The purpose of the this study was to investigate the association of the participation of leisure activities, leisure satisfaction and quality of life, and analyze the mediating effect of leisure satisfaction in the relationship between the participation of leisure activities and quality of life among people with disabilities. For the purpose, the data were collected by using non-random purposive and convenient sampling methods and 192 disabled people who reside in Daegu city and Kyungpook provinces filled out self-administered questionnaires for this study. Findings of the study indicated that there were statistically significant relationships among the participation of leisure activities, leisure satisfaction, and quality of life and active types of leisure activities such as physical activities, travel activities, and social participating activities were significantly related with leisure satisfaction and quality of life. In addition, the mediating effect of leisure satisfaction in the relationship between the participation of leisure activities and quality of life was statistically significant. Based on the findings of the study, possible practice implications for improving quality of life among disabled people and recommendation for further study were provided.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare health management and leisure activities of the Korean and Japanese elderly. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional descriptive research design. A total of 149 Korean and 140 Japanese older adults living in two urban-rural composite areas participated in this research project. Data were collected using interviews with the participants. t-test and $x^2$ test were used to analyze the data. Results: Eighty eight point two percent of the Japanese perceived that their health status was good whereas 27.3% of the Koreans responded that their health status was poor. There were significant differences in types of leisure activities in art, intellectual, events, and volunteer activities between the two groups. A majority of the Japanese elderly replied that they spent some time and money for leisure activities; however, 20.2% and 27.2% of the Koreans reported that they did not spend time or money at all for leisure activities. Conclusion: The number of the Korean elderly participating leisure activities was significantly lower than Japanese participants. Developing nursing strategies using leisure programs would improve the quality of life of older adults and the quality of nursing care.
Purpose: This research concludes the 110 male and female elderlies who are over 60 years old in C welfare center of G city to examine the effect of self-esteem between leisure activity and life satisfaction. Method: The types of participation leisure consist of 20 questions in five different categories. To measure the value of life satisfaction, the scale of life satisfaction for the elderly which is developed by Choi (1986) is used. The self-esteem was measured by the scale developed by Rosenberg (1965) and translated by Jeon (1974). The data were analyzed by SPSS including frequency, ANOVA, Duncan, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression. Result: There was significant relationship among leisure activity and life satisfaction (r= .410, p= .000), leisure activity and self-esteem (r= .432, p= .000) and life satisfaction and self-esteem (r= .765, p= .000). After testing how leisure activity has effect on the self-esteem, it appears to be 17.9% and after adding life satisfaction it increases to be 59.5%. Conclusion: Synthesizing all following results, there were needed to bepersonal and global effort in many ways to satisfy the economical need of the elderly, and more supports onincreasing participation of the elderly in leisure.

