, G3 type, and G4 type showed high brand personality in the competence and honesty factors. The evaluation of brand personality, case study for products development and application, and application of the results need to be continued for follow-up study.

THE TORSION OF THE CHARACTERISTIC CONNECTION

  • In [2], [8], the author studied the characteristic connection as a good substitute for the Levi-Civita connection. In this paper, we consider the space $U(3)=(U(1){\times}U(1){\times}U(1))$ with an almost Hermitian structure which admits a characteristic connection and compute the characteristic connection concretely.