This study is conducted to activate the education of leisure activity for the old age so as to improve the qualities of the lives in the prolonged elderly lives. The method is examined to see how the level and types of leisure activities and life satisfaction for elderly. The target of the survey for this study was the 280 male and female elderly living in S city and C city. the statistics used for data analysis were reliability, frequency, percentage, mean standard deviation, t-test, one way ANOVA and correlation. The results of study were as follow; First, the result investigating the degrees of old people's participation in the pattern of leisure activities and life satisfaction showed pastime activities and family centered activities as the most participating leisure activity pattern, self developing activities and religious social service activities as the least participating one. Second, in comprehensive social demographic characteristic of the elderly participating in the leisure activities pattern, it was shown that the higher their level of lives was, the better their family atmosphere was, the healthier they were, they participated more in their leisure activities. Third, when the life satisfaction were reviewed to find what relation there were according to the pattern of leisure activities, it was shown that the more they participated in recreation and social activities, the more they participated in self developing activities, the more they participated in family centered activities, their life satisfaction was higher. and the old people who did the pastime activities showed high life satisfaction too. Considering this result, we need to develop systematic programs suited to our culture. In addition, Home Economics Education has to support the ideas and leisure experts have to be cultivated.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of lifestyle on the perceived value of children in university students. Questionnaires were distributed to 467 university students with questions covering topics including general personal information and characteristics, lifestyle type, and value of children. First, a cluster analysis based on lifestyle showed that the subjects could be categorized into three groups: negative-leisure types, active-achievement types, and affirmative-fidelity types. The negative-leisure type was highly leisure-oriented and showed a negative self-value; the active-achievement type showed a perspective that valued personal and occupational self-development and a high level of labor-oriented value; and the affirmative-fidelity type favored materialism, seeking occupational aptitude and worth and showing a positive self-value. Second, an investigation of the impact of these three lifestyle types on the students' value of children revealed that the active-achievement type group had high level of belief in the necessity of childbirth, the affirmative-fidelity type group highly valued fulfilling an active parent role, and the active-achievement type group were inclined to delay childbirth. Further, the negative-leisure type group wanted the lowest number of children, while the affirmative-fidelity type group wanted the highest number of children. This study reveals that university students' lifestyle does have an effect on their value of children. It is therefore proposed that a value-focused population education for increasing fertility should relate not only to individuals' value of children but also to their broader lifestyle.

The purpose of this study is to determine which types of leisure activities promote happiness in young people. The ultimate goal of this study is to improve adolescents' levels of happiness and examine the academic and political challenges that occur in their social networks. In this study, subjects as "more than 4th grade of elementary school to less than a high school students". A sampling of the group was completed using a pre-percentage assignment and the data was analyzed according to gender and grade. The primary research method employed was internet research, and questionnaires were used as a secondary method of collecting information. The final analysis used 1.046 (final response rate 83.4%). The results of the present study were classified into the following four parts: social network and the characteristics of youths' subjective happiness; leisure activities according to the type of social network; differences in the level of subjective happiness organized according to the type of leisure activity; and the relative influence of variables that affect the level of subjective happiness. In conclusion, there is a strong correlation between social relationships, leisure activities, and youth's subjective happiness. An analysis of the difference in the level of subjective happiness according to the type of leisure activities of adolescents confirmed that the type of active participation in leisure and the type of indoor and outdoor activities variety were the highest in terms of contributing to the level of subjective happiness. Generally, a discussion of how the existing leisure life affects the subjective happiness of young people needs to be taken one step further. This difference was significant because the level of subjective happiness was confirmed according to the type of leisure activities. In addition, this study determined that leisure activities have an effect on subjective happiness and positively impact young people.
Senior citizens' new life style has appeared according to the massive retirement of the baby boom generation since 2010. Consequently, Senior Welfare Centers, the provider of elderly leisure programs, has been asked for the programs and spaces which are able to meet the changing life style of the elderly. This study focuses on the survey for current status of leisure programs in accordance with the changing life style and on the investigation for sensible usage of space in senior welfare centers in Gwangju Metropolitan city. The result shows the portion of the programs which every center provides is quite different according to the life style. The program types for challenge and utility are provided 192 times a week and the program types for health and sociality 133 times a week. Both types shows high frequency of supply and use of the program especially 85 times of information-oriented education, 64 times of musical instruments, and 42 times of foreign language are supplied vividly. On the contrary, the program types for fashion and self-management and the program types for volunteer work and achievement are insufficient, so It should be reconsidered to establish the programs and to supply the space for the program from now on. The current status for spatial usage shows that most of the centers share a space for several programs. It means that the space of the Senior Welfare Center is limited and various programs should be run in the narrow space. High frequency programs like the program types for challenge and utility secure sufficient spaces not to miscarry the use for the programs. The center of case B has well equipped and large space and provides proper space for each programs to meet the demand of the senior citizens. Like these, Senior Welfare Centers in Gwangju Metropolitan city have supported Senior citizens' Life Style by supplying various leisure programs to meet the demand for it. This research could be used as the basis for the programs about the spatial utilization in accordance with various future life style of Senior citizens'.
With rapid development of technology for strong AI chatbot, the role of chatbot has been extended from conducting simple tasks to being a friend or counsellor. For this newly emerging purpose of chatbot, endowment of personality is important to make the chatbot regarded as a human being. Nevertheless I found that there are few guides about it. Thus, this study identifies the proper personality of chatbot depending on the purpose of services and user types. The purposes of chatbot services are divided into three types such as leisure-time, counselling, and task. The DISC theory is used for categorizing personality, which consists of 4 types such as dominance(D), inducement(I), submission(S), and compliance(C). An interview and survey were conducted to investigate the preferred personality of chatbot and contents for leisure-time. As results, people tend to prefer people-oriented types such as I, S for their leisure time, task-oriented types such as D,C for their task, and slow types such as C,S for counselling. Women prone to prefer neutral gender except for counselling and men tend to prefer female in all chatbot services. Preferred chatbot age is either same or younger age for leisure-time, same or older for counselling, and 30's for tasks. Preferred contents for leisure-time are mostly recent information but many 20's want fun contents and 50-70's want emphatic conversation. 30-50's want honorific but 20's and 60-70's don't care. The research results useful guide on proper personality of AI chatbot for each purpose of its service.
Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the conditions of the leisure type, health status, self-esteem, and social support of the elderly living alone. Method: The subjects were 189 elderly. The instrument was a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: The frequency of the leisure types of the elderly living alone was in the order of culture, rest, social activity and sports. The following factors showed a statistically significant relation: gender, education, religion and marital status with leisure type; age, economic status, job and leisure type with perceived health status; education, economic status and religion with self-esteem; and economic status, marital status and religion with social support. There was a negative correlation between ADL and both perceived health status, and self-esteem, but positive correlations between self-esteem and perceived health status, and between social support and both perceived health status and self-esteem. Conclusion: To maintain the quality of life of the elderly living alone, this study suggests that providing various leisure activities could raise self-esteem, and thereby complement for any deficiencies in family and social support.
This study investigates the patterns of leisure in Korea and the effects of social class on the objective and subjective dimension of leisure activities and life satisfaction. A data set of 1376 Korean men and women over 18 years old is analyzed to yield five main results. First, Korean prefers domestic entertainment to outdoor activities as is exemplified by domestic audio-visual entertainment(TV/DVD/VCR) which ranks the highest in the favored leisure activity. Leisure activities are divided into four types; "activity-based", "relationship-based", "alcohol-based", "relaxation". Second, the function of leisure activity is to strengthen relationships. The main purpose of leisure activity is to relax and revitalize, while creating prospective social network ranks next to relax. But the effect of leisure time is often compromised by recurring thoughts related to work. Third, respondents with high educational and economic backgrounds are more likely to engage in "relationship-based," "activity-based", "alcohol-based" leisure type. However, such factors do not influence on "relaxation" type of leisure. While students and housewives rank highest in number of respondents, respondents with managerial/professional or white-collar/semi-professional occupations enjoy more diverse activities. Fourth, the effort to discern the significance of social class with respect to the leisure-activity-index revealed followings; the index scores elevate with higher education, younger age and higher income. Fifth, leisure-activity-index is the most important variable predicting leisure satisfaction. Leisure satisfaction is influenced by gender, age, income and occupation. The younger the age and higher the income, the higher it is the leisure satisfaction. Men are more satisfied with leisure activities than women. Students experience the highest satisfaction with leisure activities while service/sales workers, industrial/technical/blue-collar workers shows the least satisfaction. Also, the number of family members decreases significantly the leisure satisfaction. While "activity-based" leisure induces the highest satisfaction, "alcohol-based" leisure produces the least satisfaction. The frequency and diversity of leisure activities, and "activity-based" leisure incur the most positive effects on the life satisfaction.
